From lie, serendipity, filter, set me free pt2, like crazy, Jimin always challenges various genres. & Trying various vocal ranges, the stage performance is also speechless.
Nice reaction, I like your fascination for Jimin and how you defy the envious and haters by stating the facts. So many vocal coaches have praised Jimin's voice, that's why I can't read this bullsh*t anymore about Jimin not being able to sing. Nowadays it is difficult to find a voice among singers that sounds special and unique, a voice that enchants with elegance and softness as well as power. Personally, I'm picky and have always liked uniqueness. Today's singers sound too mainstream for me. That's why I loved Jimin's voice from the beginning, it has a beautiful sound. And if we also consider that Jimin wasn't a singer at the beginning, just a dancer and that, unlike the others, he had the shortest training time as a trainee and had to teach himself everything within 6 months where the others had years, then his voice is even more magnificent. He had to catch up on everything in a short time and despite requesting, he didn't get any singing lessons from the company. It’s sad people can’t appreciate such a unique and amazing voice. Not saying he’s like Michael Jackson but he has that high pitch voice and great dancing. We all know people love to hate on MJ. Jimin was named king of kpop for the last 5 years. Seems fitting that king of pop and king of kpop have several similarities. I personally love Jimin. He’s so talented and captivating. he just commands a stage. I think he’s been nicknamed stage commander. Jimin has that X factor. You can’t help but be absolutely enamoured with him. I think BTS also said that they first got noticed because of Jimin’s acrobatics. RM once said that Jimin has the ability to captivate people and that he is the axis of their stage. I think it’s so true.
Love Jimin together with you as Jimin defenders!!! this one backing vocals were used just because of the layers of voices in the song. not only the vocals he practiced hard, the choreo too, watch behind the scene & he actually practiced trying to chance in that split seconds in the middle to change clothes but he ended up chose to prerecord that part & put it in to still create the effect. He's too good that so many male artists agree they just could not recreate the same vocals along with his dance style. (plus that's not One TV network XDDD it's the concert name: Map of the Soul ON:E )
Jimin was the Top student in Modern/Contemporary dance department in his school. His voice has a unique charm I have never heard before. Jimin is the best performer I have seen. His stage presence, dance, vocals, expressions make him look even more attractive

ON:E was one of their online pandemic concerts. The costume switch was actually an edit. The original intention was to do the switch live with layered rip-away clothing. He tried and tried to make it work in practice, but couldn’t do it quite fast enough and the extra bulk made his movement less fluid and expansive than he wanted.

“What sorcery is this?” 🤣🤣🤣 He really , REALLY tried to do that quick change in real time, but he couldn’t quite get it. Plus Jimin said wearing one outfit over another was heavy and hard to dance in. This was a filmed performance so they did a quick cut. You can find practice videos of him trying it for real though! i got a video that said because his voice cracked and it shows ONE video of his voice doing it during a tour... like people are delulu if they think no singer voice doesnt crack every once in a while

Aside from saying in the song that I can be anything you (army) want me to be for you, I believe that Jimin is also trying to tell so many army that keep saying things like he's insecure, weak, or helpless, and needs protecting, or just cute or sexy, or just any one thing, whatever army indeed wants to think he is, isn't the real him! That he wears whatever 'filter' that army wants him to be, but indeed in reality is so not him!! That's why army are continually surprised when they see a glimmer of the real Jimin, the way more self assured, demonstrative, take charge, confident, charismatic, alluring, at times sexy, person that kills on stage! So this (pure genius) song, that the CEO 'Hit-Man Bang' (called that since way back when, as a producer, whatever he was involved in became a hit) Mr. Bang Si Hyuk, himself, was actually involved in writing the ever so genius lyrics, that Jimin had a hand in as well. The song's lyrics have more then one meaning!! So Jimin has pretty much been doing this since the beginning, playing the role of whatever army seems to prefer for him, but in actuality, hardly anyone knows the real Jimin! So much more then what many army believe him to be. Plus since Jimin never talks much about all his amazing past achievements, abilities, and accomplishments, even before ever joining BTS, many army are still unaware of so much.
I love this perfirmance. Jimin rehearsed so much to perfect this performance. He timed the outfit change with no camera cut. BTS did their solos two nights in a row. His outfit was a different color the second time.

Filter is THE Jimin Effect performance. Hands down. ON:E was one of their concerts that had to go virtual due to the pandemic. And they absolutely KILLED the whole performance and production. It's a shame because that would have such an experience live, and you could see that they were adjusting to performing without the energy of a live audience. But nevertheless, they absolutely ATE and left no crumbs.
I would do anything to make him watch the MAMA 2019 performance 😭😭😭 plsssss watch it Its soooo worth the time and you will be so stunned to even speak 😭
That was definitely for us. The one two punch of Filter and My Time, I almost didn't survive. Jimin's Lie is my all-time fave. And, yes, that man can dance. This reminds me of Prince. Sexy, sexy, sexy. 😘💜🫰🏻🫶🏻
In the behind the scenes of this filming, they did try to do the quickchange live, but found that he couldnt do it in the time given, and the layers of the clothes were too hot and bulky. So when they filmed, they cut at that moment, Jimin changed his outfit (and changed his hair) and then went back to film the rest. I still think it turned out great and they hid the cut very well!!
They hid it so well that it really does look like magic! I know he was disappointed he couldn't pull it off but it was being pretaped anyway, so I'm glad they took advantage of it

"you're the one who made me" is one of the lyrics and I always've thought it describes the song's meaning best. and yeah, he sounds really good here, even though the sound of the recording could be better at certain parts...

