@@Reno_Slim Great song..He's definitely the comedian just by those wacky pants he always wears.. Went to see Bob Seger like 8 yrs.ago & Joe Walsh opened for him.. I personally was there for Joe he rocks it out in Concert!! Loved it
@@KevinSmith-dx6xq That would've been a better choice for me.. Don't get me wrong I like Seger, but I like Foreigner much better.. Sounds like a great concert!!
You do bring us joy, light & love. You're like our baby brother who got into our room and found our records & you're hearing them for the 1st time! Your expressions are priceless, and we all know what's coming up ahead in the song. Thanks for being here for us.
YES!!! Joe F'ing Walsh..! "In The City" "Turn To Stone" "The Confessor" "Life Of Illusion" "Life's Been Good" and a really good slow one "Help Me Through The Night".
Joe Walsh being interviewed on The Bob & Tom Show: Tom: You toured with Ozzy & Black Sabbath, right? Joe: Yeah...we must have. I don't remember, but we MUST have, I mean...we have the posters, so it must have hapened.
I was married with children when this came out. Never thought I'd get to see Joe Walsh in concert. Then i got divorced. Started going to concerts. Joe Walsh joined the Eagles and we went to see them. They did this song. Man, that was a great concert!!
A truly sweet man, I met him after a concert he did with Tom Petty in Gainesville FL. I was in the hospital, he came to the pediatric floor to sign autographs. I asked he would sign 5 more, for my siblings. With a small laugh, he replied, "sure". A memory I hold dear.
Of course I have met him, but I always thought Joe Walsh was a good guy. I'm glad to hear it's true. I would have been disappointed if I found out otherwise.
"Those Shoes" by the Eagles. Joe Walsh has his "talk box". "In The City" by the Eagles, Joe's singing. It was featured during the end credits of the cult classic movie called The Warriors.
@@nemo4907 Just my opinion but I've always thought Funk #48 is better that than #49... but its was never really played on the radio! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vkZepbHIrvE.html
Joe Walsh was one of my favorite musicians long before he joined the Eagles. I saw him live solo in the late 70's; he was awesome, and the crowd just poured the love on him.
One of my favorite Joe Walsh stories is the one he tells about how he decided to play guitar. He was watching the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show and his head was bobbing up and down. Then he looked at his parents on the couch and their heads were shaking from side to side...and the rest is history! As far as the Eagles, he wasn't a founding member. He had his own success before & after.
Joe is still a member of the Eagles! He Joined the band when they recorded Hotel California. He was in the James Gang and was a solo artist before that.
I remember the Hotel California tour; in the Bay Area at lest, The James Gang opened for the Eagles - and Walsh was on stage for the entire time, and never seemed to run out of energy.
@@timfoley6718 Genre was fairly country to begin with. They were hanging with Linda Ronstadt at a Country bar in LA. All of Desperado is pretty country in the roots.
Joe was a big player by himself long before the Eagles. Joe's earlier band the James Gang was fire also during and after the Eagles Joe made solo albums.
Joe made a cameo appearance in the original Blues Brothers film.....amongst the bunch of convicts dancing at the end...he dances on the table...good part for him!!
This came out a year or two before Joe became an Eagle . He was already a major artist in his own right . A few years later when The Eagles came to town , my friends and I went to the gig just to see Joe . It was many years ago , 1976 I think . From memory he played this song and Turned to Stone and maybe one or two other solo tracks . He was the best musician on the stage that night , that's for sure .
@SouthVA 757 They'd already turned rockier with One Of These Nights in '75, which started their ascent into the stratosphere. Walsh brought more firepower and helped them get there. But Leadon gave them Witchy Woman, which which makes me wonder why he felt he could only do country. Felder, Leadon & Frey are on fire in the very rocky "Visions" (never understood why that wasn't a hit). Leadon could do everything. ..... Maybe he just didn't want to.
You are such a kind person I can tell. I am an older woman that grew up with this music and you are the only reaction person I watch. Your sweetness shows in every video
@Matt Colson I saw him once, right after this song became a huge hit. But I caught him on a bad night. He was completely lethargic. Hardly looked at the audience. Acted half asleep. I still love him but wish it'd been different. I'm sure it wasn't typical.💙
Deborah Cornell Actually Joe seems to be drunk all the time. I saw him on his birthday and it was clear he was lit. The second time I saw him he was present but his speech sounds odd almost slurred. But man he could play that damned guitar no matter what. I just get up for his music. Powerful
I walked right past him... at a music store in Andover Kansas... I had just finished paying for my first 88 key Fender Rhodes in 1984.. and was loading it into my van to get it to the rehearsal place and set it up with the band.. I was so excited that I didnt even realize it was Joe Walsh until I was about 1/2 mile away... and that was when the bass player said... 'did you realize that was Joe Walsh?'.... it sounds crazy but Joe was born in Wichita and still has family there...
Jamel, your audience are true classic rock fans. I'm a huge classic rock fan too. Been a fan since 1979. I'm reading these comments and I am just loving the spectacular knowledge that they alm have. I learned so much about Joe Walsh just by reading every comment. I'm writing this valuable information in my notebook of Classic Rock Facts
Saw him at Peppers in Dayton....sucked! ....took a break, staggered out of the restroom with an empty bottle of whiskey and cocaine smeared all over his face....album perfect!........I do remember some of the 80's.
Fun Fact: If anybody remembers the Drew Carey Show, there was one season where Drew and his friends form a Band, and they get Joe Walsh to be their guitarist.
@Will1972Akron.O Yeah I remember when I took my first guitar to Lay's Guitar, on Kenmore Blvd, and I saw a picture of a customed Cleveland Indians guitar on the wall. I asked them who that was for and the said Joe Walsh. The guy said Joe sends his stuff there to be worked on. I felt like a rock star after that, even though I couldn't play a lick!
