Don't be a hypocrite; it makes you look like an ass.
People overlook how much the charges against Kobe in 2003 hurt his overall reputation and relationship with the media. Just in time for the media to pivot for LeBron as their self-proclaimed king.
And Kobe took the media’s hatred of him and used it as motivation. The media screwed him out of multiple MVP’s and devalued his championships, yet Kobe didn’t care. He just wanted to win championships. Which he did.
It's sad this is even a discussion. This dude was never close to kobe. The only people you MAY be able to put over kobe are Kareem, Bird, maaaaybe magic. In my opinion none of those are better but you can atleast make a case. LeBron is nowhere in that conversation. It's really laughable.

That's not really LeBron's fault, though there was a difference in competition between the conferences that's for sure.
When it comes to skill alone, LeBronze is like the kid who brings a water gun to a paintball match. He may have some "impressive" numbers and highlight reels, but when you break it down, it's clear that Kobe was on a completely different level. LeBronze's reliance on brute force and lack of true skill make him the odd one out in this conversation about greatness.
Well, Shaq was Monster... but give him the ball at the 3point line to create something... i guess not much happens. Shaq NEEDED a brilliant playmakers like Kobe who spread the court and gave Shaq the opportunity to stand right at the hoop to put the pass into the ring.
I dont even understand the logic of some people. People widely consider MJ the goat and the media usually say Kobe is the closest the league has gotten to Mj, some have even said they are so close, it is 1A and 1B, so if that's case surely Kobe would be top 2 to 5 just by that logic. The other logic inconsistency i dont get is people routinely consider Magic a top 5 player, Magic and Kobe's career numbers/accolades/personell are similarly ish but somehow Kobe's placement is question, and Magic is unquestionable a top 5 player.
You're making WAY too much damn sense here. I just don't understand and never will the obvious Kobe slander and hypocrisy in these damn lists. The only point against him is he only has 1 mvp. BUT he has the third most top 5 finishes for MVP ever behind only Kareem with 15 and LeBron with 14. Kobe has 11 which is more than Jordan, Wilt and Russell. Somehow all of those guys have AT LEAST 4 and Kobe only was given one. I am not holding the fact the media HATED Kobe against him when evaluating him as a player.
@skap_attack even if they bring up the mvp argument, all the people who have more mvps such as Magic and LBJ have far less all defensive selections to Kobe so to me it balances out.

Media never talk about his flops, which he has been doing his entire career. 2. Media and Bronsexuals always disrespect other all time greats' legacies just so they can hype LeChoke up. 3. Media and big NBA youtube channels lie about him "clutch" when he clearly isn't. LeChoke would rather pass the ball in the final moments since he is a horrible finisher at clutch time. You don't believe me, then search up "LeBron James clutch shots made: Regular season". The basketball reference clearly shows that out of 200 sample of "clutch" shots that LeChina took, he only made 15 of them. That's why even in the recent games, you will see him passing the ball or even straight up getting blocked constantly, as in the case of last year's conference finals against Denver. 4. Media constantly makes excuses for him for all his problems, as shown consistently in Skap's videos. It's all his teammates for some reason, when he basically is the GM of the franchise with how much power he has over players' contractual decisions and he's the one who brought them in. 5. Refs are very lenient on him with calling fouls for him and against other players. They also just straight up overlook his travels. This is very clearly shown in the recent games with Pelicans. Angry Old Hoops Fan actually did a breakdown video discussing this. Search up "LeBron "Shines" in Blowout Loss to Pelicans". Overall, LeChoke, LeESPN, and Bronsexuals are all a joke. The only thing they can do is just lie. Not to mention, when discussing legacies and stats, the context only matters when it's favorable to them. So they are also hypocritical in that regard.

