Joe Satriani - Crystal Planet 

I just realized in this song that Satriani is the absolute master of making the "resolution" of a melodic line drawn out while keeping you interested in nonrepetitive ways the entire time. That's a lot of talent to pull that off.

I remember being a kid and bringing this album home as soon as it came out. It melted my brain! Great live performance and awesome mix. Could hear all the drum tones spatially and clearly. Wow! Instantly hit the replay button. Lol

Man when he kicks in that fuzz/Octavia pedal in this solo I just want to scream “F$$k Yes!!!!” It’s such a perfect sound for that part!

My all time favorite Satch song and this version is amazing! 4:19 to the end is one of the greatest parts ever played on rock guitar. I can't turn it up loud enough!

Mike Keneally on Keyboards... If you've ever seen the first G3 DVD, he played on Steve Vai's set, and came back to sing for the 3 guitar jam at the end. Incredible musician, to keep up with both guys on either instrument...

the first time I ever heard of satriani was in 8th grade. I listened to this album on the way to Disney world on my 8th grade band trip and it was on cassette tape on a Walkman. I think about that trip everytime i hear this album. let's just say I got my first guitar for Christmas that year lol.

When I listened to that thing for the first time, it wss like global musical collapse and complete phase shift for me. Just unreal music. For me its like 3 hour action movie, about some conquers from earth came through space to invade a legendary Crystal Planet populated by crystallic robots and vicious insects, abd there is an epic fight for the life there. Totally crazy.

The studio-version is really out of this world; almost impossible to improve live. The apotheose is really like a machinegun spreading everything there is; there is really nothing moore. I really think that psysically not doable live, but Satch makes a great effort, though. My favourite song to hear just before i tried to make a great sporting performance myself. Thank you Joe, for that!
