Keith your videos are some of the best on RU-vid. Thanks for sharing your information. Sooner or later I’m going to buy one of those $ stones from you.
sucks I'm years late getting into razors and honing ,looks like i missed a lot of good stones no clue who to believe on you tube ,that said you seem to be well informed and expirienced thanks you for the treasure trove of videos
If I keep listening to you I’m going to end up with one of those rocks 🤗 I love my black Arkansas the only drawback I can have a frog hair on it and it’s like running over a great Dane in a Volkswagen 😂
Funny you say that I was trying that the other night for the first time I used some of .5 Micron diamond spray DMT that was the only thing I had available just one small spray and it lasted a very long time I wasn’t sure if I was doing good or doing A heresy any information will be greatly appreciated I normally just use Dawn dish soap and water I don’t like using oil‘s on my stones
You mentioned the frog hair thing - diamond spray makes it feel like driving down a cobblestone road in a horse and buggy. I don't like diamond spray for edges, to me it's a waste of time.
Hi Michael, thanks for noticing, but no changes in gear here . I have been working on repeatedly checking focus and mic placment & gain adjustment though. Seems to help a bit, I just have to remember to do it, lol.
Hi thank you for watching and the compliment also! The phamplet you are looking for is titled "Honing Razors and Wakamisori' - just google that and you'll find it.
Thanks for sharing. Definitely an informative read. Its sort of neat to read on a few techniques or small tips I have already found to work or not work thru trial and error. And, as always its fun to learn something new as well....good stuff
How one finishes is a personal choice. This vid is 3 yr old and I am unable to remember what, if any, other options were employed when it was here. Remember, the one and only rule is to try things to see what works best for you, in your house, with your gear, and your razors. Happy Honing!
@@KeithVJohnson1 sure thing! thanks for reply. i was just curious i guess do most jnats need to be finished on water? im new to them and tryin to learn, can they be that much different than other coticules , thuringians, stones and what nots, even though each of those can be different from one to the other. i was watching this sushi chef sharpen a knife he very quickly polished the bevel with slurry , really cool. he did it so fast i dont even know what he did . i just know he polished it with slurry super fast and it was a mirror just with his slurry.obviously he had a bigger bevel to show off, but still it was cool. im just inquiring because there are soft and hard aiwatani and theres not much i can find on them, and i have a hard aiwatani.ill try slurry and runnin water. thanks!

Really makes me wonder how my okudo compares. I get amazing shaved off of it and I guess that’s what matters but I don’t know if it’s orgasmic compared to others lol.
