So nice wes. Cant wait to see them on your farm. When the 2 arrive on your farm you should line up all the JDs you have from smallest to biggest and do a little video montage. It would be so nice to see all that green lined up side by side. I bet Mr. Tim wont be able to sleep until they arrive lol
Wes your videos are never half long enough to for-fill my fix of your interesting journey. great to see your hard work paying of and expanding your business hats of to u wes u have an inspirational drive and u know what you want out of life 👌🏼 you definitely seem a lot happier and stress free than this time last year all thanks to the John Deere wind rower and the big pack lol it's all an interesting learning curve and thanks wes for sharing your life with us OLF family 😊
In 1978 my parents and I went on a Successful Farming European tour by bus seeing farms, big churches and castles. One day was a boat ride in the Rhine River. Another day was a tour through a John Deere tractor factory and I don’t remember which country it was in. The factory made tractors for Europe with rounded cabs but there was one country that the tractors had to have a square cab with an escape hatch in the roof. Part way through the factory some big guy on the assembly line who didn’t speak English raised his voice and waved for me to come over. He put his hands in a thing full of hot oil covered balls for bearings and put a huge hand full in my hands with the oil dripping on the floor. Being sometimes unsure of myself I didn’t know what to do and I put them in my right front pocket in which the oil soaked through the pocket and was burning the skin on my right leg. I don’t remember where we got rid of the balls but my mom was upset that my pants were permanently oil stained. The skin on my leg burned for a while if not into the next day.
Nice tractors you bought. I think the paint comes the aluminum because of the higher moisture in the air and maybe the salt in the air too. Can't wait to see all cleaned up and back at the farm.
I think somewhere in the computer menu you can switch from KPH to MPH, Brits don't think in KPH on the roads but lots of field work like spraying , fert spreading , and other stuff they go by KPH. And of course the 7530's in Europe are more than likely built in Germany, it's the small frame JD where as the 7930 is a large frame .
Nice purchases Wes, I'm sure they will do you well. That P.T.O. rocker switch you weren't sure about is to activate the remote P.T.O. start and stop buttons on the rear fender. The cable at 8.30 is for the pick up hitch release which has been removed for some reason. You can see one on the first tractor at 15 seconds in. If I am right then the red lever in the first tractor you saw was for the trailer brake release when you want to disconnect a trailer with the tractor brake applied.
Two nice tractors looking forward to seeing them once home. Hope you enjoyed your times with us in the UK your welcome back anytime. Sorry about the rain! We do have sunshine here!!!! Yes we really do lol interested to know what you thought of English beer . Great video looking forward to the next one
Bob, my wife and I spent three weeks in England this September and October, one in London and two in the country. Not meaning to step on your question to Wes but wanted to contribute my thoughts on English beer. I enjoyed all the brews across the land! Hard to decided which was best. Also enjoyed pasty and traditional pies. The bacon is amazing! Bacon buddies are great! Had traditional cream tea with friends near Stroud. Enjoyed the warm hospitality showed us by all the great people of England! A special thanks to the Londoners who noticed our London Pass and gave us their seats on the tube! Another wonderful experience was the construction worker in London who kindly gave us a list of pubs to visit that were off the main tourist path! Looking forward to hearing more about OLF's trip! Mind the Gap!
Ramblin Man If your pasty wasnt from cornwall im afraid 1. its not a proper pasty and 2. you cant rate your pasty because the ones not made in cornwall are always crap!
I agree with you on the 4960. All those 50,55 and 60 series tractors are bullet proof but it took mother Deere way too long to find out what road gear is. If you can stay in the field all day they are great tractors.
good purchases there wes, glad you didn't buy a 7930 i think you would have been disappointed with it. the 7530 is a super all rounder as a lot of contractors use them for baling. to answer your point regarding the cut out's in the weight carrier on the 8530, that is done because most people put the 900 or 1100kg weight block on the front but to do so those notches need to be cut as the weight is narrower than the carrier. also the big 7000's and the 8000's don't have cab suspension as they have deere's active seat which on the road is a really lovely smooth ride. hope you have many problem free seasons with those two machines.
