We just bought a 5075E for the farm, ours has the H240 loader, cab, and 4wd The AC in the cab will be nice for hay work! Glad to see you make this video, now I know what I'll be getting into when it comes time to service ours Thanks!
Wow, don't think I ever serviced a tractor that clean ! 😊 Have done a lot of them but are usually so nasty or muddy that you have to steam clean just to see where things are ! Yeah, those lights are nice, and NO BUZZING ! I've seen other colors of the hand panties but not the green, gonna have to look for them. Thanks for sharing and take care. 👍
I am fixing to buy a 5075E with a loader 4x4 and backhoe attachment to do mission work with here in Alaska. I enjoy watching your videos. They helped me make a decision to buy the tractor
I think you can take a small piece of flashing metal and make a little tray to slip under that filter and direct the oil off the frame and into the pan below. I did that for my boat motor and it works perfect.
The lights are a lot better I would much rather hear the frogs outside the shop than the buzz in the shop.Great video I like how you take the time to explain what you’re doing.
They're making the tractors more compact and it seams everything is in the way. I have the same problem when working on JR (6400). You have to compact yourself to get in there to the filters.
I have actually added a shut off to several of these tractors. Fuel line should run right along the frame rail back to the tank in the rear. I put the valve about even with the steps if I remember right. Been a while since I’ve done one but if I remember correctly that’s how I done it. Take care.
Wished I'd watched you first. Just did my 500 on a 5045E and lost 4 Gallons of diesel following Deere's stupid instructions and dealing with the free flow. Never thought of clamp and no 5045 videos on YT. Found out about you on TractorbyNet. Great video and camera and sound are excellent.
Thanks for the video. Procedure similar to servicing my Workmaster. Just like your Deere the dang dipstick is aggrrvating to access. I prefer white colored filters to mark with a black sharpie for date and hours. I use blue disposable gloves when servicing my New Holland. Never seen green ones before. Thanks again for all the videos.
Thanks for the reminder Tim! I had been looking at air nozzles and for the life of me could not remember what I needed it for so I did not buy it. When you mentioned the air filter and it hit me; I can't use the nozzle I have to clean my shop vac filter.
There’s a company called air comb that makes wands for blowing out air filters, radiators, and anything else you need to reach into to blow out. I have the 12” and a 36” wands and use the snot out of them on my tractor. I don’t remember where I got mine from but they were sure worth the money!
cotontop3 oh cool, I got mine a couple 3 years ago and looked for them online back then and couldn’t find anything on them. I have a buddy that drives trucks and he turned me onto them.
I hate horizontal filter positions because you can't pre-charged them to prevent blowing a huge snot of air across the bearings on start-up ! In this sort of situation I "pre-wet" the filter media with some of the new oil. Works for me but everyone that's worked with machinery for any length of time has their own habits and tricks !
The funnels are part numbers 720-1087, 720-1088, 720-1089, 821-2734 & 821-2735. According to size. You've set us up for failure on the filter, doesn't look like we offer that yet. Anyways Napa Mike is gonna send you a check for the plug!!!
Yea no cross on that one Brent that’s ok he’s not sure how to get to the Napa store he should try gps in that dodge if it has it hahaha see ya Napa mike
Tim, I had a 2012 5075E OOS that had a red fuel shutoff right before the filter. I now have a 2018 Cab 5075E that as the red fuel shutoff right before the filter. I've been looking at the JDParts website and can see it on the Tier2, 3 and IT4 versions, but the first tractors with the FT4 engines do not have a fuel shutoff for some reason.
Im surprised you were able to service a new tractor and didn't need to order some $65 special double extra oddball socket to fit at least one of the drain plugs.
You need to do some mods .fuel shut off on tank or right before filter and cut some more room around that oil filter and repaint the guard.I hate diesel fuel smell get that on you and it stays for days on your leather boots and it's stays for weeks ! I can deal with 90 weight smell seems easier to get rid of that smell of your skin
i was teaching a freind how to sevice and change oil in his concrete truck before i got under there he pulled the plug on the hydrolic tank dumped all 20 gallons lol
Them special JD Green kid glove "hand panties" are a must have to keep from voiding the warranty. Hehehe! Time to start selling a new line of JD CT3 lingerie in your store???😱
I have been quite happy with mine. I bought mine with a cab on it. They put in the cheapest radio (Jensen JHD xxxx) and I found a plug and play Jensen JHD 1635BT on Amazon that had am, fm, Bluetooth, Weather, and Sirius for $270. Two Allen bolts and 30 minutes and it was done. Exterior lighting for night use is pretty good front and back. If you want to disconnect the three point quickly, the imatch option is the best $300 you can spend. It runs more than a day on one tank if light duty, and about 6 hours if you are pulling hard (20 gallon tank). The A/C will keep you cool up to about 110 F. Above that, the A/C starts having a hard time keeping it cool, but it is NOT uncomfortable to run that way for hours. I wasn’t going to get the cab option (“too much money, I can work at night on hot days.....”) but am VERY thankful I did get it. I would have had numerous days on the farm where I wouldn’t have worked at all due to the heat without a cab. The rear window opens as well as the two side windows. My only issue was in day one. After about 2 hours of work, I noticed the three point wasn’t lifting all the way. I got out and saw there was a small puddle of hyd fluid under the cab. The seals on the manifold had blown (I found drips on the trailer that I brought it home with, so it was blown before I picked it up). I called the dealer and she had a service truck out to my farm by 3:15 that afternoon. Not a problem since then. All in all, I love the tractor. Instead if a box blade as part of the package, I swapped it for the Frontier 84” rear blade. I used that to cut my 1600 foot long driveway. Lately, I have been using the tractor to prep my field for grass planting next month.
Good service is key. I tried one at our place after it was in the shop like 6 weeks and it died on me a few days later & ended up sitting there for 2(!) weeks before they came back to get it. I ended up getting a Massey 4707 and have loved it the past nearly 2 years & 208 hrs. It’s a tad heavier than I need but works great when using the grapple with logs/trees & no rear weight/attachment needed. Also really love the tires..ag like performance yet r4 smooth. Glad you’ve enjoyed your JD!
It seems as though Deere deliberately places their filters in non convenient locations to where owners might prefer the Deere shop over DIY. One reason i am debating on LS over Deere is simplicity of maintaining it myself vs complexity of poor access and time vs shop doing it. Curious how Case does theirs on the 75hp range. Clean tractor though, does it work or gets prepped for shows? From what i here Deere does have really great parts distribution though.
Diesel does not bother me near as bad as 90 wt or the new synthetic gear oil chevrolet uses. They think putting a grape scent in it would help, just made it worse. That crap has to wear off instead of wash off.
Brenton meanders like I said before you can leadem to the water but can’t makem drink I sent him a picture of ssx pads if your picking up what I’m putting down see ya Napa mike
Sometimes i wonder what idiot decides to hide the filters or put 20 things around it. I'm an engineer and it makes me made. In the airplane/jet engine business they have people review the design to see there's any issue in getting to certain critical areas. Anyway how many hours have you racked up in her?
