WCW Monday Nitro promoted WCW Saturday night better than AEW promoted Battle of the Belts. You'd at least see a quick 30 second promo with Tony Schivanie telling who was on the show and some of the matches taking place, including a main event that was usually pretty solid sounding and they would play this a few times throughout the show

Completely agree Brian. Jamie Hayter is the top worker on the women roster. Caught some of her on a women's promotion in England. Then its Kris Statlander. They take bumps well, strong style because they probably wrestled grown adult males. Then you put Jade Cargill with experienced girls that will teach her on the fly. Mercedes Martinez, Leila Gray they have a really really good roster

God when they announced they were doing Battle of the Belts in a new promotion that had some really good talents that I knew. Had been watching awhile. An got to enjoy some other talents that I wasn't familiar with. An in recent years had come to discover CWF/NWA super cards Battle of the Belts 1-3. Which I felt were like finding top notch territory era gems that I had no clue about or ever heard of other than the Windham vs Flair main event at the 2nd one. I was SO over the top hopeful that this was gonna be a modern day version of those shows or the original Dusty booked Clash of Champions show that made Sting. An stood toe to toe with Mania 4 and outdid it at times for free. Certainly producing the best match of the day/night. They had said it was gonna stay on TNT and be booked as a pay per view for free. How do you then book it as a one hour show??? I know it most certainly hurt that Cody missed the original show. An left right afterwards. Brian made a great point that I think they just have to much going on. He had never booked any promotion for real now he's booking the number 2 company in the United States bought a 2nd. That was not long ago the 2nd biggest it's self. TK is good and bad. In the start I wanted to see the good. An I still do. Just have gotten more realistic with it. They most certainly shouldn't of let Cody go unless there is more to it by FAR than I am aware of. If your only gonna go an hour it is 9 out of 10 times gonna be a throw away show and in this era not be worth watching live. I liked the Jamie Hayter vs Thunder Rosa match. But only saw it directly before I listened to this now. I do not like or understand the ways TK has booked Jay Lethal and Jonathan Gresham in AEW and especially ROH? Okay I can understand using Lethal to put over and make look good doing it a upcoming potential monster. But one night on Dynamite they had Mox vs Lethal in the 2nd match on the card without ever saying it was booked or advertising it on the lead up to the show??? 2 former world champions in the 2nd match on Dynamite? Why wouldn't that be on pay per view? Battle of the Belts? Or for God's sake let people know they may want to see it? That could of been a main event of an ROH pay per view I would of bought with the right build. TK needs to bring in a committee or at least be like here's dynamite you got any suggestions. He has guys under contract that are skilled at this. For a smart and successful young man whom is blessed and living his dream. He comes across at times like my toys my way don't like it don't watch. An that is a stupid way to run any business especially one where you may well be a big fan but everyone even very experienced bookers bounce stuff and need help don't be too good to take help with something that important to your life. Unless your not worried that it stay that way long term.

Does Tony Khan do any research at the fan level on what people want to see,? several years ago at the Chicago Amphitheater I and a team used to take surveys during the matches to see how the fans enjoy the match.

I think Britt needs to cost Hayter a few matches, so Hayter turns face. Then she'd be the one to beat Jane Cargill.

Aew really dropped the ball everything they do is rushed and there no real storylines. Dynamite and thunder look the same. They have Cm punk, byran Danielson, in the meanless matches. They have half of bullet club and they did nothing with it. Njpw atleast used them better.

One Of Jim Cornett's nicest down to earth critiques. I feel Tony Khan in some instances is too involved with so much work that he doesn't realize these mistakes. But it's important to deliver a better show for a Saturday prime time event, for a better rating. To assure a better deal. Jim Cornett pointed out all that was needed to make this event worth watching.

It did a rating along the lines of NXT on a Saturday night . There is nothing wrong with that. The show was promoted on aew tv and on the RU-vid shows. The RU-vid shows each get 200k views plus and can be accessed any time . People watch tv and shows differently in this day and age.

I don't think Khan will give up the book because that's the point for him - he's not just an entrepeneur trying to make money, he's someone spending money to put on his dream matches and book what he thinks is cool. Brian’s right about one thing: these matchups are just thrown together with no real rhyme or reason. As great as Claudio vs. Takeshita was, why would I care to see it? We didn’t even know that Takeshita was even in contention for the ROH title!

Dutt should have been setting up the table while Singh and Lethal held Wardlow, then officials should have stopped them from putting Wardlow through the table, with the heels being led out them while Wardlow recovered and promised revenge. And it should have happened before the title match. Am I wrong? Maybe a baby face tag team makes the save to set up a three on three with Wardlow versus Lethal for the title belt being the end goal?

You'd think with people like JR, regal and others being at AEW they'd be way more on the ball by now. Its ironic that the things that create these shows are also the things destroying them.

Yeah felt bad for Jay Lethal as the sacrificial dummy for Wardlow. I can see him being used to train Wardlow but it really does no one any good. Jamie Hayter has been someone I've really gotten to like over the year. The one thing that I like about her is her personality that she shows. She knows how to work a crowd and actually can talk, but they don't allow her very often because Britt is mouthing off. They're putting too much emphasis on Anna Jay, Tay Conti and Julia Hart for no good reason; those girls have zero personality and are just flat out boring. Jamie has got some decent experience wrestling in England, Japan and the states. She's still young, has decent size, got herself into shape and can hit hard. But they've just left her into jobber purgatory in the shadow of Britt. Maybe Britt is the better promo of the two but not by much and definitely she's not as good as a worker as Jamie. I have to be honest about the main even though. I liked it. I know Cornette has written Takeshita off because of his involvement in DDT. But that's more of a DDT problem (and that federation is weird anyway). But Takeshita has some decent talent. Claudio was great too. I'd trade Takeshita and sign him to AEW and get rid of the whole Dark Order. At least when Takshita is given a chance to perform, he does well and doesn't goof off here.

I look at Bobby Lashley...when he first won the WWE title, ratings went up. Now after he kept it, dropped it, got it back, beat Brock, lost it again and then turned face, Lashley is getting Attitude Era like pops! He is a legit needle mover!

Looking at it in a way anyone who knows anything about Jim in recent times, this is how it should have played out. Wardlow SHOULD be booked like Leviathan "The Demon" of the deep, and Jay Lethal should be AEW's Shelton Benjamin! They are both that good if booked that way! Both are excellent athletes, but are made to look like jobbers... 🤷🏼‍♂️

that death before dishonor pay per view was the first time a saw a full show without a total stinker nothing stood out as spectacular either but it was a breath of fresh air to enjoy a full show without thinking about leaping from my 8th story window.

Gimme a roster of about 30-35 guys. 1 World Title, 1 mid title, 1 tag team title, and 1 woman's title. Use local indie guys as jobbers and watch title and star vs star matches on pay per view. Add some solid stories to program What is so hard about that ffs?

I agree with Cornette on the concept of 1-2 big matches on these shows, UFC style, i miss this presentation. Then i went to AEW roster page, male roster have 105! people in it, with 2 hours of Dynamite you just can't showcase them properly. Then i tried to count the guys who i am interested in at all (>0%) and people interested in (for example i don't like Young Bucks or Miro or Danhausen or Santana and Ortiz, but i counted them, because it looks like fans give some sh*t about them) and i finished with 55 guys, this means half of this roster can be released today and fans will barely notice. And then from this 55' you can make something around 45, where everyone can have some direction and some story going on. I'am not a fan of people loosing jobs, but when it is impossible to feature them more than 10 minutes in a month on your main show, you can as well just release and free them to do their thing somewhere else.
