Mike Kennealy might well be the most talented musician in prog-rock. He *effortlessly* keeps pace with Satch on guitar (as he did with Vai in his band), and can do so on keyboards, as well. I've seen him play those instruments simultaneously -- while not playing them in *unison*, which is utterly astounding.

Arabic mood.. Satch seemed since a long time liking too much the Spanish phregian mode and by the way the oriental influences.. Which he use to compose great melodies.. An Arabic satchy music!

Some Brazil's northeastern rhythms does sound like Balkan's folk music... I had a Bulgarian neighbor in Italy and I was amazed to find out how some of his songs sounded a bit like Brazilian music...
