It was a COMPLETE joke. Jokic deserved it last year, but if there was fatigue by the voters since he had won two, Giannis also could have been a deserving recipient. In NO way did Embiid deserve that award. Not even close.
@moffo2626 you don't want to see it because you're a fan. Most of his assist comes from teammates coming off of screens. He's doing nothing special. He just happen to be the player passing the ball
@@l9ikjam Or the basis of pick and roll... The move almost nobody had an answer to with the combination of Jokic and Murray, so I'd still say it's a very efficient technique Also, his passing is absolutely marvelous, no hate on Embiid either, just wanting to set things straight, the things the two of them are doing are very unique and barely if ever seen in the NBA
It's even worse cause its the media voting on it. I'd get it if it was a popularity vote and a trend emerged where people didnt want to keep giving 1 guy the MVP but these are the "analysts", its literally their job to know these things and they somehow "get voter fatigue"? What?
RIP to Dejan Milojević, without him we would have never seen Jokic in the NBA and he would have never reached his hall of fame potential without him and we very much appreciate for what he did with us and the superstar he introduced to the league. 😰😨😰😰
@@skap_attack Agreed as a Warriors fan I respected him so much as our assistant and may his family recover from the horrific tragedy that they had to hear about. Rest in Peace, Dub Nation and the NBA will forever remember you for what you did for us.
Embiid going to Denver just to feel some fresh air for the last 4 years, instead of playing on the home turf of his supposed MVP rival. This is actual stat padding. I think he would duck Jokic even in the NBA finals. Oh wait, he won't be getting there, because MVP and personal accolades are more important to him than the ring. You can drop 70 in the zero defense league all you want. Nowadays it's become such a frequent occurrence that it stopped being special.
If it was rigged Lebron would not have kept getting to the finals. Viewship actualy goes down when he makes the finals. Don't take this the wrong way, I am not a lebron supporter, just sayin.
@@boskey10an NDA isnt a magical thing that prevents criminality from being exposed. They're heavily involved in betting, if it was outright rigged across the board it would be a hilariously massive lawsuit and any NDA broken in the process of exposing it would be void. They nudge it in whatever direction they want to hence why LeBum is involved in so much rigged bs due to the NBA & media trying to push him as the GOAT.
Jokic would be lebron in ur hypothetical scenario lmao not the other way around. Lebron is the better all around player who always makes the right play, Jordan is a scorer who always wants the ball in his hands. Jordan would be Embiid and Jokic would be Lebron. So If you think Jordan is miles above Lebron, then you should probably think Embiid is miles above Jokic

I would be disappointed if Embiid doesn't play in Denver they play the 76ers again next Saturday. The Jokic, Giannis, and Embiid rivalry is great for the NBA.
@@biga9805 LMAO Embiid can score 70 every night and win MVP this year but it changes nothing about him. He didn't deserve MVP last season and he's still a free throw merchant who *always* chokes when it matters.
I agree totally with you. BUT, I also understand that there is "resumes" to be taken into account for this award. NOTHING would have indicated Embiid "deserved" that award last year. If "deserve" didn't have anything to do with it last year, it should't matter this year either.
@@lbjovermj5510 Embiid has not gone past the second round of the playoffs. How can a guy that is a notorious choker when it really matters be better than the guy who last season just won finals MVP? Embiid's winning on the regular seasons mean nothing. Joker is the one who took his team to a championship. Embiid was being hella passive on the 4th quarter of key playoff games. What kind of MVP is that without the clutch factor when it really matters?
This is the biggest cope job ever. Embiid won MVP last year and his having an even better year this year in every major statistic, IN LESS MINUTES. He is on pace to become the 2nd player ever to average 1 point per minute for a season and the only other guy to do it was Wilt. He’s on pace to break Jokic’s PER record, and he’s on pace to become the 2nd player ever to average 35, 10, 5, Wilt did it in 46 mins, Embiid only takes 32. And fun fact, if you take away every NBA players free throws Embiid still leads the league in scoring.
