@@o1h823 all that and he still never turned down a fight. And took potentially his only title shot on two weeks notice. If that doesn't say alot about bisping then Idk what will. Also why do people hate on bipsing for trash talking, yet love it when Connor does? He's kinda like an english Connor, yet people always say he's a dick or arrogant I don't get it🤔 are you guys intoxicated?
GSP had been retired for 4 years, had an intestinal disorder that he almost had to pull out of the fight for, and wasn’t even fighting in his weight class. So there’s that too.
Doesn't matter GSP wasn't gonna target a rib he didn't know about and he did better with one eye than ever did with two. Like he said GSP was the better man.Your excuse...?
He is extremely tough, but there are many others like him in mma. Oertega is a good example. mma requires you to be tough, it's a brutal sport that most people would never dare take part in myself included, fuck that.
Today I Got Time Cuz No I think he’s just sane like most of the MMA community, this man has been through the worst fighting against steroid heads. Just imagine if testing was as serious as it is now, the man would be 35-3
@Today I Got Time Cuz actually they're obviously bright enough to know. This guy may not have great power In his hands, but his mental fortitude is up there. Anyone, any time. George, vitor, Anderson, Henderson, wanderlei. These guys are beasts. He's also partially blind. Exactly how does any of this not make sense to you? And you refer to them as biased. Lmao
Arlo Steiner he never said he lost because he was injured. He stated a fact that he was injured and fought anyway. Learn the definition of excuse Arlo you bellend
@Matt Miller Interviews with Bisping and GSP are as good as it gets. They are both so open and honest. No excuses, just details and a LOT of respect for their opponents. Overall GSP always beats Bisping but I'm British so gotta love Bisping's attitude for every fight
@@dimwitdave9344 I'd only give the edge to gsp because bisping fights one eyed, and during the fight he had a messed up knee and sore ribs. U can see how gingerly he was with his footwork during the fight due to his knee. It would have been a much better fight if both these fighters were at 100, but they didn't pull out and ruin it.
I appreciate the sheer tenacity, skill, and overwhelming toughness that Michael fought with, but the fact that GSP wrecked the UFC for a decade with minimal damage to his body is legendary.
Let me tell you something brother, what if I tell you that the UFC is a work. What I mean is that everything that happens outside the octagon, from the interviews to the promotion and everything is a work, is made up, not real. Besping right here spelled it out, he was working as the heel, the bad guy in order to sell tickets. The worth of a fighter is not about winning or losing is also about selling tickets.
Are people so surprised about typical british banter? I could spot the stuff he was saying wasn't all that serious. Also while promoting his match with GSP. Bisping actually stopped being heel and flat out said to GSP to stop being a nice guy and they're selling a fight over here lol. Well something along those lines. Oh and there was a short documentary which included his family. You could see the guy was a genuine dad there.
You should listen to GSP's account of their talk beyond close doors. GSP and Bisping were in toilet and GSP thought he's gonna start trash talking and then Bisping got all friendly and all and then the camera guys came in. Bisping chased them all out. GSP said that was when he was aware of Bisping's act and he was okay with it since Bisping was doing it to sell the fight. Deep down, GSP knew from the beginning that Mike respects him and vice versa.
@@Epsilonsama "Everything" outside the cage is not a work lol. There are clearly guys who play a role for the cameras and there are guys who don't need too. It's easy to tell the difference. UFC markets drama but this isn't wwe lol can't go in thinking everything is fake. That's just not right
This guy fought arguably the best pound for pound fighter ever with an injured rib and ONE eye. That goes to show you that there really are different breeds of men
My word, reading these comments...mma fans are so immature. Just take the story for what it is. He could've pulled out and then we'd have nothing to discuss. its not like he hasn't given GSP his props.
He would have beat RDA felt invincible and made the biggest mistake of his life ....... he would have got in the cage with Tyron Woodley!!! We would have seen him horrifically Knocked out by Woodley yes different career indeed
When GSP set aside his 'technical', 'not getting hit' way of fighting and humored Hendricks in a straight up street fight, I developed a new respect for him.
