JIM CROCE's Famous Farmhouse & Grave | Lyndell, PA 

It´s been 50 years today .... Just imagine all the songs Jim & Maury would still have given the world??!! I was introduced to his music when I was 19. Am 64 now and still love his music. Greetings from Germany.

In My Opinion Thousand percent hands down one of the Greatest Singer/Song Writer's of His or Any Era!!!!

Croce and Chapin: Best guitarist/storytellers of the 70s. The greater body of Jim's works elicits great depth of feeling...kind of like blues emanating from a cloud. His lyrics helped, even healed me repeatedly in the 70s--and continue to move me more than most others to this day. Thanks, Jim and Ingrid.

Jim was a story teller. I remember when he passed. He had a newborn son at the time. Heartbreaking. He died far to soon. An absolute Legend!

Jim died the year i was born but I've listened to his songs all my life. I have several of them on my music on my iphone. I lost my son in 2010, and time in a bottle was one i picked for his funeral. A great singer, still to this day... and will still be going strong years from now. Rest in peace Jim !!!!

He was so so very talented . I remember when he passed. Way too soon.

Jim's songs are so timeless. It's like he plucked them from the collective unconciousness. They had always been there, but Jim had the insight to hear, see and reveal them!

At the time of Jim's death, I was teaching high-school English. One of my students was a serious Jim Croce fan. I have never see a young man so distraught. I am still sad about his loss and the pain his family and fans suffered.

"Time in a bottle " was a great song his other were great as well, his music will live on, thanks for sharing this about Jim he was a good sing he had a rough life growing up. Thanks for the history Jordan..👍🙂 he reminds me of Cat Stevens like Jim is our American version of Cat Stevens.

Just goes to show you Jordan that good music doesn’t die! It’s amazing that fifty years later you can still hear his music on the radio!

Jim was my absolute favorite of all time. Sure do miss him. His music will continue to make him a legacy. I was 13 and cried my eyes out when I heard of the plane crash.

Never a day passes where I don't play there music on my guitar or listen to there albums. Jim and Maury were special musicians and people like them don't come along too often. All the songs the world has missed because of their tragic passing staggers me. What a terrible loss.

I interviewed him for my college radio station the year he died when he performed in Ithaca, NY. The concert was terrific and he was the most amiable person I ever interviewed and very generous with his time.(as he enjoyed a cigar) I remember we spoke for almost an hour one on one. When I heard of the plan crash, I felt I had lost a friend. I took the loss very personally. Thanks for doing such a respectful job here. Great to know the younger folks appreciate what a talent he was.

I loved Jim Croce's songs and was heartbroken when I found out he died in that plane crash. You are right his songs are timeless and I still love them today. They take me right back to the 70's. Dead at 30 just tragic. Thank you for sharing, Jordan.

Great video & story! I went to the school of creative & performing arts in San Diego with AJ! He’s a real good person & he was already a musician when I was in high school! He actually wrote me a song too!😎🎶🎼🎵🎤🤩I also remember I didn’t know who AJ’s Dad was until a teacher told me about the song Time in a Bottle. I wasn’t into that kind of music at the time, but now I love that song!💖

Thank you so much for this video. I am from Pennsylvania. I grew up listening to Jim Croce amongst other 70s artists (class of 1979). My mom (RIP 🙏) was a big fan and so am I. We were just heartbroken to learn of his death. My mom would have loved to see this video. Every time I hear his songs, I think of my mom who shocked me when I heard her singing "Bad Leroy Brown" because she was from the Big Band era. I didn't think she was paying attention to contemporary music. 😃 RIP Jim 🧡🙏

My Uncle Charlie frequented many of the west Chester’s local bars. One night Jim Croce came into the bar and asked who owned the pick up with a guitar in the back. My uncle acknowledged it was his and Jim asked if he’d like to play with him. So they played the night away. I would have loved to be a fly on the wall that night.

Funny story I read about Jim Croce was that he worked in a school as a special education teacher, and was singing his songs in the classroom, and the school board did not like it, and so they fired him, which propelled him into making music.

They had a great life together, many live a lifetime without having love and success like they did

I remember my mom crying when she heard of the crash. Then I remember the local radio station playing Jim's songs all day over and over soon after. Such talent lost. I grew up just down the road in Delaware and lived 5 years just up the road in Pottstown. I hope you visited Marsh Creek SP while you were there. We used to sailboard there. Great paddle boarding too.

I was 11 when he died. I can still remember being at Perimeter Mall with my mother and saw one of his albums, I called my mothers attention to it but could not pronounce his last name, some young couple near us, the young lady turned to me smiling and said Croce. I still have that album.

Jim Croce was not only a fine singer but he also wrote great songs AND in my opinion could play a guitar with anybody.

He and his music meant so much to me. Gone too soon!

As a child of the 70s, I grew up hearing his music when I was a little kid. My best friend Johnny's mother was young and had been in college in the 60s and had Simon and Garfunkel, Mamas & the Papas, Jim Croce, etc. This was a great video. RIP Jim Croce

I'm sure that in time, justice for his royalties would've been realized. but he lived, as Jordan said, for the music. I remember the day he died. he really had just broke big time. Wikipedia has his origin as Sicilian 100%. didn't know that.

I grew up right up the road from here about 1 or 2 miles. Glad to see Lyndell being recognized as part of Jim's history. At 10:15, if you looked to your left, there is a bridge that my dad always told me that his oldest brother had seen Jim practice his guitar growing up. I also have heard that my grandfather thought he was just another "dirty hippy" at the time when they saw him practicing haha. I have heard from older locals in the area growing up that the greenhouse that is also to the left of you at 10:15 is where Jim worked for a brief time. Unfortunately, people that were around in that time period in the area are slowly passing away. Not many locals left in the area to pass these stories down anymore. Great video.

Love Jim Croce! Not many of my friends know who he is or his songs. I sing “Time in a Bottle” to my infant son a lot. This is a neat place for us to go see someday! I didn’t know about it. So sad he died so young. I also love his song “Operator” and “I’ll Have to Say I Love You in a Song”

jordan just to correct you a bit the 1973 documentary clip you referenced was actually filmed at a different farmhouse the croces were renting a few miles from lyndell in wagontown pa not at this farmhouse. thank you for this though because we all love jim croce here in the delaware valley . Please consider a feature on the life of jims partener maury muehleisen who lived nearby in trenton nj and actually released an album in 1969 before meeting Jim . His sister Mary has a tribute page dedicated to Maury's memory 9n facebook and she is in the process of writing a bio about maury and jim and is living history concerning the short and wonderful career of jim and her brother......she's facinating and has a photographic memory of the details of their lives and times. @Daze with Jorsan the Lion, rank you for doing a video on this great singer. Anytime "Time In A Bottle" plays anywhere, my heart breaks a little more each time and I find myself explaining how the music company robbed him of the money he deserved for all of his hard work.

Thnx Jordan: this answers many questions I had about this talented guy- I have no doubt Jim would have had a career much like James Taylor and the like, but aviation took a few of our greatest way to soon!

“The Ranch” is legendary to us old musicians. Many of the greats from that era would hang there and write ,or just get away .. And just FYI most musicians make the same pay today as Jim did in the 70’s. You’ve got to really love it to make it your life. And you had better be a Jack of all trades if you want to eat . 🤠🎸🎶✌️