What stats r not telling u here is that he played only 3 away games against above .500 teams, he is big against last in league Spurs but last night he didn't play in Denver again because of "sore knee". As Jeff Van Gundy said, he always underperform when it matters most.
@@cadulino83 oh yea so now he’s ducking smoke from the 13 win Trail Blazers too then? Because he was out last night with the same injury🤣 what a dumb narrative. No reigning MVP is scared of playing NOBOBY. Embiid already gave Jokic 41, 10, n 8🤣🤣
@@FlashyShad Jokic has ring and FMVP while your boy is gone every year in second round. How many points he had last year in game 7, 15? godzilla size pussy :D :D :D
Sixers being the 3rd seed still had a better win percentage than the no.1 seed Denver and the East was way more competitive than the West. Embiid also averaged 33, the most by a center since Kareem. It could have gone either way. And also it’s a regular season award, playoffs don’t matter.
You know what Skap? Joel Embiid can AVERAGE 50+ points a game every year in the Regular season. And I still WON’T be impressed. Because ITS OBVIOUS that He’ll just Drop 9 Points and CHOKE in the Playoffs Every year when it TRULY matters. The Proof is in the Pudding. Joel Embiid CAN ONLY DOMINATE in the Regular Season.
He’s literally the biggest and strongest player in the league. He doesn’t even need to flop. He would still get plenty of fouls and put up just as good stats. It’s sad to see him go down this route
Exactly. Embiid is massively talented, no doubt, but when the refs award him way more FTs than he should get, that disqualifies him, especially when he misses so many games.
How about root for the players you like instead of being a lame brained hater of players you don't like. Every player in the league flops and every smart player foul hunts. Get over it
jokic got petty mvp as well, 2021 sixers were number 1 in the east but they didn’t give it to embiid and 2022 jokic’s team is 6th seed because “he had no help”. that’s a petty award tbh.
Just to be fair....Michael porter jr is 16 a game and 7 boards, 48 percent from the field, and 40 percent from the 3. I think the teams are equal. I get Tyrese numbers are more impressive but he's not a better player than Jamal Murray not at this point. Jamal has never put up crazy numbers in the regular season but in the playoffs he looks more like an elite pg. not disagreeing with general point of the video.....embid didn't deserve that mvp last year but Denver an Philly teams are on par with each other
Sure. I will give you "on a par", but the general narrative is that Denver has a BETTER roster. I bet Maxey will be an all star this year and Murray will not be. And in fact, he has NEVER been. I agree though, watching Murray in the playoffs last year he looked like he belonged on not just an all star team, but an all nba team.
Ummm. Ain't this dude averaging over 35ppg? The problem is the game is so easy now so many people are putting up monster numbers. He deserves it if he gets it
This is a joke , Embiid was destroying the NBA last season and F analytics go by the eye test as we are seeing this season and playoffs doesn't count for MVP
My MVP race list would be: 1. Nikola Jokic 2. Shai Gilgeous Alexander 3. Giannis Antetokounmpo 4. Luka Doncic 5. Joel Embiid Embiid sits out of too many games for me to consider him a Top 3 MVP contender, because it helps his stats if he plays less.
Luka?? I’m sorry last night showed he’s not ready. He has a selfish play style that doesn’t lead to wins & makes his star teammates into spot up role players.
More skap hypocrisy. Claims those who focus on analytics and stats are losers, but than mentions the reason why Jokic should've won last year is because he led the leagues in advanced stats.
With Embiid, I want to see him succeed in the post season and win a title. Only then I’ll debate him against Jokic or Giannis. But rn, he’s the 3-6th best player in the league. Hes having an insane season, but if he can translate it towards the playoffs, then no one will criticize him for it.
Fair. BUT he hasn't shown it in the post-season yet. I would say, he has a case at 3-6. Other players like Luka, and Shai are in that convo, and Tatum I suppose. NONE of them have proven it in the playoffs and the one I have the MOST confidence in of those three is Shai. I have seen the others FAIL repeatedly in BIG moments. Shai hasn't been there yet so we don't know. Jokic and Giannis are BY FAR the top 2. It's those two then a MASSIVE void, then everyone else.
