Another nice reaction to Jinjer.... Josh. The drummer in this video and for the "King of Everything" album is Dimitry Kim. He was a "fill" in drummer, (by his choice) until they could find a permanent replacement after their prior drummer Eugene Mantulin had a horrific accident when he fell from a 3rd story balcony and crushed his spine. I don't know it for a fact, but I believe he became paralyzed after the accident from what I read. So Dimitriy "filled" in. Funny because he's also a fantastic drummer. Vlad came along as is now their permanent drummer, but Dimitriy is still involved with Jinjer in the sound engineering side. Anyhow, keep doing your thing Josh, and Stay Metal. 🤘🤘🤘🎶🎶🎶🎶

I watched an interview with the guys and Eugene said that Ryan, the bassist of Mudvayne was his biggest inspiration. Before I saw that interview I felt a lot of Mudvayne which I love. Love your reactions!!

Their Mudvayne influence is obvious, but holy haysoos, u mentioned A Lot Like Birds!! Sacramento, California USA in the house. U are the ONLY YT reactor I've seen who's done Jinjer & made that connection. SUCH an underrated band. I worked at a local Sacramento music store with Ben & Joe back in the day. They are 2 of the most chill & down to earth guys u could ever meet. Sadly they decided to disband in 2018. New subscriber here...

Yes, this was shortly after she got rid of the dreads and before the Pisces live session (unless I’m mistaken). There’s a behind the scenes video for this one that you might want to check out in your spare time. I suspect the live in Kiev suggestions are for either On the Top or Retrospection. 😊 (Oops, maybe Pit of Consciousness)

Another clue to the era this video is from is the different drummer - the guy on drums in this video was a stand-in/temporary member (for a while though) and is now a top sound engineer who still works with Jinjer. Sound engineering is his passion, very good drummer too. Current drummer is Vlad Ulasevich who is utterly epic of course. Mad technical skills and something of a theory-crafter. Oh, and... good reaction. More please.

I'll click on any Jinjer reaction you put up dude. Always thoughtful and observant so it's interesting to see what your take away from the songs. Both On The Top or Pit of Consciousness live Kiev are, in fact, bangers. They're honestly quite different to Jinjer but they happen to top of mind so I'm just mention that you've got to react to the studio one take vocals for The Beauty of Suffering Spiritbox did some time.

Fun reaction. Glad you are doing better. I love that this is a love song she wrote as a "call to the universe" to find someone she's mentally and spiritually compatible with. With death growls, of course. The behind the scenes making of video is a ton of fun. Perennial at Wacken is fire - looking forward to it.

In a way this song doesn't have a chorus for the first half at least. The chorus is the end of the song. An odd song structure as you mentioned. But my favorite ending of all of their songs.

At 4:50 when they went almost quiet it was like deftones. Deftones is what you are looking for. Out of order but for a purpose.

Epic, epic journey, musically, lyrically and visually. These guy have so much diferent tricks up their sleeves, it´s a thing of beauty. You should really react to "Judgement & Punishement" for a big twist brilliantly pulled of by the band. Either the official video or live in Melbourne, both are great. Or try "Retrospection", deeply meaningfull song and a great official video. Great reaction and good commentary, keep it up!

Most songs from King Of Everything, Micro and Macro follow the same structure (with expections) It's usually Intro>verse>chorus>verse>chorus>bridge>Extended Bridge>Might actually extended the bridge some more (this one is optional)> outro

Maybe check out a band called Soen , perhaps Covenant ? , more straight up progressive rock , with some definite metal edge. Has the ex drummer of opeth (Martin Lopez)

When are you gonna react to more breaking benjamin? one of the most solid bands of the past two decades I suggest you react to - (so cold). great song definitely one of the most respected bands in hard rock and metal. They have about toured with everybody and mostly always a headliner.

The new-ish Tattoos cost her $26,000 so that tells you how further along their success has gotton since this video. I'm sure she would have got these tattoo's eventually but it is known that she splashed out $26 grand & got the 2 sleeves completed & the entire throat/neck done.

Yeah Jinjer cares about "traditional" song structure about as much as EA cares about making games without microtransactions. Honestly I believe that making a song sound more mainstream to appeal to more people goes against every fiber of their being. Remember that Judgement & Punishment was the first single off their newest album and it is probably the most experimental song on the album.
