@@geekyranjit This is totally a disappoinent from Jio dont u think so? People really wanted cable tv replacement after those increased set top box channel prices
This video should be updated. 1. My TV+ app has lots of channels as I can see, most of channels are there what people watch nowadays. 2. Now it has Netflix and Amazon prime apps 3. There is a setting to set 1080p now. 4. Jio fiber plans provide 3300 GB per month not 100 Gigs, not sure what kind of plan you had for this video. I don't think people would run out 3.3 TB a month even with STB if played at 1080p. 5. It also provides movies and shows not just live TV. 6. Live TV seems not needed at all as the most channels are there in TV+ app. 7. Now the remote has dedicated buttons for Disney+, RU-vid, Voot and Netflix. 8. Voice search is okay and works pretty fine. 9. Jio store is still has very few apps, however a bit more than showed in this video. It is still restricted.
Very slow internet speed on setup box so it buffer when you play hd video secondly very limited fup data are the reason of me canceling the jio fiber plan and instead opt for fier tv stick with seprate wifi thanx!
@@bhanwarlal2007 1... Lagging AF!!! 2. Can't play 4K content from Netflix in my Sony Bravia 4K OLED T.V. 3. You need airtel internet connection, a high one to stream. 4. You need to play additional subscription fee for their aggregated contents.
@@maxpoweroverdrive all these issues are common with jio also, so it turns out that airtel is still better than jio because it has support for much more applications
@@bhanwarlal2007 lemme give you explanation. These are few points why airtel xstream is best for now- 1. It's google certified box. So you can get play store and casting features. 2. It has has better ui options. Also it is true hybrid you get to watch live tv so it's more production ready not like half baked product. 3. I am using Airtel xstream wifi also so my monthly rental comes around 1300 rupees which gives me 3 TB data at 100 mbps(which is enough to watch 2-3 full hd video simultaneously without buffering). 3. To use app you need to have active dth connection. So there is 1300 plan for one year where you get ncf (network capacity fee) covered. Now monthly rental gets around 1412 rupees. 4. You get Amazon prime and lots of airtel xstream content free of cost. 5. You can easily install any live tv app and watch live tv through internet. 6. It has google assistant. This one is major differentiating factor. 7. It's and android tv os while jio setup box is android aosp based.( Search internet for difference).
I am surprised that Jio gives the JioTV app (which streams almost all of the DTH/cable TV channels) for all their mobile connections for free and for this dedicated set top box, there is no such app and instead they give you JioTV+....? Am I misunderstanding it ? Ranjith can you clarify this...
Data se movie dekhna pta chala... Sara data khatam.... Jb tk unlimited data nhi dega tb tk koi faida nhi. Bahut se broadband wale unlimited plan dete hai... Toh phir jio wale q nhi dete
Well I have bronze plan I only want wifi and wifi is really good 800 for that rather than paying for act 1000 for the same stuff or another network provider also the tv is a complementary
@@mdf345 yeah, if u have an extremely good internet connection, and u download certain mod APk's like oreotv, thoptv and cinema, etc and U will be good to go. But the thing is, these cant provide u the fluidity that DTH gives as U wont be able to quickly switch between channels. So keep that in mind.
@@ManasChachra yeah that's the downpoint. It's only for those who want to save some money and at the same time compromise with the easiness that DTH provides. Btw currently I pay rupees 500 per month for Airtel digital TV and watch only news and English HD channels... and I'm planning to buy an LG oled TV and get a Wi-Fi connection of minimum 60mbps... So now my plan is after buying a new tv ( as my current one is old sony bravia led ) and getting the broadband connection I'll remove the HD channels from my Airtel DTH ala-carte and leave only the free news channels for my father to watch ( that way I think maybe I can reduce my monthly dth bill to 150 to 200 rupees from 500) and at the same watch those HD channels from some OTT app. So can I use both DTH (only for news for my father) and Amazon fire TV (for me to watch hd movie channels) at the same time ? Will it be a good decision? Thanks.
@@mdf345 yes, definitely! Go for it , u wont regret it. U wud be amazed by how much content u were missing since all these days. But my advice is if u are getting a new tv. Then consider getting an android tv, that way u wont need to buy firetv stick. But keep in mind that android tv's have their own problems. So do search for reviews for good tvs on youtube, first.
Yes, in Chennai too, Hathway and ACT are cost worthy than Jio comparing the speed and data volume. It has to be pointed out that Jio TV+ (plus) app they've given is actually Jio TV- (minus) because it doesn't show live channels as Jio TV app on mobile does. The set-top box cannot be considered as a great gift just because it's given free. It is rightly pointed out in this video that it is a data "consumer."
I applied for JIOFIBER relocation on 1st sep, got scheduled on 4th sep, today it's 13th sep & I am still waiting for JIO service engineer, VERY BAD SERVICE. IF I APPLY FOR NEW JIOFIBER CONNECTION, JIO SERVICE ENGINEER WILL COME IMMEDIATELY, WAAAAW IT'S GREATE SERVICE FOR EXISTING CUSTOMERS, thanks jio team.
Bro, are they providing cable service now? One of thier agent called me was convincing me with all sorts of things. He told me they are providing DTH service . All local channels would be available..
Media set top boxes dont make sense anymore. Almost all smart TV's have them built in these days with all the necessary OTT apps. Buying another set top box with its own separate UI and a remote is just adding too many complications on top of what we already have.
