John Deere 322 tractor with the "little buck" loader bucket. Bought the bucket a few months ago and have used it for moving and spreading 30 tons of rock at the airport in the driveway. Also have used it to spread 3 semi loads of wood chips dumped by the arborists trimming power lines in the area to make a walking trail. I use 200 lbs of suitcase weights on the 3 pt. and it does well on level ground. Anything not level needs more weight on the rear though.

What type of bucket is this, name? I have a 332JD that I'm looking to buy a bucket for. Btw, that was quick installing it on. Great video 👍

It is a "Little Buck Loader". I love how quickly and easily it intalls/removes. I dont even have to take the mower deck off either. I have another video of it doing some mulch work. It is very handy and I highly recommend it as a solution

@@flyingace478 Yes, it's definitely a great attachment. Did you buy this attachment at a john deere dealer? I'm looking to buy one just like yours, but I don't know where to buy it.

Great video and response to concern on frame damage. I have been looking for a loader for my 332 and ran across the "Little Bucket" and also had concerns on possible frame damage which you have alleviated. I do have a question which is do you know the hydraulic pressure at the four outputs on the front of your 322. I measured 850PSI hydraulic pressure at all four ports on my 332 just want to determine if this is enough pressure to operate the bucket. Saw your video with the snow blower on your 322. Thank you John

I do not know the output of my tractor specifically. However, I do know that the 322 (mine), 332 (yours), and 430 all use the same hydraulic pump. The manual on these tractors states that the normal operating range of these tractors is anywhere from 850-975 psi. That being said, as long as your pump is good, you shouldn't have a problem at all with lift capacity. Also, the guys building these have a 332 which they use to test every bucket before shipping, so I am absolutely positive that yours would run it without a problem. Here is a link to the manual which come in pretty handy at time is you don't have one already. archive.org/stream/JohnDeere322330332430Manual/John%20Deere%20322%2C%20330%2C%20332%2C%20430%20Manual#page/n497/mode/2up The section which details the hydraulic pressure is 250-15-7. Hope that helps!

Yes, this loader is made for the 318, 322, and 332. The hydraulic pump on all three tractors is the same exact one. In fact, the only difference is the engine. You will have no problem running the bucket with your 332. The only delay is experienced if you do not have a hydraulic lockout valve for the rear 3 point lift/ mower deck lift cylinder. This wont take away from the power of the system, but will result in slower flow rates until that rear cylinder has "maxed out" on travel. Then, the bucket will curl/rotate very quickly. I used mine for a few years without the lockout valve and just dealt with slightly slower actuation. But, it is a good idea if you are wanting to do more precision bucket work as the curl and deck lift cylinders use the same hydraulic port. (They will "creep" if you are in the mid-range of travel) Overall, I have been very happy with the unit. If you can, spend the extra $$$ and get the hydraulic lockout and you will have one sweet machine!

Can you do a video or post a pic about which lock out valve you installed? My 8yr old has a 322 and I’m working on getting him set up with one of these loaders.
@flyingace478
@flyingace478 3 года назад
@@philmastranduono1093 I actually didnt do a lockout valve. I have heavy ballast on the 3 point hitch that doesnt get used during bucket operations, so I adjust the height setting all the way to the stop/ highest position (this is also your mower deck height adjustment). This makes it so my 3 point hitch isn't constantly going up and down. There is a slight delay on the bucket curl since the unloaded cylinder will still travel, but it isnt a big deal to me.

I'm getting ready to buy one of those for my 430 Diesel. When you started talking about the hookups I had my fingers crossed you would tell us which one went where! lol I will have to ask them when I order mine. I think I am going to modify the one I get by running square tubing from the top pivot point down to a bracket that I will make to go under the center of the tractor for kind of a triangle connection point.

By switching the ports around, you can use either of the levers with the lift and curl functions... so put them where you want/ make it whatever feels natural to you. you can reverse the direction of the function by simply switching the output and return ports for that function. I set mine up so that pulling the outer lever curls the bucket up; pushing the outer "dumps" the bucket curl. Pulling the inner lever raises the lift; pushing it/ placing it in the float position brings the lift back down.

Have you heard of any issues with frame damage from directing all the force from the loader onto the ears of the frame? I ask because the regular JD 45 loader is mounted mid-ship to spread out the load.

I was actually very worried about this exact thing. Obviously, there is a lot of weight being place on the frame at the attachment points as well as having a large amount of leverage adding to the stress. However, once I looked into it and thought about it more, I realized that the actual weight bearing point is always on the very front pin which connects to tractor...even on the model 45. The mid-mounted bracket of the 45 simply combats the "twisting" action, but doesn't actually bear any of the load. I looked over a friend's 45 loader that was mounted on his 332 in order to verify, and it still made sense that the fulcrum was still that very front pin which would still take the abuse. I can say with 100% certainty that I wouldn't put one of these on a newer John Deere...at least not on anything below a 700 series. They just don't make them like they used to. I went ahead and got the bucket which was about half the price of a used 45, and haven't had any issues with the frame. I use the 48" mechanical tiller as ballast for heavy work, and am able to pick up full bucket loads of sand which make the rear end very light. The only downfall I have experienced so far is that since these aren't 4 wheel drive tractors, you have to be very careful when going on hills especially if there is dew on the grass. In that situation, I suggest hanging on tight and dumping the load as quickly as possible followed by smaller loads. Long story short, I had your same exact concerns, but am very impressed so far. I put a video of one of the first jobs that I used the bucket for up on my channel. I used it to back fill some dirt and move truckload of mulch. Granted it isn't heavy sand, but still two or three hundred lbs. worth with ease. Ill get a video of some heavy dirt work or sand up sometime when I have some to do.

Put one on last spring... Can't say I plan to remove it anytime soon. I have a mower for mowing so no real reason to take it off.. Too many uses for it to take it off and on..

How is the little buck loader doing? I am getting a x758 and would love to get a bucket for it. Buford bucket is no longer available, ctc bucket is too expensive so that leaves the little buck. I heard that I would need to install a different pressure relief valve than the one that comes on it. Know anything about that?

Still running strong. The weld along the attach point from tilt ram to the back of the bucket is failing, but I have given it way more abuse than I should have. I am going to beef this up with a plate and gussets. I used it during our massive Derecho that came through Iowa (inland hurricane-look it up if you haven't seen it) to clean up several large trees. A bunch of tree trimmers loved it because I was able to push full sized branches out of the way allowing them to quickly get in and finish thier jobs. I pulled many trees off fences and then pulled the crushed sections out of the ground. Several of these posts had a burried concrete base 4 feet deep. I am very impressed by its performance to date to say the least. I did not have to add anything to my setup, just plugged it in and go, but my tractor is a different model, so that may contribute.

More light at the critical points would have made this a great video instead of just a good video.. That's an easier way to install than the factory's directions.