First of all: Thank you for the respect and love you give to BTS and their art! Second: the change of dress. In this online concert, Jimin was recorded, so they simply stopped the track and let him resume after changing clothes. BUT the black trousers/white shirt that he had on are clearly made to be stripped off by the backup dancers (You can see the velcro if you zoom in) and he had the red dress (or the purple one of the second day) already under those dresses. The jacket is probably pinned on the back of the mannequin and the red shirt has no back or sleeves and it's folded at the waist, so while the backup dancers strip him of the black trousers and white shirt he just have to unfold the red shirt and button it on the back of the neck and grab the jacket from behind the mannequin and wear it. Tadaaa! Magic 💜
Just to add a little bit to this awesome explanation, Jimin really wanted to do the switch live and was disappointed he couldn't get it done and they had to cut. But, yes, he was changing FAST!!
If you poured over any performer/s multitude of performances, you will find an occasional missed or bad notes. And that is normal, I will give up absolutely perfect for the passion and Joy of a live performance. These guys, as well as any performer go on stage regardless of being sick, tired, sore, or even just in a bad mood; most of the time we will never know. OMG they are often huffing pure oxygen back stage. I was at 2 local concerts this weekend, and guess what, they made some mistake with lyrics. The audiences didn't walk out, didn't throw things at the stage, or boo anyone. We chuckled with the performers and clapped. One group had been together for 40+ years. BTS sound better live, the energy and love they get from ARMYs is felt in there performance.

❣Jimin, growing up, since quite young age, even pre mid school, was always into hip hop & r&b music. Aside from Rain, Taeyang, & BoA, Korean idols, known not just for amazing vocals, but their dance ability, Jimin was also heavily influenced, with other role models, such as Chris Brown, & Usher. So it goes to follow he’d also appreciate other equally well known artists who also were amazing dancers & performers aside from vocal ability. It also goes without saying that Jimin, was indeed heavily influenced by MJ. He even taught Jin to moon dance for Dynamite MV, also Jimin was the one that suggested other MJ moves also for BTS song “Dynamite”. Jimin already at early age of 10, started studying hip hop at the renowned Just Dance Academy, in Busan, city where Jimin’s from, which teaches all the many different styles of hip hop. There is even a post made that shows a performance where young again 11 Jimin in 2007, not only performed already, on right front side of stage, but later on went in front and did a solo. JIMIN also competed, excelling in popping, & isolation moves, winning every competition. JIMIN also since a little boy, trained 8 yrs in various forms of martial arts: Taekwondo (blackbelt), Hapkido, Kendo, & Chinese martial arts. Side Note: When learning Taekwondo, as a little boy, I believe Jimin said that doing the splits was one of the first things required to be able to do. He said that he'd put his legs split, up against the wall for quite long, hrs at a time. This was aside from still attending middle school Jimin, where he was already into all kinds of sports, including being part of soccer team,, but also basketball, even joined after school billiards, also excelling in track & field throughout his schooling. Then, while going to Busan Highschool of the Arts, he then also studied & performed contemporary. Media even called Jimin “The rising star of Busan” after seeing Jimin perform on stage during a huge festival. JIMIN also studied, some ballet as well as even traditional Korean dance. But Jimin’s main love was always hip hop. Though he did enjoy dancing contemporary, which Jimin indeed excels at, to this day all his dance movements, have his exquisite body placement, amazing elegant, poised, clean lines, as well as he also always stands, even without dancing, with out-turned feet, his foot positions always end up while dancing in classical out turned foot position, placement that classically trained dancers have. Jimin found he could express himself even more through contemporary dance. Very few dancers have the ability to dance as many styles of dance as well as have the ability to incorporate all of them, even his gravity defying, martial arts, moves in his dance. There’s a reason Jimin was not only give the official title of Main Dancer & Lead Vocalist, but has been awarded the prestigious titles for 5 yrs In a row, Best Dancer in Kpop, as well as 5 yrs King of Kpop. Jimin is called Stage Commander for a reason, his stage presence is on another level. Jimin is also called “Rookies Bible” because all rookies look up to him, watching his erformances. over & over, trying to emulate, & learn from his unmatchable, flawless, precise moves. So many trainees & rookies choose his songs to try to copy when competing, though even without singing, but just focusing on dance, always still fail to even come close.
Hello, you have a great voice, I hope you can achieve your goals! Ilove BTS, they are great and inspiring. This performance was for their online concert Map of the Soul ON:E during the pandemic in October 2020. There is a Bangtan Bomb where we can see Jimin practicing with layers of clothes for the change that we see in the performance, but it was difficult to make it in 3 seconds, and the members suggested that, as it was going to be pre-recorded anyway, that a cut was made. And that was what happened, no sorcery :) Please excuse any english errors, not my first language.
