I still refer my teams to Kanban in Action as the best book on Kanban. No too esoteric, covers all the topics and is easily consumable by all audiences.
I think that the less the complexity increases, the better it is to deliver products and solutions. Safe adds to the complexity in my opinion. I like using nexus framework because focus on one product and many teams working together
