It’s the demo that people go crazy for (by people I mean uncle Dave who harps on it a lot). It’s worth the most with advertisements, so I’m told. I mean I’m no fan of Fox News but they get WAY more views in terms of older people, I know Tucker Carlson and Hannity were getting 2-3 million a few weeks back and yeah, AEW struggles to get past 1. We never used to judge the ratings like this with the Monday Night wars. I understand that demographics and technology change, it just seems pretty picky to me.

Why would any company be beating WWE after like 2 years of existing? Overall, with who they've signed, the TNT deal, the PPV and merch sales, etc...they're seemingly doing very well as a company. They don't have to beat WWE to succeed. In terms of being an "alternative", they've become that, especially lately. It's not just punk and Danielson being there, but how they are featured. You're having whole shows primarily made up of segments that are fantastic. The product is improving, the young guys are being featured well, the main event level guys are the main event level guys. Just because the ratings have gone back down a bit, doesn't mean the show is "getting worse." It's not.

Agreed on the former but I think you're missing his point a tad on the latter, he said that we had informed viewpoints from multiple sources that we could previously use to form an opinion with more credibility (there are respectable people to follow in mass media, much like anything it's not all a dumpster fire, despite clear bias or a political lean in certain places). Instead in recent years, someone just says something on Twitter and everyone believes it, ala Trump and his 'fraud election' with zero proof then or since etc. Any other number of scenarios could stand in there. There's too much of the 'All MSM is lies' and too little of the 'But where did twitter guy get his info'? There's no middle ground. People don't verify anything anymore, you see it on Facebook where grown adults are reacting to clickbait headlines and then repeating it as fact without even bothering to read the details of what's an entirely misleading title for ad clicks. And it's very effective. I'm unsure how that ever gets better without educating people on basic proofreading and source vetting in national education. It's the only thing at higher education levels that's genuinely useful to everyone, especially these days, understanding source validity.