I'm from Cleveland and we felt like he was our adopted son because he went to Kent State and he loved Ohio. That's probably why Drew was able to get him on.
Yes,that's true.. I believe it was mentioned in the Eagles Documentary,it's a 2- Parter definitely worth watching. I enjoyed it, very informative.. It was on a cable network called AXS always has rock documentary's & rock concerts love that station. Try watching it
@@iahelcathartesaura3887 No problem.Love to share that Channel for all of us die hard Rockers!!! By the way if you love Sammy?? As I do,he has his own show on there where he interviews other Rockers & Dan Rather has one also my favorite channel can't you tell??!! Sammy is on I believe on Sunday evenings
I heard that the other story I heard was once the band had gotten together it was winter and they thought they brought in everything so they started recording during a snowstorm. Halfway though the storm they realized they forgot to bring in the drums and had to wait until it started to melt then record the drums!
JOE WALSH, AND "ROCKY MOUNTAIN WAY"... DURING HIS SOLO CAREER. AFTER STARTING WITH THE JAMES GANG... SONGS WORTH REACTING TOO. "THE CONFESSOR"...THE JAMES GANG "WALK AWAY", "FUNK 49". JOINED THE EAGLES DURING THE HOTEL CALIFORNIA DAYS...
One of the funniest Joe Walsh moments I ever saw was not musical. It was on a HBO special starring Drew Carey that was basically an amped up version of Who's Line Is It Anyway. Joe was doing the music for the show but for the last improv game, they recruited him to play too. The gist was they would start with a topic and then each person would add one line to the story. I think the topic was euthanasia, and they were going down the line, Joe was near the end, and the person before him said something like, "And they found out he died from..." and Joe goes, "Brain worms!" It was so unexpected that the audience just blew up laughing.
Joe Walsh is from Wichita KS - after a devastating tornado in the Wichita and Andover Kansas area in 1990 he gave a benefit concert - It was a Great Concert and a Great thing for him to do!
Joe Walsh is one of the greatest guitar players to pick up a pic. I first heard him, or started listening to him, the week I turned 18. I was spending the summer at my cousins house. His father hired me to paint the house. But anyways, my cousins loved Joe Walsh and played him all day and all night. If you watch the lead in to "Hotel California" on their latest tour, "Hell Freezes Over" tour, you can hear him do a solo performance that's out of this world. Thanks for keeping the entertainment going. Loved this one.
Joe is amazing - and has lived two lives. He's a humble man now, and thanks the guys he's close to for helping him get clean. As he said, "I only got drunk once....for 20 years". Love Joe!
Dude!! I lost it when you put that straw in your mouth when the "tubed" part started playing....love your reactions sir. And I love the fresh perspectives you put on these classic rock tunes.
Listen to the guitar riffs, this was a warm up for hotel California. Which was one of the greatest guitar riffs of all time. Love Joe, this man had his own style!
Yeah he was in The Eagles & his voice is like that. He was in the James Gang. The song rom The Eagles to check out is “Those Shoes” because there was two guitars Don Felder & Joe Walsh.
OMG one of my most very fave pieces from my early days......thanx for this ♥ still love him to this day......not originally from the Eagles but joined later....yes he is that good that they asked him....
Yes Jamel. It's been a great day indeed. I've been binge watching your reactions. Whether I've seen them already or not. Feelin the joy, feelin the love and feelin the MUSIC! Ohhhhh yeahhhh baby 😁😁😁
Joe is definitely not “from” the Eagles. He was a legit star in his own right, both as a solo artist and as leader of The James Gang, well before the Eagles recruited him to give their flaccid sound some actual balls. Funk #49 Walk Away Life’s Been Good Life of Illusion The Bomber In The City Turn To Stone
@@EJ-tm1fe Yes,he was more rock/Bluesy as Jamel described... I still love the Eagle's & Joe definitely added more flair & craziness with his outfits Lol
They were all musicians long before The Eagles. Each was a big name. I love The Eagles but it was a shit storm behind the scenes. Reminds me of The Beatles. Went exactly the same way, two got it in their head that they were bigger than the rest instead of playing as an actual group
Captain Jamel_AKA_Jamal.💯AWESOME N AMAZING it's absolutely amazing to hear this song again it brings back so many good memories what a great artist mr. Joe Walsh is and always will be and yes he was once part of the Eagles like Mr Don Henley who has another great string of hits from his own outing after the Eagles 100% things for your reactions and for your fun in for your joy please stay safe stay strong and stay healthy and remember we're all taking this one step at a time and we're all grateful for your help and your amazing reactions and videos keep up the good work man you are AWESOME.. Peace ✌
Joe Walsh came out of The James Gang, then he became simply, Joe Walsh. But when Joe Walsh joined up the The Eagles, his guitar influence was so strong, that they almost didn't sound like the old Eagles before Joe came on board. I saw Joe Walsh and The Eagles live back in 1976 - GREAT SHOW!
The eagles went from a good mellow band to great rock band when joe joined. Joe rocks. Rocky Nountain Way is off the coolest named album ever. "The smoker you drink the player you get".
Joe Walsh is the real deal.. got to see him in concert a few years ago when he joined Bob Segar... it was almost too much to take in! Thanks for your great review... smiles for sure.
Another great by Joe Walsh is “Walk Away” (1971). He was with the James Gang back then. UPDATE: I just found your reaction to the song Walk Away. 🤣 Thanks! ☺️
Joe initially made a name for himself as the driving force of the James Gang. "Funk #49" by them is a must listen. Then he went solo where this is probably the most well known song by him then. He only joined the Eagles later, after they had already made several albums and gotten famous. Great reaction, J!