@@skap_attack Dont pretend Luka's 2022 WCF campaign didnt exist... Mavs missed playoffs last year due to chemistry not working out with Kai (Fixed now) and Front office deciding to tank even though the playoffs were still very much in sight because they wanted D-Lively in the draft.
Luka the best PG in the league and 3rd beast player in NBA imo, Shai 5th best nba player and 2nd best PG until I see him get playoff experience and see him actually do good.. not to mention Luka's previous battles with the Clippers in previous playoffs, dropping multiple 40pt games and even a game winning buzzer beater so yeah
Embiid is better than free throw merchant Giannis. At least Embiid doesnt get bounced out the first round like Giannis Giannis is literally a likeable LeBron. A Freethrow merchant who the league keeps pushing despite terrible playoff losses
I won’t be surprised if Embiid gets “injured” and can’t play in the playoffs or past the first round this year so he can avoid another embarrassing early exit.
The media hates European Ballers, simple as that. I remember in 2021 when Perk said that Giannis was the 2nd sword of the Bucks or when all the media criticized the Joker last year until he obliterated the West or two days ago when Shaq said that Shai is WAY better than Luka. They can’t accept the fact that more technically sound players from Europe (and not pure athletes like Bron) are dominating his american league.
The Problem with Luka is, Dallas didnt step up the recent years... Compare to that what okc was in the past years.. I saw Luka playing then he was 16 here in Europe.. But I get the point of shaq

Quite frankly last year, there were no wrong answers between Giannis and Jokic. BOTH had GREAT cases, and it would have been the third one for either player.
@@skap_attack -- I'd add that MJ and Lebron could have won more MVPs but voter fatigue. It's why Jokic and Giannis missed it. Embiid is fine. He won, not the worst recipient in '23. Jokic and Giannis really don't care about the regular season MVP: they have the chip and MVPs.
Jokic should’ve won it for sure. This year it could be SGA, Luka, or Giannis taking the MVP. Embiid doesn’t play enough games for me to consider him the MVP.
@@skap_attackthe fact u didn't mention the fact that embiid AVG a ridiculous 34 point in great efficiency and was a better defender having to carry James harden shows just how shameless u are

The amount of coping thats going on because Embiid won MVP last year is hilarious. A regular season award largely predicated on momentum and crazy stretches. If you told someone a week before MVP was announced that Joel was winning it, no one would be mad as he rightfully earned it. Yall can go back after the fact and cry all you want. Jokic and Embiid have so much respect for each other it’s pathetic their fan bases don’t share that
THE PITY MVP WAS EMBARRASSING WENT OUT OF THE WAY TO NOT GIVE IT TO GIANNIS WEN EVEN JJ REDDICK AND THE INFERAL KENDRICK PERKINS ACTUALLY AGREED ON GIANNIS CRYBID COULDA GOT IT THIS YEAR FAIR AND SQUARE IF NOT FOR THAT
This year, I'd say it's between Luka, Giannis, and Embiid, but Embiid hasn't done enough in his career to deserve a two peat in MVP so hopefully Luka or Giannis walks away with it this time. Jokic is simply focusing on the playoffs right now; he knows that another chip and finals MVP would mean a lot more than a regular season MVP. If he wanted to he could easily put up the numbers to put himself in the MVP conversation, but that's not his goal right now.
I agree totally with this. Honestly Embiid very well might "deserve" this year's. BUT he didn't deserve it at all last year. Like, NOT EVEN CLOSE. So someone else should get his year's..
If Jokic REALLY wants to he can drop 35 and 15 every game, but he'd rather get his guys going and make plays that actually win the game, instead of focusing on stockpiling stats or looking cool.
