I hope he remains a Padre it'd be easy to convince him since he grew up a fan his rapport with the franchise is well established, he'd never have to worry about being unliked and most importantly, as an athlete, he's in his element at PetCo

I know this video is about Joe but I have to say, Manny has developed so much as a player and leader since his time in Baltimore. Really happy for him and the team and he's absolutely right. Pay that man.

They offered $11M/year? The 25th highest salary among starting pitchers in MLB is Lance McCullers at $15.8M/year. $11M seems like a lowball.

So hosmer and Machado say “pay the man, whatever it takes” but you know if Preller said ok, I’ll take 5% from each of your contracts to get him a 100/5 to stay, they’d both say “fuck that!” So much for “whatever it takes”. People love to talk until they have to put some skin in the game.

Padres would be making a huge mistake if they let another team take Musgrove... Not only is he a massive fan favorite, but he's also a clubhouse leader who brings the best out of the rest of the pitching staff. He's the type of player who would get their jersey number retired if he played the rest of his career in SD; he's THAT much of a fan favorite, plus the historical first no-hitter in franchise history. He's already an SD legend

11 million a year for his numbers? Nice try AJ….no agent in thier right mind is gonna go for that shit. Patrick Corbin had similar stats when he got his 6 year 140 million from a smaller market team. Musgrove is worth 20-25 million a year right now easy. He should do a 3-5 year deal now and when he’s got the experience to back it up go for the 8 year monster contract. He’s 23 so id push him to go for a 4 year 100 right now personally to stay in San Diego where they need good starting pitching to get to the post season consistently.
