Jimmy Nail at The Auf Wiedersehen Pet 40th Anniversary in Newcastle

This was at the 40th anniversary bash . Jimmy Nail made a surprise appearance,, it was kept very hush hush., and was announced on stage before the showing of the first episode of auf wiedersehen pet to coincide with the same time as when it was first aired ... 9pm 11th November 1983 .
Apologies for sound , this is the best we could do.
Apart from the 30 seconds prior to this starting, this is the whole appearance from Jimmy. Nobody saw or met him before , and a lucky handful , maybe only a couple got a handshake and picture. He left the building straight away. A little disappointed he didn't hang around to meet the fans , but as he said , it's Lesley Saint-John who's great at all the things he's crap at ,,, as Lesley always has time to talk with fans... its just not Jimmy's thing. 🤷‍♂️

Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais wrote this masterpiece of British television. Both still alive into their mid 80s and apparently still writing. I’d love to see more of this fantastic series but without Bomber and Wayne it just wouldn’t be the same. Thank god for you tube because I still regularly watch it and often see the boom mic coming into shot but I still love it!

As I was walking into a local pub in South-east London I bumped into Timothy Spall (Barry) and I must of met him before but could not remember when? but his knew my name that was in the late 1990's when he lived in the area. My mum loved Kevin Whatley (Neville) and Tim Healy (Dennis) because she loved the accent and was married to a Geordie. YI PET.

Its a shame Jimmy Nail prefers not to interact with the fans much. anyone wanting an autograph or ask him something on his way out he's off like a shot. ive heard a lot of people say they were disappointed with how he will usually avoid people rather than have a little chat. on the other hand ive heard that Tim Healey is the exact opposite and is happy talk to people on the street. they say he's a very friendly bloke. Jimmy could do with a bit of coaching in PR.

@daniellancaster4419 8 месяцев назад
Yep I totally agree.. it Is a shame cos obviously he's gonna have fans wanting to meet him , and when he turned up on stage here at the 40th I thought we'd cracked it ,,,, surely he'll give a bit of time for pictures with the people who basically got him to where he is . I'm not taking away the talent, but it's the fans that support him which is what he should be grateful for , ,,, I'm sure he is , but just doesn't show it in the way the others as you said like Tim healy does. Iv met him a few times , as I have lesley,, both great people,,,always got time for the fans.
