It was a pretty solid experience as a whole too. Lewis going nuts at the last 20 seconds after very poor fight for him. Tony and Pettis having the nuttiest, fun-loving fight they could. It was actually a serious game plan. Khabib wasn’t known for having heavy hands and al Laquinta was thought to have been letting khabib land punches so the fight could stay on the feet. If the fight stays on the feet the chance of landing a knockout punch or out striking khabib was good for conor and wouldn’t be on the ground. There’s a RU-vid video about it.

He didn't udnerestimate Khabibs wrestling, he prepared well for it in a short period of time, those Chael Sonnens words, a wrestler. I saw his technique, it was good in the first two rounds, he took little damage, and zero damage in round one. You didn't notice him controlling Khabib with reaching over for his ankle, and in fact for one quick moment was on top of Khabib. Conor won round three, just got taken down in round four and stuck in that nasty neck crank. Those are both great fighters, it's just Khabib was better that night.