Yeah that was a great fight despite what ppl say lol. I became a real GSP fan after his second Koscheck fight. Hardly any takedowns, just straight jabbing the shit outta his face
I hate how people knock Bisping down for not fighting Yoel. He refused to fight him to fight against GSP. Lmao that's so much more money and that's a tough match up for ANYONE. Even when he lost he fought Kelvin and even though he lost it was shirt notice. He's a straight up G.
GSP is not my favorite, but he very well could be the greatest. It is very hard to pinpoint a 'goat'..but he is in the running. Skill-wise, I think that it is hard to doubt that Jon Jones in probably the best. But I feel that no one has had a better understanding of how to 'put it all together' and figure out how to win, than GSP. As far as the best 'Fighter' goes..as in fighters, not tacticians who 'put it all together', i would have to say that there has never been a better 'Fighter', than Mr. Fedor Emelianenko. He is simply amazing. The only knock on Fedor (which has caused the majority of his losses) is that during the heat of battle, he occasionally throws his technique and game plan out the window and goes in for the kill prematurely. Werdum fight is a prime example of that. You would never see a prime GSP do that, though. He is too tactical and too practiced. Fedor is my favorite fighter of all time though. I have been watching MMA/NHB non-stop since I rented a VHS copy of UFC 1 as soon as it came out....and this is my personal personal feelings of the 'Goat Discussion'. I almost typed 'Goatse discussion'..hehheh so that will tell you how old I am. I was in university when Goatse was first popping up and still have a soft spot for him haha.
I got to see Bisping shortly before the GSP fight training at my gym. My BJJ instructor (Brady Fink) who was Bisping's grappling coach at the time rammed into Bisping's ribs and he definitely looked hurt. I still remember wondering how bad of an injury it was but I couldn't say for sure because he's so insanely tough!
One eyed Bisping with sore Rib put on an amazing fight with one of the greats of mma so you cant say he isnt one of the greats as well. BMF belt forever for Bisping 👊
Gsp said in interview that bisping was the toughest man he ever fought. Just watched fight again. Bisping deff was holding his own with who some consider the GOAT. Beat gsp up from the bottom.
Bisping is probably the most underrated middleweight to walk into the octagon and seems like the down to earth kind of guy who would knock back a few cold beers and crack jokes with you.
Overrated. Weidman and Rockhold are much more accomplished and no one even mentions them among the bests. Bisping ducked Jacare and Yoel and made Whittaker fight them both. After Whittaker beat them he ducked him too and chose to fight GSP. And don't give me that one eyed excuse. Even with 2 eyes he was getting his ass handed to him everytime. He fought better with 1 eye
He might still end up punch drunk because he took so damage during his career. Hendo's H-bomb was bad them the follow up was worse and that was just 1 fight. Its very possible he'll end up with cognitive issues in older age.
@Yuriii i know theres way less damage to their heads than boxing but it doesnt take many head hits to cause permanent damage and they still get hit in the head a lot. Listen to Nick and Nate Diaz or Chuck Liddel their speech has dramatically declined for both of them. I watched the series of the ultimate fighter with Nate and its very noticeable how much his speech has slowed and slurred. Then there's Gary Goodrich the poor man can barely string a sentence together. MMA is safer tgan boxing but it's still a risky sport any sport where theres hits to the head is dangerous. Here in the U.K. we even have ex football (soccer for our American friends) players who died with (not because of) CTE and thats just from heading the ball, goes to show it doesnt take a lot to cause brain damage.
@Yuriii The football player wasnt a friend it was an ex professional. Its not just 1 ex player either it's a lot of them. The way they played was studied and its only the players who were regularly heading the ball a lot most were defenders who have been diagnosed. I remember heading a football when i was a teenager and when you head a ball coming at you at 40 to 50mph that shit rattles your fucking brains. Oxford university are in the middle of a study for the connection between CTE and football players from heading the ball and the results up to now are quite shocking according to the professor running it. Trouble is you can only diagnose CTE by a brain exam after death so until theres a test on the living its a case of post mortem diagnosis only.
Funny him claiming he broke some ribs when on the post fight he was asked and said he had no injuries at all and repeatedly said he felt fine, felt good 🤔
I seem to recall that a couple of times that has happened with other fighters (old time boxers). I think they didn't want to say anything because they would have been seen to have been making excuses at the time (so less of a 'man') but the trainers knew..