A thing people often leave out that matters to me for whatever reason. The only dudes I ever emulated growing up were Jordan and Kobe because they were both so damn smooth to watch. Lebron looks like a 18 wheeler barreling down the highway while they were both poetry for the eyes.
you didn't try to do what LeBron did because no one in the history of basketball can. he's a unique talent with a wide skillset and is one of the most athletic players to ever play the game. in his peak he could play and guard any position from 1-5. its not because you didn't want to run and dunk and shoot like bron, its because you couldn't.

before we can even have this conversation, an important aspect is that things that le-media uses to detract from kobes legacy/place in the nba greats, is completely ignored or explained away through excuses for lebron(not using the same standard for both players, a.k.a double standard). mainly turnovers, shots missed and HELP. for Turnovers: lebron(#1) @ 1455 games has 5078 TO's, kobe( #5) @ 1346games has 4010 TO's. Can you imagine the amount of hate Kobe would have received if he didn't went to three straight finals without Shaq and winning two of them back to back.Crazy! Kareem only won one title without Magic not only that he struggled to get back to the finals before Magic came along.
Kareem and Magic also had James Worthy, who is in the HOF. In addition, they had Bryon Scott, Michael Copper, and Kurt Rambis. Granted, they were not HOF plsyers, but they were awesome role players. The 80s Lakers were stacked. I just find it funny that ever other player gets a pass for having another great teammate or teammates, excpet Kobe. It's always "he was carried by Shaq."
I respect brons game accordingly however Kobe has always been my guy. But I truly love watching you dismantle the narrative surrounding brons mid legacy
Honestly it all comes down to Kobe v LeBron. I grew up in the 90s but really started studying the games in the 2000s. Kobe was EASILY the best player in the world, winning titles and LeBron was somehow ALREADY getting thrown in those conversations. From right around 2007 and running till right around TODAY, for the life of me, I will never understand the consensus of LeBron being put over Kobe. I know what my eyes have told me. I watched all of their careers in totality.
@@skap_attack wdym somehow? LeBron blows Kobe out of the water stats wise. PPG, APG, RPG, SPG, etc. Overall points, Kobe was also statistically the WORST shot taker in NBA history with the most MISSED shots in NBA history. I feel like people also put Kobe super high in the top 10 when they don't look at the facts.
@@skap_attack lol are you sure you can watch? LOL One more ring with 15 ppg, less mvp, less fmvp, less finals run, less at everything besides all defense team altough Kobe never was top5 at dpoy, Bron was dpoy runner etc. Kobe never shoot over %47, Bron' career was over %50. Even at scoring Bron scored better. How could you think Kobe better? LOL
@@mustafamete656715 Ppg. Such a convenient take, to ignore the pacers intentionally injuring Kobe in game 2 to have a chance, and Kobe playing 3 games on that injured ankle. But 15 Ppg 😂 you fucking dweeb
Even Lebron being top 5 is debatable. No player that is known for losing should be sniffing the top five in anyone's list. 4-6 in the finals. Has the record for most games lost in the finals in NBA history. While playing most of his career in the weak East and with super team after superteam. Also has been swept in the finals TWICE! And as far as mastering the game of basketball, LeBron has never been in the top 10 of most skilled players in the league in any year that he's been considered the best player in the league. His skill set is limited compared to many other greats. I can go on and on. No player with that many faults should be sniffing the top five. And stats without context are meaningless. Jordan, Kobe, Kareem, Bird, Magic, then the rest.
I agree completely. LeBron can be in the second grouping of 5 somewhere between 6-10 along with Wilt. Another statistical entity that was 2-4 in the Finals. I mean, Jerry West isn't even considered top 10. His statistical averages are nearly identical for his career as compared to Lebron. He went to 9 finals in his 14 year career. UNFORTUNATELY, he was 1-8 in the finals and WINNING MATTERS. At least it always did until this loser era we currently reside in.
@@skap_attack Agreed. And there have been other players with crazy stats that have not been considered top five or even top 10. Like Karl Malone. He had been second place in the most points scored in their careers for a very long time behind Kareem. But just because he scored that many points , which again was because of longevity, he was still not considered to be top 10 in most people's eyes. But now LeBron fans want to say LeBron is the goat because he scored a lot of points based on longevity like Kareem and Malone did? Delusional. And again stats are meaningless without context.
