Tua should be the number one pick Tua the greatest quarterback in this draft✨🏈 #13 But I wouldn't want him to play in Cincinnati😏 Because Cincinnati suck🚮 They can have Joe burrow👌 Joe burrow suck anyway👎🤢
Lavar Ball: Joe Burrow is aight, but if he was a big baller like Gelo he'd be the on the hall of fame track! Gelo ain't stepped on the field yet but he already got that gold jacket. 3000 yards and 30 touchdowns as a tight end. Neva lost
Shannon loves to ignore things that don't support his argument when it comes to Burrow. Like the fact that Burrow arrived on LSU's campus 3 weeks before the season began last year.
I can't believe I'm agreeing with Skip. His 2018 wasn't that bad; 16td/5int with an antiquated offense. In 2017, he was hurt. As a Bengals fan, it's Christmas in April. The pick is a no-brainer. You have to take Burrow.
cbfbmc bad analogy. They’re not the same player. Tua has shown consistency where Joe although the best season ever for a qb is nothing to sneeze at... it’s about preference . Pat mahomes aaron rodgers even brady all missed significant games. Doesn’t mean you still don’t draft them.
James Massingale so you like arrogant dumb ppl who choose to behave like dipshits in a time of crisis where ppl are dying bcs others dont care about spreading the disease
Joe Burrow's stacked team is always used against him.....but Tua had 2 first round wide receivers *AND* a tackle drafted as well. Literally never gets mentioned.
I understand where shannon is coming from because tua started longer but everybody always bringing up the players around joe but doesn't Alabama have the same amount of players around tua? Tua never had the same type of season with the same amount of talent. People also forget that joe came to LSU in the summer of 2018 and won the starting job in training camp so yea his 2018 wasn't great but LSU was not willing to open up the offense for him either. I dont care about the argument of who is better but to keep saying it was the talent around joe burrow that made last season happen but nobody says "well why didn't tua have seasons like that with the talent he had?"
Y’all act like Burrow was a bum in 2018. He transferred there after he got injured and beat out by Haskins in 2017. So he got to LSU late, coming off an injury, with a VERY different style of offense. After the Alabama game in 2018, Joe went off. Look up those games. He showed all the promise and potential at the end of 2018. He then followed up that year with the greatest college season in history. Look at the games, not just the stats. Joe Burrow is absolutely the #1 pick, especially with Tua’s injury history.
Plus if you go look up interviews with his dad, he said he didn’t even know some of the names of the guys on the team by week 1, literally he was fast tracked to the starting position and had to learn as he went.
I’ll take Burrow but not solely on his talent but because of his mindset. The guy never stuttered under pressure and is a winner. If the Bengals open the offensive scheme as LSU did, Burrow will ball in the NFL
Unc’s argument holds no merit. We all know it’s all about what you’ve done for me lately. We all know Aaron Rodgers has had a better career cause of his excellence and his longevity, but we all know we’d rather take Pat Mahomes cause he became a clearly better QB the past couple years. Burrow has evolved and surpassed Tua. And it’s simple as that
Jordan Miller ok and how have the bengals been ? He’s going to have to prove he’s not a 1 year wonder. He had 5 years. He’s just as old as Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson.
@@shredacademy6170 and? How old was Tom Brady when he got drafted? 23. How old was Joe Montana when he was drafted? 23. Him being older and a 5 year QB is an advantage he has. He knows he had to work harder than everybody else to get where he's at. He didn't have the biggest arm. That's what makes great players elite players. Yeah the Bengals have been bad, but there's no doubt in my mind he will change the mentality of that team. Just listen to his LSU teammates talk about him
100% agree with this. I don’t know why all these media members are pushing Tua so hard.. I’ve never seen a quarterback being pushed down our throats so much!
Burrows vision, pocket awareness, and ability to anticipate throws makes him the better prospect even if Tua was fully healthy going into the draft. I like Tua to, but Burrow tilts the scales just enough, plus he has shown to be way tougher and more durable which are huge bonuses.