Thays a basic cab for a 30 series. We got a 7310 and it was amazing inside, full auto with perfect seat, cab suspension. It was a great update from the 6215
2 good tractors!!! i would keep the 8120. i have an 81 and its awesome they are good tractors. i also have an 8330 powershift its a good tractor. you are gona love the ivt and suspension wes!!!
selling the 4960 would be regretted everyday if the 8530 replaces the 8120 on baler then sell it more money from it anyway. the 4960 doesnt cost you anything to keep if you dont use her much plus tim may not forgive you for selling it
we have a 7530Premium very nice tractor. nice with the loader but is a little rough when comparing it to TLS or cab suspension. the ivt is nice. also used to have a 8530 with ils. very smooth riding.
Nice tractors Wes! the 7530 is a good load lugger on the road lightwaight but powerfull and comfy.you will love our pickup hitches but make sure you have the correct trailer ring hitch on. a thin ring can jump out if htch is worn on a four weel trailer. hope you both enjoyed your trip to the England. Cheers
glad you wised up and are keeping the 8120 haha. If the new 85 blows something major and is out for a couple weeks it would be put a major hurt on you. Now you got 2 tractors to run the baler.
Hi Wes if you are going to convert your hitches on the trailers to pick up hitch eyes, Can you buy them locally?. Both my tractors here in Canada have pickup hitches. it's real hard to non existent to get the proper hitch eyes from dealers here off the shelf. Pintle hitch eyes we get here aren't quite the right size, but the big one will work in a pinch. one dealer says he can order them and ship from England like I can, but shipping is about twice or more the part cost by the time it gets here. I wanted one for a rock trailer project i'm building, I got lucky one of my Irish customers had a good used eye,he gave me from when he emigrated and shipped his stuff over. If you haven't already asked for them in England and can't get them local, it might be worth getting a few shipped in the tractor toolboxes/cabs when they ship them. They would cost you about $40 each to buy like this. You got Some nice looking tractors by the way. Looks like it was pretty cold over there compared to home. The climates way damper/colder feeling, than what we usually get here in Canada in the winter when it's -10oc or colder .
the 8530 is missing a quick hitch casting make sure they put one on they are expensive last one I bought was about £400! or you have to take the pin out every time you shove your hitch out. the 7530 will not disappoint you good tractor
nice tractors Wes hope they do you fine I'm from scotland and love a trip to sharmans for a look plenty to see at this time of year cant wsit to see them on the farm
West central Minnesota we are getting ready for a big ass blizzard tonight. snowplow is on the bronco it's backed in garage so I can plow my way out. got a big pot of chili going. 11/17/16 So there you go.
Nice Wes! We have 3 7530 on my contractoroperation in Sweden one of them is from England think you will be rell happy whid them, the europen hitch is relly nice,
Will you have to change out the three point pull arms to convert from the Euro hook to the US ball system on the ends or will a quick hitch attach to the hook system?
going to be neat seeing how them tractors turn out this side the pond are they new enough to need the def here and not have that set up what can you do to deal with that
Looks like some good buys Wes. I hate to see the 4960 go down the road, but at some point you gotta replace them. Someone will get a good tractor with that 4960. Those new ones will haul ass and look like they should really ride nice in the field.
What makes buying tractors in the UK so much cheaper than the US? Exchange rates? So, even after shipping, import duties, and travel expenses it's still cheaper? You're smart to do this, but at the same time it's sad that you have to go overseas to get good prices on equipment.
Rumor has it that there is a huge black economy of the Russian mob stealing tractors and selling them in western Europe. Maybe someone here knows if that's true. Knocks about 30% off the top they say, making it viable for shipping. Shipping prices are good now also. It could be exchange rate, but I really have no clue about either.
onelonelyfarmer I would like to hope you liked England. even if out weather is shocking and different to yours we can have our days of heat.... sometimes anyway. i dont k ow what county you was in (I think lincolnshire beacause the a1) but I really do hope you enjoyed and would be happy to come back. 😊😊
the aluminium plate is probably where water has got under the paint for some reason. probably down to the road salt in the winter... but apart from that nice tractors wes hope you're happy with them....
8:35.. don't throw it, it's the hitch lock opening mechanism, it's broken and the lock/pivot thing is missing. Like they always are in JD's... If you don't get it fully open and lift the hitch it brakes it everytime. Expecially these hydraulic ones. And the switch on the cap what you were wondering, it is for the hitch
When I first seen the picture for the Video I was thinking what did Wes get a Cat Challenger. but glad you got a little bigger tractor for the Krone Bailer.
Good choices on the tractors! The paint on our 7630 step is doing the exact same thing. Just curious if that 8530 has an IVT tranny, because once you work with one for awhile, you wont wanna go back. At least that's my experience! 👍