@@skap_attack Kobe vs Lebron Age 22 vs Tim Duncan LeBron James averaged 22.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 6.8 assists in 4 games in the 2007 NBA Finals. Lebron swept 4-0 Kobe Bryant averaged 33.3 points, 7.0 rebounds and 7.0 assists in 4 games versus the Spurs in the 2001 Western Conference Finals. Kobe wins 4-0 "i think he's the best player in the league by far" - Shaq 2001 (post kobe 48pts 16 rebounds vs kings and next game 45pts on spurs) Hand checking was still allowed in 2001 but not in 2007 lol
Its crazy how people give LeBron props for beating the spurs and then make excuses for him loosing to them , but never mention Kobe had to fight them for 20 years 😂
It doesn’t matter how difficult your road to the Finals is. Just breeze through the playoffs and meet a tough team in the finals and you get an immediate pass to lose.
What im saying man Kobe was the best period. Everybody growing up playing ball back then wanted 2 be like the Mamba he learned from all the greats he took from all the og goats and worked it into his game somehow y he was so great n so deadly
Remember that Kobe has a winning record against Duncan in the playoffs and unlike Duncan he was able to defend his championships and repeat. Yet they still say the 2000s were Duncan’s era….
We make excuses for Kobe as well. When he got drafted and came off the bench made excuses. When Shaq left the made excuses about his teammates. After he tore his Achilles we made excuses.
The icing on the cake was just days ago, Lebron didn’t wanna speak to the media after getting blown out at home against a Jimmy Butler-less Miami Heat. Such a loser mentality. No matter what, you should always stand by your team and take credit for the losses as much as the wins. LeCrybaby never wants to shoulder any blame, cracks under pressure every time. I cant think of anybody in the top 10 ever having this issue. Only Lebron.
the thing is, we'll forgot that before kobe became the face of the lakers, it was shaq all along. You can never put a dude who wasn't the alpha of his team or the main man of his team for his 3 straight rings as a goat. kobe is not him, I can even take td over him
It's also important to note that before the Gasol trade, Kobe had the Lakers rolling and looking like a championship contender. The trade only came after Bynum got hurt. The most likely scenario if Bynum stays healthy is that the Lakers make a trade for veteran bench depth or nothing at all. Gasol came to a team that was already playing like a contender. And what was their biggest roster move prior to the season? Derek Fisher...Not some other big name all-star
I swear people keep forgetting this. It’s why I rolled my eyes when Brian Windhorse and all them were saying that Pau Gasol saved Kobe’s legacy. Gasol was a very skilled and smart player but cmon… Jesus Christ.
And, how many of Shaqs points, were a direct result of Kobe’s playmaking and assist to Shaq? Including that dunk against Portland in that epic comeback. How about this thought… Maybe Kobe could have played 22 seasons, if he wasn’t carrying 350 pounds of Diesel for those years they played together.
F yeah bro, F yeah. Pure truth! Kobe disrespect has always been rampant. First in his early career it was bc he came in too close to Jordan's time and media that loved Jordan were not ready to compare the two in any way so he was criminally underrated by the media. Then later when he was just starting to get some love Lebron came in and the media wanted to make him the next big thing and needed to remove Kobe from the conversation to make Jordan vs Lebron a thing. So now again he is criminally underrated. I watched his entire career from first game to last and no one I have ever seen has compared to him except Jordan. I have Jordan 1, Kobe 2 though my favorite player is Kobe. Bron, though a great players is not really close to them for me.
Jordan in 13 years: 9 all defensive awards with a defensive player of the year. Kobe in 20 years: 12 all defensive awards Lebron James in 21 years: 6 all defensive awards Yet I am to believe Lebron James was overall better because of his defense? Why is no one mentioning this?
@@syzorst Uhhhh, probably because he's been playing for 21 years now. Its based on the number of minutes played. Cumulative stats always makes you look good.
@alfasiger4178 What? Kobe had played longer than Hakeem Olajuwon and yet Hakeem is higher in defensive win shares than Kobe. Defensive win shares is not accumulative stats. 🤣
@@syzorst It is based on time played. Hakeem was better defensively than Kobe. Thats why he has better win shares. Do you not know how the stat is calculated?
@alfasiger4178 it's goes by the formula of marginal defense/marginal points per win. One of the main reasons why Kobe's defensive win shares are not so high is because during the later half of his career, his help defense was suspect and he would blow defensive assignments and took far too many risk which costed his team games. Saying Kobe is a better defender than Lebron simply because he has more defensive teams is weak because again, by this logic you would say Kobe is a better defender than Hakeem because he has more than Hakeem.
Ofc he is Bron only won when he left his 60+ win team to join perennial all stars to try to out talent the competition. Bron closer to KD than Kobe tbh