@@skap_attackI dont think Embiid shouldve won MVP last year, but I thought (and a lot of their nba peers) Embiid shouldve won when Joker won his 2nd... I think last year was the "make up" for that. Before we go back and forth, i'm a sixers fan and I know that Joker is the better player and Embiid fades in the post season, trust me I know.... but MVP is a regular season award, and we finally have a competant coach this season. I'm hoping Embiid can have a good playoff run and shake off the narrative that he fades in the playoffs. If he fades again its time for us to trade him while his value is sky high and try something different built around Maxey 🤷♂️
When Michael Jordan lost a MVP, no one bytched like Jokic fans. They act like Embiid’s Sixers were in last place and he averaged 20ppg with shytty analytics. Embiid averaged about 10 ppg more than Jokic and they were about even on rebound. Assist its was 9.8 to 4.5, which is expected. Jokic was the primary ball handler and playmaker. Whereas, Harden had that job last season for Philly and led the NBA in assists, at a shade under 12 pg.
Let’s also mention when he is winning he’s happy but when he looses he pouts. I’ve seen those videos that highlight bench players and role players trying to keep Embiid’s head up. That’s absolutely pathetic. Role players need to keep the head up for their franchise player. Definitely lacks the Mamba mentality
@@biga9805 how so? It’s a long term mentality and personality trait. Showing me otherwise for a game or even a season doesn’t mean anything if you resort to your real self in the end or most of the time.
@@biga9805 if you are referring to scoring 70, that’s not the mamba mentality. Plus I said how he pouts when he looses. I will revisit this conversation come playoff time.

while reading this thread, there are no real or true basket ball fans here. It's cool . This is how you guys cope. It has to be so hard to watch Embiid tear apart Gordon and Jokic for 41 pts. But what should freighter who Jokic fans is that , he never gets a triple double against the sixers mainly because Embiid can actually deny Jokic his pocket spots. All this windshares and PER and OUD.... does not matter in this match up. It never did. It's always one sided. And instead of hiding behind meaningless stats and Joel's past playoff history as a cope, you should really really look at this game more closely. EmbIid had 10 assist along with 41 points . He is going to play in Denver and score 50 points. dOC RIVERS IS NO LONGER THE COACH AND jAMES hARDEN no longer plays in Philly. This is going to be a nightmare. Those 10 games missed are a crutch.. cheating the game just like LeBron. Asterisk needs to be applied to scoring titles due to longevity (load) Management Disrespect to past legends
Not only does he foul bait and whine, EmPlead exhibits every trait that’s annoying about millennials and gen Z’ers off of the court. Idk how anybody can like this dude
A big thing I think should be talked about is the fact I feel Jokic seems to be playing at 85% capacity and Embiid is at 100% Definitely just an opinion but I feel when the time comes Jokic can take his game to the next level and perform greater whereas Embiid seems to me he has no more in the tank to give.
I just feel as if Jokić really doesn`t care about the MVP. thats why sometimes he has those games where he has like 5FG attempts, he is purposely trying to take himself out of the conversation and avoid all the drama to keep his team under the radar even though dude is more than capable of averaging 30+ ppg, Embiid on the other hand is the one who is stat padding, fishing for foul calls and averaging ridiculous amount of freethrow attempts. We all saw in the playoffs last year who is actually the best player, and who is easily the biggest choker
Embiid just had 70pts, 15rebs, 5 ast, 1blk, 1stl. 8 were offensive rebs. Only one 3 on 2 attempts. Almost 60% from the field. Ben Simmons bailed out the process. Ever since 76ers been chasing the missing piece. Nuggets got Murray, Porter Jr, Aaron Gordon. They put the right vets around Jokic like Jordan and Jackson. In the last 3-4 years besides Harris it's been different rotations. Maxey just getting truly established. Murray, Porter Jr and Gordon are all borderline all-stars. All 3 avg 15-20pts, 4-7 rebs, 4-6 ast. All 3 shoot over 30% from 3, Porter JR, 40%. Each has over 50% career FG%. Gordon's is almost 70%!!! Its the same BS u say about Kobe winning with no established stars. BS!! Love Kobe, RIP..Those Lakers teams were STACKED. Gasol in the HoF. Bynum was a legit 20 & 10 with 2+ blocks a night. Artest and Odem were some of the best athletic wings in the league at the time. Bro I question if you were alive at the time. Not a 8 year old either. At least a young adult who actively watched games. Not just played SNeS or PS2 n knew superstars.