Sound fella and great example to all people coming through because he achieved loads yet wasn’t THE most skilled but TRIED BLOODY HARD and got results!!
i mean if youre sparring multiple people all day then youre bound to eventually lose due to pure exhaustion, if anything, since youre constantly swapping fresh partners in with no breaks for yourself
Never mind the ribs, his eye cost him big time and won the title with really limited sight, delighted he won the title unfortunate his reign came when he wasn’t at a disadvantage
I believe Bisping. But it gets very tiring when every time a fighter loses it's because of an "injury" when that never would've been brought up had they won, and had never been documented beforehand.
I’ve always saw bisping as a loud mouth arrogant villain, but now hearing how he talks about GSP changes everything. He really is just selling fights 😂
Always rooted for Bisbing. Guy got way too much hate. He may not have been a top3 guy all the time but he was always a top10 type and made it count when he got his chance. Glad he got the $$ fight with GSP also. He seems like a really good guy. My friend partied with him in TO, wish I was there. He posted the pic on facebook, I was like eff me thats Bisbing. It was before he won the Belt. I think he just got KO'd by Vitor or Hendo in Toronto
I think being on Fox Sports really helped Bisping create more of a positive image. You get to know the guy and you can tell he’s just a humble and humorous guy, despite all the antics he pulled before.
@@rumham9012 that is why you have fighters like Cerrone,Bisping, & Diego Sanchez, who take on anyone anytime & then guys like Conor & Tony, who will strategize their career more so.
Bisping, 15years ago when i saw him first i dont like him because of his mouth. But he never refuse short notice fight, never be in drug trouble.when he beat anderson, ruke i was very impressive. He has fighters heart.i repect him. Many mma fans in koreA like bisping
I like Bisping but I don't like the excuses. Best camp of his life. Knocking out sparring partners unintentionally. Then the rib injury. "Not to take anything away from George." ok
So... if he had a hurt rib should he just say nothing about it u TIL he does? What exactly is the appropriate way to tell people you had an injury? Waiting over a year later while still praising his opponent seems like a way better and respectful option than doing it after the fight and then saying “I lost because of this” which he didn’t do. So I ask, what is the right way to do it? Just keep it a secret? That seems pretty fucking stupid.
@@sexuallobster134679 IMO 2 choices. If it's bad u don't fight with it. If u can fight with it u suck it up and don't talk about it publicly win or lose. That's the professional way of handling a loss when u were hurt. I'm not saying Michael is a liar. But almost every MMA pro has stated on the record that NOBODY is ever "100%" for a fight after an 8-16 week training camp and fighters are usually carrying some injuries into the ring. Bringing this injury up devalues GSP's performance. I consider Bisping a true professional and like him as a commentator and a fighter. But this was unprofessional and weak.
Michael then went on to fight gastelum 3 weeks later, with most likely half a dozen separate lingering injuries from the gsp fight and was then knocked out in the first round. Absolutely a fight that never should have been accepted by Michael yet he showed he’d be there anytime.
Henny Spiderman considered by many as one of, if not THE greatest mixed martial artist of all time. So your point is? I mean Michael Bisping only managed to stay in the top ten of one of the most competitive weight divisions in the number one promotion in MMA for over a decade, in a time where he fought multiple known drug cheats and even becoming the champion of said division. But I suppose I guy calling himself Spider-Man bragging on GSP’s behalf would be a sufficient put down. God I hope he doesn’t see this 🙏🤦♂️
A GOAT renown for not finishing his opponents to the point where people called him the Canadian Blanket. Same person that was a retired welterweight while Mike was a former 205lber.
@@clorgbanethedestroyer9317 GSP spent a whole year doing heavy weight training to become a middleweight. He was absolutely jacked when he fought Bisping. He was definitely a strong middleweight that night. And he will forever be GOAT.
No Problem sign me up ' For the most Legendary Fight of my Life With a Pure Hard Fighting killing Machine Yeahhh even tho my Rib is broken oh if I'll lose ill just go on air and tell everyone that's why I lose yup "