Tua played at Alabama, had the 2nd best o-line, top 10 rb in the nation, and 2 WR’s that will go 1st round. How can u even bring up the talent around a player as an argument for Tua. Joe Burrow had the “greatest college football season ever” in Shannon’s words. That’s all you need to know.
Bama played 3 ranked opponents in 2018 LSU played 5. Also lost a close game off a bogus call against texas a&m... the score was something crazy like 72-74. 2019 LSU plays 7 ranked opponents what was bama's strength of schedule again?
Burrow showed everyone progression each year. Tua didnt show any improvement just different injuries each year. And Alabama didn't play any quality teams last year but LSU. Of course his qbr should have gotten better. Give me Burrow.
First! Tua is a great QB, but Alabama has always had one of the best O-Lines, Best RB’s and WR.. yea 2018 happened but they went 10-3.. That argument about Tua is pointless because once again he was surrounded by the best.. let’s not forget when Saban has to pull Tua because he wasn’t performing well.. That did happen..
What we need to realize is Burrow didn’t really get any playing time until his first year with LSU. So the game obviously was able to slow down for him within that time frame which is why the second season is exponentially better than the first one. Not that hard to comprehend. I’m kinda mad a former pro player didn’t think of that 😭
That is a complete lie. 2018 sure. 2019 LSU was as talented if not more talented than Bama. Bama had an atrocious defense last season compared to their norm. Couldn't stop anything. On offense the OLine was lacking a lot. Of course receivers were great. LSU had the best OLine, amazing receivers. Their defense was suspect up until the playoffs. Don't even try it.
@@jacobhayes8324 so Tua had a bad O line with Jedrick Wills (1st rd pick), Alex Leatherwood (would have been 1st rounder if he declared), Deonte Brown (possible 1st rounder in 2021 and Chris Owens (possible 2nd-3rd rounder in 2021). Compare that to the LSU O line with 2 3rd rounder, a 4th rounder and an undrafted free agent. Whilst I agree that the Bama defence wasn't as good Tua doesn't played defence, he had a really good offence with 4 potential 1st-2nd round receivers and 4 potential 1st-2nd round O lineman
@@joshf-w9602 and did you watch them play? Tua was running for his life. Joe had so much time to sit in the pocket. I didn't say that Bamas defense was trash I said they lacked a lot. They got off to a real bad start. I watched these guys a lot. They were not the best OLine. The draft does not prove who was the best of a season at all.
@@jacobhayes8324 I never said they were the best O line but it's rubbish to say his O line was bad. The LSU game there were 2 reasons why Tua was pressured a lot, firstly LSU blitzed a lot with Patrick Queen and Grant Delpit and secondly Tua was playing with an injured ankle which affect his mobility especially his shirt area agility inside the pocket. We can debate who had the best O line all day but the fact is Burrow was statistically almost twice as good under pressure in terms of QBR (82.4 to 44.2) and almost 20% better completion % under pressure (66% to 48%).
Skip: check the tape about what i said on joey harrington and akili smith What about Vince Young, Brandon Weeden, Johnny Manziel, Baker Mayfield? You said all those guys would be great. Don't let Skip fool you just because he's more articulate. He doesn't evaluate well.
I love Shannon Sharpe but everything he said about Joe Burrow can be said about Tua. Both had a great Coach, Both played with future NFL Players, Great O-Line, Great Weapons on offense, BUT Joe Burrow had the greatest season ever and does not come with the biggest question that Tua has which is "INJURIES". Using the 2018 excuse is stupid because Joe Burrow was at a big disvabage because he arrived at LSU very late, after the freshman and all the spring camps.
Shannon getting blown out by Skip.. Tua won't make it 5 years in the NFL. He's another RG3 with more injuries to his career and he hasn't even took a nfl snap.
To me, Joe Burrow was pretty good in 2018. In 2019 he got better and blew up the record books. Tua, dude has not played better than he did when he came in to win the title game 2 years ago. Even then, Jalen Hurts had to come in and bail him out.
