Yes,all khabib training partners say he is very mean as a fighting style. His coach javier Mendes says he is very very mean in mma and I didn't get what they meant until George Saint Pierre explained on a Joe Rogan podcast: for a fighter a ko loss is hard to come back from but what's worse is to be totally dominated, mentally it's the hardest to deal with. That's when I understood fighters lol. I don't fight so I I didn't get that part.

So to anyone who doesn't know, it's called "deep waters" because grappling with high level grapples is extremely tiring and you slowly feel like you have less and less control of where your body is while getting more and more tired. It's similar to the feeling of swimming against a current while feeling your muscles fatiguing more and more. And then the slow process to a submission comes. It does feel a little like drowning depending on when in the training you are and how tired you are.
