Excellent video! Lots of good information for beginners! One thing you missed is a torch! That could be a video all on it's own, like everything else. I look forward to watching your next videos. I will also say I am blown away by the fact you are self-taught! You are amazing, and very inspiring! ❤
Hi there, Steve, and thank you! I missed sooo many things, I know 😅how could I not include the torch!!! 👀 that's why we will have more specific videos 😅😅 thank you for your support, always very thankful, to see that 🙏
Nice, thank You. I will see the next others parts of this serie. You will talk about the bench, right? And the buying materials part, right? And the selling, right? 😃.... ...and I cannot not tell that You are such a super beauty! Ciao!
Oh wow this is fantastic. I've self learned / taught woodworking and resin turning so I completely get this view! You are REALLY making me want to branch out into silversmithing!!!
Its nice to have a resource that helps you learn faster, make fewer rookie mistakes and, ultimately, waste less money buying things you don't need to start the process.
Thanks for changing this video. A series on tools for this hobby/business is a great idea. I watch Makenzie Hallie for the stained glass videos and have learned a lot about the process (though I don't currently do stained glass the knowledge is still good to have access to). The same applies here and, more significantly, as I am learning to cut opals I might someday need this knowledge set.
Just subscribed. I am brand new to jewelry making (just had the interest a couple weeks ago) and started buying some very basic tools to get started. I am doing stone wire wrapping at the moment bc it seems to be the 'easiest' thing to do to start. Eventually i want to learn to make jewelry using silver. I am also going the self taught route , so this video was very helpful thank you !
I have two questions : 1. Are you drawing first of your drawing and then reflecting on the metal ? 2. What is the brand of your jewelry making drill machine and how much is it .?
Have you ever worked with silver clay? I graduated from clay to proper silversmithing about two years ago. Clay is very versatile, but it has limits. Please, more long videos like this, not just the “reels” and short videos.
If you can't use your Foredom, can you charge batteries? Maybe you can use one of those rechargeable Dremels. It may not be wildly convenient, but it MIGHT work for your situation. I'm a tool junky also. I build all sorts of things (not just jewelry) and I hate being limited by my tools.
excellent video! you are the only one to expose the essential tools without putting too much into it, it's great you are right, less information is better, thank you for that. I am also self-taught in France, I also learn drawing for mandala like your earring on your Instagram account. A video for the materials before spending on the money which is expensive would be perfect. thank you for your super inspiring and unusual work and sorry for my English ❤️
Appreciate that soo much, thank you! 🙏 and yes I think too much information usually works in a bad direction, haha, talking from my experience, for sure 😅 best wishes to France 💜
thank you for sharing all those informations, it is kinda generous how ever for a start is it the same pronciples with all kind of metals, silver glod etc?
Amazing!😊👌 I have been waiting for this to happen🙏 I sometimes make stuff from silver, but I'm into so many different materials, and I can't just do one😊 So my knowledge about jewellry making is a bit on the low side😊 I love the things you make, and now it seems we're all getting to know more from you🙏 Thank you for doing this😊👌🙏
According substitute of boring machine (you use Foredome as I understand). Last time I saw some guys using nails boring machine it's compact and not so expensive.
Labas, nice video.
Super informative and helpful video, thank you so much! I've only been working with steel wire so far (using my hands and pliers) but want to get into/learn more about soldering, polishing.. and so on! Do you have any recommendations for vise benches, and what qualities to look out for? I'm a big believer in buying more expensive tools once rather than cheap ones more often (which will prob make the work way more difficult haha).
Hi! Thank you! When it comes to bench vise, I would say you have to look for something suitable for your working size (how big of pieces you will be making). It has to be sturdy enough to hold it and good for securing it in, and of course strong enough to handle all hammer beating, if you are willing to do some, haha 😅 I will talk about it more on some RU-vid video in a future 😊
I really enjoy your videos! They eye-blink! Fantastic! You have a complete different style as my creations, but I watch it with respect? Maybe we can combine our skills in a future video if you like?!