@@Ankit-tu5bp using wishnet kolkata freedom 100Mbps true unlimited for 3 months just Rs 1500 (exclude gst) and get ott (hungama) and softphone connection free of cost
I have been using Jio Fibre for a few months and I have very mixed feelings about it It slows down over time since it uses Android Mine has become quite slow The Sonyliv works very well And I feel the plans need to revisited no unlimited plan etc I am a RU-vidr and I use the 200+200Gb plan and I feel that it is less and other plans are quite expensive
Well said Ranjeet.. With Reliance, there's always a catch.. 👏👏 Switched over from their idiotic scheme of paying additional top up over n above the scheme in case of Jio mobile network
Sir just a request, in today's 2020 there are so many players in the market like Jio, Airtel Xtream etc etc and common people are highly confused regarding their features, the differences and similarities so if u can make a video comparing all the major options available in the market like firestick, Jio Setup box, Airtel Xtream etc it will be a boom to the public in making a correct choice! No proper systematic video is available on youtube regarding this as of now!
I'm working for Reliance Jio If personally I'm saying - One day it's best in the market because company continue works on it believe me And I'm unsatisfied from company Because there are too many presher etc
Aliance broadband have good unlimited plans with no data cap rather like jio fiber even you will not able to watch a full match in hd with the data cap they have.
brother thanks a lot for this video, ACT HYDERABAD is good, I thought I would replace 3 floors TV for 3 family WiFi jio broadband , its BIG NO to jio, Mister AmbanisJe has to implement his jio mind according to Indian family standards not American standard setup.
I am watching your videos from the age of 27. Now I am 33 years old. Hats off for your hard work. When I turn 40. You will will have 10M subscribers. Keep going on. Take care of your health also bro. That's more important than anything. Thank you bro. Bye.
@geekyranjit Amazon Prime video, Netflix, Sony LIV, RU-vid and YupTV are working flawlessly on my Samsung Smart TV (2015 model). I never faced any issues related to buffering and lagging. Although I have a 100Mbps connection but hardware also matters. We can't accept performance like Smart TV's with these 'cheap' hybrid set-top-boxes and fire sticks. If these set-top-boxes do what Smart TV does then who will purchase Smart TV's? They are like 'Maruti 800 mai BMW ka engine lagana' 😅 CheapHardware
A box has more space to put in high end components compared to a TV. Set top boxes are only relevant because they allow you to watch TV channels. Smart TVs are expensive because they have a display which costs more than a plastic box.
Jio set top box is useless if you have a good Smart TV. Flimsy plastic remote and trying voice recognition feature is like talking to a 100 year old granny who uses hearing aids
Ak question iss ka use case kaya hay ?? May local ISP sey 600 ka unlimited connection le ke ak smart TV kharid lunga same experience ayega !! Plus sare ghar ka unlimited data mil jayega Kachra Jio.
you are awesome ranjit bro... tech guru.. above all you are a genuine reviewer. Keep it up. Thanks for helping people. These are big corporate scams...exploiting people's need for internet. I support genuine service providers like ActFibre !! so people think, dont just go for offers blindly.
Nice. 👍So, I have this one myself and I face some issues regarding its resolution, picture quality, which also might be due to the tv, but it was not the case with my older tata sky binge. So, what do you suggest? I mean among them, which one is better taking about only the smart TV contents and not the Internet..
Hello ranjit I am watching this video in 2024 and your video is only one i could find which i think is non biased I want to ask should i at this point of time switch to jio air fibre with stb for 700 with gst as replacement for broadband and DTH PLEASE REPLY.
Firestick is the top notch. I have the Chromecast 4k, Android TV 4k and Firestick4k. Firststick is best in quality and sound. HDR and deep blacks are simply superb . Even Chromecast not upto that level.
@@dhruvdesai1910Do you have connection of it? But you'll get member ship for one month only and lots of content already available online. No Netflix, No Amazon prime you also can't side load apps. Only hotstar have good content other apps are of no use. I have jio sim also so watching jio TV is not a big deal for me. It eats data in good qty 200GB data isn't enough people also connect their mobile phones these days software updates are of 2 to 3GB.
As of today I can confirm that voice recognition on tv works really well. They have added amazon prime. They have quite a few live channels as well. If you don't watch a lottttt of cable yv and are interested in ott or you watch a mix of both, this one is for you. Aldo their data cap has increased considerably but the thing is they can chnage that whenever they want like they did with jio sim cards
He is usually genuine but this sounded biased against jio.. This stb is wonderful... I have a airtel xtreme box also for the channels but this box I use for all the apps because it doesn't hang... Its better than any box software or smart TV software.. And it comes free with jio fiber
dude you are using One Plus Q1 Pro TV ? if yes should i buy Q1 55inch Model ? please advise - Thanks in Advance. Also advise me should i wait for MI 5pro Model or any TCL C8 55". reply please.
Hi Ranjit sir, Even I have the same jio fiber in Delhi but I do get to see a lot of cable channels without any cable operator in jio tv. Also there are a lot of pre installed applications, like RU-vid, Amazon prime, hotstar, sony liv and lot more. All working fine. The only problem is you cannot just surf channels one after the other, you have to go back select another channel and so on. You can actually download apps, there is an option for same. Moreover my voice recognition is also good. It's been 3 week I am using and now I think a lot has changed since your post, you also get 400+200GB in 1000 rupees plan.
Cable which is supported in this STB are Hathway and Den in many cities they are replacing old STB with new Jio one. And, this exercise is apparently done in those area where JioFiber is available. Like my friend in West Bengal get this replace with Hathway STB.
can you make a new video in this topic , because i want to know wheather i can watch TV via jiotv app in jio settop box by having 399/- unlimited broadband plan . Also does the jio call app is going to work anywhere or only inside the home premises ?
