Jason Whitlock and Marcellus Wiley are joined by Orlando Scandrick and LaVar Arrington to talk the 2020 NFL draft. The Cincinnati Bengals have the first draft pick, and reports say they have their eyes on Heisman Trophy winner Joe Burrow. Burrow seems less than excited about the possibility of playing for the Bengals, and Whitlock thinks if he believed in his talent as a quarterback he would 'pull an Eli Manning' and refuse to sign with Cincinnati.

@@lukestraub4561 - a shoulder, not a knee. Williams underwent left shoulder surgery last year to repair a torn labrum. Williams had suffered the injury while participating in OTAs two weeks prior to the surgery, and missed the entire 2019 season. Otherwise you're right - the Bengals effectively get two first rounders this year if Jonah Williams returns healthy. As Williams is an offensive tackle, if he plays up to his draft position he could improve the Bengals' O-line.

If Carson Palmer was so great then why is it the Bengals went to the playoffs the next five years after HE left-- They replaced him with Andy Dalton. Maybe Dalton was just a better quarterback than Palmer? Why did Palmer never win anything after he left Cincinnati? Palmer never won a single thing during his rookie contract and yet, the Bengals made him the highest paid QB in the NFL on his second contract.-- The same Bengals you claim are cheap. Let's not forget that Jordan Palmer, Carson's brother, was given the job of back up QB just to make make Carson happy. Jordan didn't earn that job. Nobody else wanted him. Prior to the Bengals bringing him into the organization he was sitting a on couch praying for a call. Carson Palmer is just a bitter player who has a hated for Cincinnati and it's fan base. He was a #1 player who had loads of talent all around him and HE didn't get the job done.-- that has nothing to do with Mike Brown.

I love how the national media just ignores facts. Like my man said we have won more w/o Carson than with him. Our team as constructed has more talent than we're being given credit for. Our first yr head coach never lost the locker room when everything was crumbling around him. The national media: Whitlock, Stephen A, Dan Patrick, Carson Palmer and others are all pushin there PERSONAL BIAS on the issue and not lookin at facts

People can deride Mike Brown all they want, but the dude knows how to negotiate. I would be surprised if he would trade that #1 pick for anything less than crippling another team for years to come. Brown is probably fine with letting Burrow sit out a year, tanking his Bengals again in 2020, and trying again in the 2021 draft with the #1 pick.

I think once the bengals get their quarterback they will be fine . This is a perfect time to be in the afc north . Steelers : Big Ben on his way out major transition at the Qb position. Ravens: where a suprise in the nfl last year but remains to be see if after a competive division will be able to sustain the ruff and tumble north. Browns: well .....that says it all the browns .. Burrow will own the division if he is as advertised.

Its probably better than it was five years ago but its still really tough. The Steelers might be the most consistent franchise in football with a competent front office. They just went 8-8 with a fourth string QB and barely missed playoffs. Unless Ben has regressed significantly since the surgery they will be tough through the next two seasons. The Browns are talented everywhere with a new head coach and the Ravens looked like the best team in football much of the regular season. I'm high on Burrow but he cant do it alone, the front office needs to be much, much better. You dont go 30 years without a playoff win unless legitimate structural problems exist within the organization.

I would love to see burrow shine but I think he must use the “leverage” to make sure they get the pieces to contend and that tbd.

Enough with the humble nonsense. It’s his own health and career that’s at stake here. The Bengals haven’t won a playoff game since the 90s. The organization is horrible(die hard fans tho) but they need way more pieces than a QB, way more including better ownership and coaching. If he continues to imply he doesn’t want to play there, Cincinnati would be stupid to draft him when they can potentially get a Kings ransom for the first overall pick and start rebuilding that team properly instead of dealing with the politics of players who doesn’t want to be there.

Players who are drafted by bengals get treated well, look at Green and Mixon they’ve already said they want to retire in Cincinnati.

For the first time in a long time I feel on the fence. Cause I do think he needs weapons to succeed and their owner might not be building that team in that sense. And who is their coach? That being said I really don't like it when players in the top 10 selection in the draft throw tantrums and force moves to a team they prefer. David Klingler and Akili Smith were both *first round* picks, not the #1 overall pick. Big difference. Burrow could be trapped for seven seasons with this draft pick (rookie deal + tags). Not many QBs become superstars after this window. Also, when you consider the history of disfunction and future of the AFC north, the alarm bells should be going off. It could be 40 years before that dumpster fire of an organization gets a playoff win the way things look right now.

I'll never understand the idea of a QB prospect being "too good for a team to draft" you're a QB, if you're that good, then you should easily be able to take a mediocre/bad football team and make a big difference.... if you are afraid you aren't actually that good, then you're right back to not being "too good" to be drafted by that team again and you should just accept being drafted.