Embiid could score 100 in the regular season, he'll forever be an injury prone pathetically weak choker come playoffs time. Keep trusting the process mate lol
Not stacked bro.. people with eyes see Kobe is hyper good. He’s two star players in one. Gasol is not a HoF player.. it’s strictly association with Kobe that he got in. He is one of the weakest cases in the HoF
@shizdakid 1st off I, without a doubt, recognize Kobes PURE GREATNESS... Top 3-5 All-Time with no debates....You either were not alive or were a mere child during that run...I watched it live. Hear me out... Gasol is a 6x all-star. Only 3 of those years were w/Kobe. 4x all-NBA, not all w/Kobe. He put up the same stats & shooting splits with Bulls from 14-16. He was also the ROTY with Grizzlies, who he made semi relevant basically alone. Andrew Bynum, when healthy, n he was during the 3 Finals appearances. He was a legit 15 & 10 with 2 blocks a night. He was a top 3-5 center in they ENTIRE NBA at that time. Also, another former All-NBA player. You don't just make all-NBA teams riding cotails. That's like saying Larry Huges, Varejao, and Ilgauskas should have all won rings and been all-NBA players all those years wit LBJs on those early Cavs rosters. It doesn't work that way. Ron Artest, another All-star, former Defensive POTY!!! 4x all-defensive. Was in the running for DPOTY 8X!!! 2nd, 4th, and 5th in voting 3 of those years. He was a dominant versatile wing who also hit open catch n shoots. Lamar Odem, 6th man of the year 2010-2011 and was in the running for it 3 years in a row. Avg 13pts, 1 steal and 1 block per. Also had massive wingspan was a legit 2-way who could also hit open catch n shoots, rebound and finish very well around the rim. U got crafty vet in Fisher who hit timely shots and didn't turn the ball over. A young Matt Barens and Luke Walton off the bench. N they were good rotational players back then. The team was very deep and had a great mix of chemistry. Let's also not forget Phill Jackson...only arguably the greatest coach in NBA history..Put down the drugs boss
you know why Embiid Giannis and Jokic are having historical stats? Stat inflation. These stats don't mean as much as they used to. All of these stats are kind of empty, the analytics really just serve to buoy modern players. They aren't actually GOAT level. Generation leading talent? Sure. But these are far from greatest players of all time, none can string together more than one ring. Neither really reaches the level of past MVPs even weaker ones like Nash or Rose, despite less flashy stats, cause the era is just different and 25 pts is just chump change now. All of the modern players are massively overrated and thus you are wrong in hyping up Jokic and Giannis's advanced stats like that.
*THE RACISM HERE IS REAL* how can someone averaging 35 ppg and getting the same amount of rebounds as Jokic be a "JOKE" for MVP? You just can't accept that a white European doesn't win the award for the NBA's Best Player every single season regardless of the stats??
Joel does this every year. He "dominates" the home fixture and makes an "MVP Statement" then ducks the away match in Denver in the second half of the season, before wetting the bed in the playoffs... He hasn't played in Denver in 4 years! They need to stop this!
The first time I disagree with you Embiid is a legitimate mvp candidate those last 5 years He just faces better MVP candidates through that span It’s not a fallacy from him Last year it’s clearly Giannis who was robbed This year it’s SGA the front runner
Embiid and Giannis are legit 2 way players. Why is defense never discussed when comparing Embiid and Jokic. What kind of rim protection does Jokic provide. Jokic has some decent defensive moments, but he’s no Giannis, Embiid or AD on the other side of the ball. At this point, Embiid could average 50ppg and have the best record in the NBA and haters will constantly mumble about some analytic and what he didn’t deserve.
Embiid was second in player efficancy last year just a point or two behind joker in the regular season, and led the league in ppg. I think joker should of won it especially since how the playoffs went but you cant factor that in for mvp, both were deserving canidates. Now will you ever make video on how lebron deserved mvp over d rose or we just going to be biased.
