@@rigby6038Tone is bad? That's why there are over 1000 youtube videos on how to get a Frusciante tone... He has one of the nicest clean tones you can have with strat... i don't get you. Sad life
This was in Melbourne, Australia ! I remember seeing this as a 14 year old. Chad was promoting his drum line and said he would be having some special guests and John and flea and Josh walked out. Incredible ! Then we walked over to the Myer music bowl and watched them play the same night
John is amazing. I'm not taking away from him, but drummers don't get enough credit to be able to create a groove to go with these solos. The drum beat is like the song's heart.
I encourage everybody to watch this full performance if you haven't. The whole thing is amazing but once this part kicks the way they transition into it always gives me goosebumps! So cool to see a band jam, it's pretty rare.
man, i loved this iteration of the band (with josh)- imagine, in some parallel universe (no pun, lol), that josh and john both stayed in the band all the way until now... would've been interesting to see what the albums could've turned out, though i know our beloved john is a control freak (and rightfully so).
since 2007 he felled in love to use wah pedal but sometimes I think it is too much....I prefer his non wah sound in guitar solo like californication with his white falcon or original version of dani california. he always turned on wah pedal in almost every solo in 2007.
@@Rodolka I'd say asking for 1 album to be made by one of the greatest bands ever is too much to ask. It is a lot of work and dedication. I'm very happy with one. I'd rather quality over quantity
Some of the very best Guitarists can be recognised by just their surname. Hendrix , Page, Clapton, Richards, Knopfler, Navarro and Frusciante. In fact RHCP are pretty darn unique in that they have Two of the greatest Guitarists of all Time in the band. Sadly Josh Klinghoffer is always going to be remembered as "only" an Amazing Guitarist because of the boots he had to fill.
@@Guitarisforgrins I saw him with the Boys at Wembley Arena in Autumn (The Fall) 1996, one hot minute tour, (I think). It was a brilliant gig in no small measure because of Dave, Jane's Addiction aren't as well appreciated in the UK, it's "Horses for Courses"...
@@Guitarisforgrins OK, in fairness, he is the 'weakest' candidate on my list. I'm not going to "throw him under the bus" for the sake of harmony. I do get you. 😁
@@Guitarisforgrins I wanted to put Paul Kossoff on the original list, because he is equally, if not better than Frusciante, I didn't because he isn't a household name.
This is what I wanna love better then any Chili Peppers show. I Don't need Anthony sorry for everyone, but these 3 or 4 guys with Josh made his instruments much more talkin the music for me like any lyrics...The world greatest jam band ever! (in my opinion) ✌ - Alex Nagy
Haha a few comments on John's basic playing. You are missing the point. How complex or simple it is shouldn't factor in to it.Does it make you feel something, does it move you etc are the important things here.John can play 1 note and you know its him.He has written timeless music with their band