People seem to forget that Joe played in a Pro system the Joe Brady Steve Ensminger combo was perfect for him but Brady came from the Saints and sure the saints didn’t win the super bowl for reasons we all know but if Joe gets in a system where they can operate like Joe Brady can he’ll definitely be the better pick But if/when he goes to Cinci it’s doubtful at least for a while
Joe Burrow is a winner. He took a below average high school and took them to a national championship. Physically - are you aware that in 2018 his shoulder was thrown out 3 days before the game. He played because his backup was injured - in pain none of us could have taken. He is a winner physically and mentally and emotionally..
Shannon loves to ignore the fact that Burrow arrived on Campus 3 weeks before the season began his first year at LSU. He had almost no time to practice and form a rhythm with the players or coaches. Yet he still showed flashes of greatness last season too, especially in the second half of the year. Now that he's had an entire offseason to practice with the players and learn the play book the results speak for themselves. Yes Burrow was playing with great receivers this season Shannon. Was Tua playing with bums? I don't think so. He played at Bama, a team loaded with talent every year.
shannon please stop going back 2 years to make your case. i thought this was a what have you done for me LATELY type thing. Evaluate Tua at his best and burrow at his best.
He's talking about the totality. Case in point. Look at Dwayne Haskins. Great 1 year as the starter at OSU. We shall see if that one terrible year at Washington was the exception or the rule. Same with Burrow.
Anyone with EYES can see that Burrow was simply an NFL QB playing in college. The man was a 5th year player, no classes, plenty of time to hit the film and practice, and had the BEST season for a QB ever. Meanwhile, Tua, who got whooped by LSU (LSU should've stomped them in the second half), is too injury proned to sustain in the NFL. The body doesn't comeback 100% after any sort of injury.
As good as Joe Burrows numbers are I’m not sure he will ever play like this ever again in his career. Let’s just hope he can come close to that in the league
If Burrow ever had this kind of season in the NFL he would literally have the best QB season ever. You talking about MVP, superbowl, and best statistics for a QB with one of the worst franchises ever 😂 so no he probably won’t, but he can definitely still get better as far as his mental game and arm strength.
Why does Shannon keep mentioning 2018 like 2019 was just pure luck? You think Joe Burrow gonna go back to 2018? If he went one more year, he'd probably go back to back champion
Burrow. “wHy WaSn’T hE gOoD iN 2018???” how good were Odell Beckham and Jarvis Landry at LSU? you knew they were talented, they just didn’t put up the numbers because the offensive coaching at LSU had been trash for YEARS until last year when they got a good offensive coordinator for once. his ability to improve as much as he did shows he’s capable of making that adjustment in the NFL as well. you want to see growth, not just the same each year.
there’s only one opinion that matters to me. Ric flair. To be the man you gotta beat the man. Burrow threw all over saban and Dabos teams. He beat both TOP programs in one season. And did it convincingly. That bama game wasn’t as close as the score indicated. Tua is great. Burrow is legendary. Mic drop.
That's skips point. Tua ALWAYS gets injured. He hasn't played a full season since high school. If he can't complete a 12-13 game college season you seriously think he will make it 16 games in the NFL?
Shannon is correct. On shear ability. Tua is better than Joe. Now if you want to say Joe is more durable, you would be right, at this point. We don't know if the first game Joe is in if he doesn't get injured. It could happen
Skip is right on the merits of this argument (Tua's injury), but lost the argument when Shannon asked for Burrow's under pressure qbr for 2018. Dew to Shannon.
At 9:54 when skip says joe went to a school with a prehistoric play book and almost never passed the ball Just remind me where did tua go Before him nick savanna had never even heard about passing
People I get it. Burrow had an amazing year and topped it off with a chip. It’s to be celebrated. With that being said before this year he was a below averages college QB and was on no one’s draft board in the first 4-5 rounds listening to draft reports.