I despise Joel Embiid and think Jokic is a better player however Embiid definitely had a regular season deserving of MVP that year and so did Joker and Giannis. What is crazy to me is homie said “advanced stat losers” but used advanced stats for Jokic being “BPM” “WS” “WS/48”, all advanced metrics💀
@@precision8763 I didn't even get to that part of the video when he said that, guess he just uses whatever stance that fits his argument. Makes him seem like a liar.
“30 year old loser” I think the real loser is the outta shape guy making this video😂😂 can’t we just appreciate greatness, this dude is averaging 35 11 and 6 and people just can’t stop the hating😭 he’s gonna win another mvp and a ring this year go cry about it
I don’t get the point of tearing Embiid down to give Jokic his props. Jokic is the better player because of last year’s playoffs and championship run. To act like Embiid doesn’t even deserve to be considered is ridiculous. They’re both transcendent players. Embiid would be 3rd behind Jokic and Giannis, in my opinion.
MVP is a regular season award! What tf is so hard to understand? He is clearly the best player this season, while his team is having succes. Last year you could arguably say so as well, but it was definitely not undeserved. And all those casuals saying he is a free throw merchant, dont know ball. First of all stop fouling him then and secondly by your logic the NBA should ban free throws completely?
Let’s all be real. Racism towards Jokic got Embiid the MVP last year. And this year, Jokic doesn’t want the attention so he is making sure he doesn’t have the stats to get it, yet still making his team win. So he stole one from Jokic, which wasn’t necessarily his fault. More Kendrick Perkins. And Jokic is giving it to him this year.
Man is getting bodied by back up and 3rd string centers 😂 man would be averaging 15 points this plays offs if he didn’t flop after being touched every time down the floor. Thats why he choked every 4th quarter because he can’t get this bullshit foul calls when the game is on the line. Man passed up an open 4 foot jumper just to get blocked by precious achiuwa on the last possession of the game. Precious wasn’t even in their rotation until Joel purposely hurt Robinson 😂😂
No he can keep it. BUT he DAMN SURE should NOT be in consideration THIS year. It doesn't matter IF he DOES "deserve" this years. If deserve didn't matter last year, it shouldn't this year.
Jokic has a better team round him... Micheal porter jr , Aaron Gordon and Reggie Jackson are better than everyone else on the sixers you didn't name. And i don't remember you guys getting mad a Jokic winning the mvp when his team was a sixth seed and got swept in the second round by the suns.
Embiid is more skilled, joker is just a basketball genius, he's not even playing hard still destroying the league, he's thinking about horses and shit dropping triple doubles. Im taking joker tho...
Kendrick Perkins is such a tool. First, 2 of Magic's 3 MVPs came in seasons where he wasn't top 10 in scoring. Secondly, Dirk's only MVP came in a season where he was tied for 10th in PPG and number 5 in total points that season. THE MAN CANNOT EVEN READ A STATSHEET CORRECTLY. WHY IS HE ON TV?????
You know it's very disgraceful that they gave Joel the MVP since MVPs are won by Europeans, they need to give the MVP to an American or close to American since Joel is a dual citizen. The most petty was Perkins throw a race card to make the voters feel bad for not voting Joel, and it worked. Joel was really great but Jokic statwise and win % wise beat him in all of that, and they gave Joel the MVP out of petty
Skap. I love ur Kobe and Lebron content but you seem to Love Jokic and absolutely hate Embiid. Which doesn't allow you to be objective when it comes to Embiid. What you do in the playoffs has no bearing on mvp and shouldnt since its a regular season award. I think you need to evaluate the context of Embiids playoff and reg season career and not be so focused on Jokic.
Now that Embiid probably isn't getting the mvp this season because of the 65 game threshold, I think it should go to Luka Doncic. Luka has averages of 35, 9 and 10 with 50, 40 and 80 shooting. That's definitely mvp worthy when you consider Jokic is averaging 26, 12 and 9 on 60, 35 and 80 shooting and that Giannis is averaging 31, 12 and 6 on 60, 25 and 65 shooting. If it's anyone but Luka, I'll not be happy.