It’s crazy to me how people mention Kareem when it comes to being over Kobe all time and than saying he got carried by Shaq… Kobe in his worst title run still was by far the second most important piece of the team who still was the one to clutch up the most important games when Shaq got hack a shaqed, while Kareem literally was just an alright roleplayer towards their last titles. Even funnier when they say „he couldn’t do it without Gasol“… I mean you just explained that Gasol was basically a nobody who wouldn’t even dream to be a HoF if he didn’t player with Kobe, but what’s with Kareem? During his absolute prime (age wise), he only got one single championship with one of the most stacked teams ever in 71, not getting another single championship THE WHOLE CENTURY until another top 5 all time player joined him (and a bunch of HoFs along the way as well) yeah but Kobe was carried 😂 it’s really laughable how some criteria only apply to Kobe and Koby only
Kobe got carried by Shaq, when Shaq couldn't win until Kobe came into his own, and Shaq had Penny and the Magic, and 2 all star guards with Van Exel and Jones with the Lakers😂
I've got this feeling the NBA is going to implode this year, concerning LeBum and his media cronies. It's getting harder and harder for them to uphold their lies and narrative, as more and more people are getting fed up with them and getting louder and louder against LeFinished and his gang of stans. Looking forward to that moment.

Media is so quick to point out that Kobe had Shaq, but they never bring up the fact that Lebum jumps from team to team just to win a ring. Mind you he had to team up with Wade to win his first ring. Let the late great Kobe ‘bean’ Bryant rest and give him his flowers. Lebum will never be on the same level as MJ and Kobe
Kobe also spoke multiple languages and is better educated, was much more humble putting Wilt as his GOAT, adoring MJ and trying to both mimic but also improve his game, learning from the greats and reading their books (like Bill Russel), and always pushing all day every day. Kobe's work ethic and love of basketball and his singular focus on basketball is legendary and will live well beyond his life. The media hated Kobe from the beginning and tried to smear him every chance they could. Kobe deserves his accolades, Shaq and MJ both miss him dearly and praise him and defend him highly, and his stats and records speak for himself. Kobe worked and trained hard, studied the game at an academic and in depth level, constantly watched and studied tape, studied individual players and learned how to guard them the best he possibly could, focused on his weaknesses, perfected his shot constantly, and knew his NBA history far bettet than the clowns in the media and the kids on social media now and respected and learned from the greats. So happy to see you defend and give Kobe his well deserved credit. I wish I gave him more while he was still with us because I was definitely a Kobe hater, but his achievements speak for themselves. Gone too soon but NEVER forgotten! #RIPBlackMamba
@@Millstreet12 Kobe had a higher overall IQ than Bron and that manifested itself on the court as per their turnover differential (the number one sign of basketball DECISION MAKING).

Besides Kobe's greatness, it's always mesmerizing that so many of greatest feats by players are accomplished by only one other player which is Michael Jordan.
KD has made several cowardly decisions in the past & it's fair to criticize him for it BUT when it comes to respect for all the all time greats that came before him he's one of the most informed & enjoyable NBA personalities today. I can understand the case for Kareem over Kobe. I can. From a pure resume standpoint, it makes sense. For years I had Jordan and Kareem at 1 and 2 and Kobe at 3. As of late tho, I have begun moving Kobe above.
If the media wasn’t screwing Kobe of his league MVP awards he’d have 6 or 7 MVPs. No way you lead your team to the finals in 2008,2009, and 2010 and only receive 1 league MVP award. We all know if LeFake did that he would have won league MVP ALL 3 years. They gave it to him in 2009 and 2010 and he played in a weaker conference and still didn’t lead his team to the finals.
I totally agree with the main point and I also believe that Bryant belongs to the conversation much more than James does, though I just wanted to add that Pau Gasol was absolutely an all-time great caliber as well.
For sure. When Kobe and Michael played the game it had a electric feel to it. I feel that the NBA is going downhill cause of LeBron crying over a toe on the line and other crap he does.
