That is actually a nice glue job. My speakers never look that nice. A lot of times, the rubber surrounds fall off.

is it just me or is that suspension and spider really soft and not so stiff as many other brands?

So, they made it mount like that to reduce the mounting diameter by an inch or so? Sure, if you need the most bass possible from the smallest possible setup this is the way to go but for me that's a no. No doubt it's a good driver though but never considered one for myself especially for their prices.

Do you have any suggestions for an 8" subwoofer that is 4ohms and around 130w? I would like to replace my Logitech Z623 sub with something more capable, don't mind if I need to do some wood work but I'm not very knowledgeable in wiring. My budget is around $50 (£38) my current option is the DCS205-4 from Dayton Audio.
