@@potterwalker4823 So because I do not worship John Lennon as you do I'm a limited thinker. How sad, boomer, how very sad that you do not see the irony in your comment.
"people are just uptight because the kids are having fun and they didn't have the same freedom because they didn't take it, they just followed the lies layed down by their parents"
A lot of commenters are ignoring the fact that this was an interview for the BBC's *Woman's Hour* programme on Radio 4. Yoko's presence, and her contributions, were welcomed. You're really showing your true colours with some of the comments here, fellas.
John almost has a contemporary Elvis haircut here. Yoko's had a pretty glamorous hair day for unknown reasons; might it have been to look her best for this interview?
One of the funniest things about John that people don’t mention often enough is how he interrupts Yoko constantly. He just barrels over everything she tries to say
Yoko was so frustrated because she couldn't interject her opinion and perspective. Especially because she knew the interviewer was there for john, and he knew it too. So he spoke up. But one can see clearly that yoko wanted to both control the narrative and control john. His only private peace from her was when the world was watching. Betcha he was in trouble after that interview was over.
Ha ha ha, you’re probably right. Even her son said she was an extremely strict mother imagine her frustration with trying to be a star like john, and nobody was interested in the slightest and how much anger and resentment she aimed at him.
It's really kind of cringe watching these old interviews where Yoko is constantly trying to interject herself into the interview when it's clear that neither the interviewer or the audience cares about her opinion. She was simply unwilling to be like other musician's wives, to show some humility, and understand and know her place in the background, being supportive.
@@chrismanteris9093 I don't know Yoko Ono, but I know she was a very bright lady from an upper class Japanese family, she was a conceptual artist of renown, which is an intellectual pursuit, so she wasn't your everyday woman. They collaborated on their artistic life together, and she opened up John's consciousness. She literally was a witch, so she understood spiritual and occult concepts. And she was a woman, and in case you haven't realised that means she was very aware and formidable. Her thoughts and words and behaviours influenced John massively.
4:28 YOKO attempted to put in her two cents like she is the star and John talked over her and I loved it. I would have been embarrassed and humiliated trying to get a word in and just kept getting shun. No, she still tried to interject when she could but, again, to only being shut down. I love it. She is an idiot.
I don't think we should commercialized sex. But he said he doesn't want to share Yoko. And him saying we want to kill our partners to death is like how domestic cats grab creatures coz they want something they've never had and can accidentally kill it.
Thought it was gonna be about John. Yoko is a POS... Cynthia found her in her home in one of her gowns. What kind of person would do that? JL lost my respect as well.
@@ExcitedAnacondaSnake-hg8ecPeople clicked on it because they wanted to watch an interview with John Lennon as stated, and not his wife. Simple. It has nothing to do with her being a woman. Can't believe a comment on YT can make someone so mad😂😂
@@no_displayname even from your arbitrary perspective you’re wrong. If that’s the reason, shouldn’t they blame the person that posted the video for mislabeling it? Why not title it John and Yoko interview? Why blame Yoko? No, it’s well documented misogyny which is still going strong these days and is evident everywhere, Beatlefandom and their ridiculous hostility and prejudices towards Yoko is a prime example.
His mother. He was needy and she exploited it for fame she never otherwise would have had; to have a wealthy benefactor from whom to sponge her hedonistic, waster’s lifestyle; and bankroll her thoroughly self-indulgent, talentless art projects.
Captain obvious yoko ono. I wish they had never met… maybe he would still be alive and perhaps they’d still be going… like the stones only with something to say
@adamhughes4442 it's an extremely stupid thing to say. People need to just stop trying to get on the hating Yoko train. How can you hate someone you dont even know? And all because he left a band? Its just a band at the end of the day. He wasnt happy anymore. If you loved John..then you need to be on board with Yoko too because he loved her and she made him happy. Isn't that what should matter most? Big deal that the Beatles broke up. Bands break up all the time and the members go on to make music on their own. I've always loved John Lennons music as a solo artist. People need to stop with the hatred.
Yoko is AMAZING..and INSPIRING! ...............................................................................................................................yeahsure.
I read many comments here from mostly American people. Please politely You don't really understand the British mentality. It's nothing like yours. Yoko Ono had lived so long in USA that she interrupts constantly. A trait of American people. Your chat show hosts are the same. Bloody Hell it's not about you. John was clearly frustrated. Wasn't it his interview? The sad thing is, John loved USA and there's nothing wrong with that. That's why he moved there a short time after this. I also love USA and its people. However I recognise its shortcomings. I sincerely believe, no bloody crank would have shot him, if he'd stayed in the quiet peaceful county of Surrey. Why? We can't buy guns. Police don't carry them in everyday life. Yes for terrorist problems but nothing else. Salutations, from Kensington and Chelsea; in London. 🇬🇧 🤝 🇺🇸
@@tinagriggs1004 He loved the concept of the love he thought he had with her. She was a terrible heroin addict and he struggled with heroin addiction because of her. He also suffered a lot of emotional torture because of her, which is quite apparent in his later songs. It is possible that Yoko put out a hit on John. Yoko isn't working class, she comes from rich parents. A lot of them rich people don't have the compassion and empathy that a lot of the working class people have
John found his soul mate in Yoko. Cynthia was a perfectly nice girl when John met her, though he drew her onto a dark road into pregnancy and he *had* to marry her, but he was scared. He didn't want to marry her, or anyone...he wanted to be a rock & roll singer. His words.
@@karaamundson3964Cynthia bleached her hair and modelled her look to Brigitte Bardot to catch John's attention. Her words in A Twist Of Lennon. John found Yoko in the Indica Gallery where her creative brand of avante garde blended with affirmative eastern philosophy....captured his imagination and she inspired him. Like Cynthia never could. It just figured
Lennon knows fuck all what he's on about. 'Working Class Hero' - he was the only middle class one. 'Imagine' - written on a 72 acre Georgian house. No problem with those songs, but don't lecture people. He's only a fuckin art student who got lucky.
Lennon came from a broken home parents abandoned him after both Fred & Julia couldn’t agree on who should have him where he should live - Fred went back to sea Julia met another man had two daughters as well as a third who was adopted- he was left with his Aunt Mimi- He lived near an orphanage at Strawberry Fields Al Always that’s where he could have been- he didn’t know where his Father was and at school was mocked for being a bastard- no father! - He reconnected with his mother at 15 -who did live in a council house- He needed to live in a wealthy isolated environment because he would he have been harassed - in the end he was murdered
correction; hey Yoko, shut the fuck up! you are not talented, simply because you married one of the most talented people in history. That’s like saying “I walked by the airport so now I’m a pilot.”
