Best boots ever. I have 4 pairs of those, all different leathers, ready to order the next pair in green houston leather. Excellent purchase. Enjoy them!
I have 3 Jim greens. I have one just like the first pair you showed. My newest pair is the barefoot shoes jim green recently came out with and I love them.
Love my JG boots! Just got a pair of the AR8s and noticed that they are fully leather lined inside with calf leather. Very soft and comfortable. I prefer more sleek boots for style but the AR8s don't need it since they look awesome as is. The wide toe box is nice and roomy and doesn't feel like my feet are restricted in any way like some of the sleeker styles feel sometimes. I have an average foot size (not really wide or slim) and I still enjoy the extra space very much. If you want a very well made leather boot that will last a long time but don't want to spend more than $200-ish, I highly recommend Jim Green as an option. If you want a more stylish/dressy boot for the same quality and price, I recommend Thursday Boot Co. I have several pairs from both companies and have had no issues with them and love to wear all of them. My AR8s have been so great, no break in really, very comfortable, grippy too. I can tell they are probably my most durable/tough boots I own so far. Jim Greens are fantastic boots.
"101" "101"! 😂 Came for your JGreen boot review, Stayed and also enjoyed one of my favorite BlueGrass groups Blue Highway you recorded! Hello from Ct. Nice Job!
i have the same exact boot. even with gel insoles they are very hard under foot and it feel those ridges on the soles on the balls of my feel. i wore them daily for a couple of weeks and then decided i would either resole them or sell them on ebay because they just aren't that comfortable. I had my cobbler switch the soles to vibram 2060 sports soles, which are much softer and MUCH lighter. each size 9 shoe now weighs 1.1 pound! i'm happier with them now. they are just OK after spending $90 on the resole but i would not buy them again
Sorry to hear that they weren't the shoe for you. That's the way it goes. I've worn mine every day since I got them. Even put them through the paces of mowing my yard and mulching leaves yesterday. (I don't have a riding mower.😄) They felt fine and cleaned up really well.
I’ve been wearing a pair of the African Rangers in black for a little over a month now and changed out the insoles with the leather lined cushioned ones offered on their website. They have gotten so comfortable in the past month. I use them for work but am debating on getting a pair for everyday wear. I will say I think the outsole could be a little more durable as it seems to be taking a beating on concrete and asphalt at work.
The African Rangers seem to fit more closely to the foot and are lighter due to the different sole. The Vellies have the dense, gum rubber sole. Both are very comfortable.
