Complete disassembly, cleaning, and rebuilding of DLTX 53 carburetor for a John Deere AR. This is the carburetor from the AR we are rescuing from a field. This is also relevant for John Deere D carburetors, John Deere A carburetors, John Deere B carburetors, John Deere G carburetors, and John Deere H carburetors

Very nicely done. Your more of an expert than some of the self-proclaimed ones. Nice tip on removing the nozzle/emulsion tube. I believe you may need the spring though, as you cleaned it good. the vibrations may drop it into the bowl. Thank you!

You know, a few people have commented on the spring. It's hard to tell in the video, but that impulsion time is very tight. I had to hit it in. So far it's been fine. But time will tell.

Thank you so much for posting this video, it's going to be a big help for me rebuilding my carb on my JDB.

Very impressive rebuild given the amount of rust and corrosion. Was curious if you have ever used Evaporust to soak a carburetor. I have used the Berrymans product and found that the heavy rust and corrosion remain. I broke a dltx 71 trying to remove the bowl nut that was seized due to the fuel left in the bowl. My fault. Heat and patience prevails neither of which I practiced. Learned valuable lesson watching your rebuild.

Heat for the win! I've never used evaporust, but I'm sure it would work well. You're right, Berrymans doesn't really do anything to the rust. It just gets the tarnish and grime off parts.

Yes, this carb overhaul was a success and the old AR runs beautifully. I have a few videos of us plowing with it earlier this year. I wish you the best of luck. Patience and using a little heat always seems to pay off when dealing with stubborn fasteners or components. Cheers from Utah.

Looks just like mine. But I think I'll have to drill some.

I bought the kits, bits, and DVDs, but the DVDs always put me to sleep in 3 minutes. At least I can make it to the end of these ones. lol

Heat the brass plugs with an acetylene torch until you see a hint of green in the flame, let cool, and they will usually unscrew with very little effort.

I think you'll need to get a spring for the main jet.

Ended up not needing the spring. The emulsion tube fit snug enough that it doesn't fall out of place. Tractor is running good.

Later in the day I found the spring. Under the table where I worked over the carb. Put it in last night-no improvement. Time for some serious mag work.
