Joe and Anthony Russo Answer the Biggest ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Questions

How did the Russo Brothers manage to get all those stars in the one room to shoot the ‘Avengers: Endgame’ battle? Did they REALLY tell the cast that they were coming to shoot a wedding when they were really heading to a funeral? And just how did they decide who would be alive, and who would be dead, by the time the credits rolled? These are just some of the questions that have been burning in fans’ minds since ‘Avengers: Endgame’ opened in theaters back in April, and with the movie finally available on digital, and soon on Blu-ray and DVD, we decided to pin the Russos down and get some answers. (OK, we sat down with them in a lovely air-conditioned room during Comic-Con and politely asked some questions.) In this exclusive extended interview, Joe and Anthony Russo go deep on all the big ‘Endgame’ issues you want to know about - from Bro Thor to “Avengers Assemble” to why Robert Downey Jr. should be getting awards buzz come the fall.

This is THE ONLY movie on earth where throughout the film, people were laughing loud, crying hard, and clapping! Clapping when a character just simply came on screen. Marvel has such an effect on people. I love it 3000.

"Endgame" , to me , is what a movie theatre experience should be. An event. The last time I felt that way was with "Avatar" when I was a kid. So it's only fitting for this movie to take its place. This movie managed to throw any expectations on how you thought the movie would go, and turned it completely upside down with killing your main villain in the first 15 minutes. Rewatched on digital yesterday and it remains amazing, even after seeing it twice already.

The 5 year jump also allows them to introduce new heroes like Cassie is now a teenager and could possibly take the mantle from Scott, Miles Morales who was referenced in Homecoming can now be the close to Peter's age, Monica Rambeu can now be in her 30s and can be a version of Photon etc.

Same way he left: Set his GPS to 2023 main timeline, park bench. Shrinks into Quantum Realm with Pym particles. GPS signals Quantum Tunnel. Quantum Tunnel brings him back to the Bench. He warps in during the return countdown - which you can hear if you listen. His Quantum suit changes out to civilian garb - just like all their suits did during all their time travels.

 @Chavanun Siphomsay If he comes back as a 100 year old man standing on that platform, your 1st thought is that the same thing happened to him as happened to Scott. [He was made old instead of sent back in time] I think they didn't want the audience to laugh, and that's the main reason why. They braced us by having Sam walk over to him. I also think it's an intentional 'mystery' and they preferred mystery to a simple answer. Like if you've ever seen Inception and it ends with the top spinning so that we never absolutely can know if the protagonist was dreaming or not. It's a poetic ending.

@prakash_77
@prakash_77 5 лет назад
I agree that Chris is one of the best actors. I can't imagine anyone else playing Cap. But, RDJ is more than just an actor. He improvises various things, literally gives various story/dialogue/acting inputs and the way he acts makes the audience believe that he IS the character. That's why, he's 100 on a scale of 10 as an actor. It really is unarguable that he is the best, that's why directors are not shying away from saying that.

Ok, I know RDJ has been doing this for 10 years but captain Marvel could’ve picked up the time stone and reversed the death of Tony. This is a massive plot hole that I’m surprised not much people have realised.

@graueszebra3487 4 года назад
@@FinkelCult I understood the time stone in that way, that you can only use him to go back on the time line and forward (like strange did it in his movie and Thanos in iw It is not really time travel like in endgame). So you have the time line where tony snaps. You can use the time stone to get before that moment but then the snap didn't happen. After the snap tony is dead. You would have to go back on the time line before Thanos has the stones in endgame and give to gauntlet to captain marvel (but that would cause a different time line maybe and everyone would die, like dr strange said in iw). But for me the movie would loose a lot of its greatness if there is another ending, then it would be just a good superhero movie like others.
