Thanks Jim in PA, it is always good to have peer to sanity check an issue that somehow we lose the thinking path about. Thanks Warren for sharing and the exposure you have gotten over the years with other peers on your YT channel, that you would not have gotten working out of your shop by yourself. Take care folks in whatever you do!

Way to go Jim in PA. And this is a great lesson for the egotistical (obviously budding) technicians out there. Don't be too self-absorbed to ask for help. Someone has seen your problem, and only trick is establishing your network before your despite. I used iATN and my membership was invaluable. Good work Warren, honor a friends, even if you think you know!

That’s a fact, I’ve worked with several technicians over the years that were way too big headed to even dare ask for help and I saw it bite them in the ass many a times. I’ve been working with a a fellow tech now for over 10 years and obviously we’ve become good friends and we will ask each other for help as much as needed to get each other out of a jam. It’s very easy to get locked in on a problem and struggle to see past what you’re looking at and sometimes all it takes is a fresh set of eyes on the problem.

Thanks Jim, nice catch you guys. Warren nice piece of head work on the disassembly of the rear, that’s where your experience saves your customer money and helps make money and time for you to enable you to clear jobs out of the shop quicker. Nothing like experience and resource people to help solve problems. I learned a couple things from the vid, thank you sir, looking forward to other videos to come.

It always helps to have another "noodle" to ask, way to go Jim in P.A.! No dishonour in being stumped on a problem. That's why we have our networks of folks we trust to ask questions and learn from. Young guys need to realize, that it's that "shared" knowledge they need to develop to become competent in their trades. Well done Warren (and again Jim) nice to see you found the problem "with a little help from your friend". Sorry gratuitous music reference.. Stay Safe & thanks for the share!

Warren, before I forget again, I saw one hell of an interesting tool on another channel, can't remember which, but it was called a "Fender Lizard" that looked damned useful. It's really built to let mechanics do a one-man brake bleed, but it might be worth checking out for shift levers, etc. It's a pneumatic cylinder you hook up to an air source and it has a remote-control button so you get under the car, crack the bleeder and hit the button and the thing extends and pushes down the brake pedal (it's hooked to the steering wheel). Hit the button again and it releases.

Nice find Warren and many thanks to Jim in PA for the help. It doesn't take much sometimes to cause something to bind from wear. I noticed you had a hell of a time getting those discs separated as you tried to inspect them. Could they be worn enough as well to cause the smooth surface stickiness? I see where you can put two smooth surfaces face to face and the lock together almost like you glued them together. They put grooves in auto trans clutch discs to let fluid move in and out of the stack to allow them to slide or grip. Yeah, low hydraulic fluid will make a pump look bad when there is not enough fluid to even pump. Still a puzzle on the broken cable. It did break at the end of the threads so it could simply be fatigue but you will let us know what you find soon. Thanks for making the effort to do these videos. I much appreciate all the effort. I learn a lot from viewing them. I hope the swivel hook I sent for your engine lift fits your need to attach multiple strap loops in it.

moisture could be causing a short in the TCU, and when it slightly warms up, the moisture evaporates. Or a circuit board has a tiny crack in the conduction, which closes with heat.

Thanks Jim however it shows how dedicated you are to your craft and that not only did you reach out for a second apinon you also showed two of the most important things tought to any member in or who has in the past served in the military police ems or fire service as I learned as a member in the military once you master the fact that one the team concept two the buddy system and three last but not least important use your enishitve to solve the problem in your case you sought the advice of a fellow heavy equipment mechanic it wasn't a case of not knowing what the issue was it was you just needed a second pair of eyes and that's were the team and buddy system came in further you reamined me of a Sgt I had who took me under his wing and tought me there are two ways to do a job the right way and his way and his way was better than the right bleeping way and that's the whole concept of basic training once you master the concept of the purpose of it and then as I like to say it's along with many challenges we face in life it becomes mind over matter and it becomes a walk in the park rather than a unsolvable problem

Hello Warren I had a similar problem with a speed sensor when it was cold and we found that the wire wound core must have had a small break in the coil that was just starting to fail. Once it was warm it worked fine but it took a few starts to get it warmed up enough for it to stop throwing codes. Once we changed the sensor the problem went away.
