@Javier Vazquez What is gravity if not the + - electromagnetic/gravitational forces of opposition and attraction in keeping with Newtons laws. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Now you have to imagine this because you can't see or even feel the EM forces of our Galaxies Double Torus magnetosphere that powers and holds all the Sun's, Planets, moons in position between the two energies of the double torus magnetosphere. Einstein did say "Your better of with a food imagination than a "good education" because an education like John Anthony West R.I.P said turns you into a quackademic. Regurgitation is not Realization it is parroting. CO2 + H2O captures the electromagnetic energy from the Galaxy/Sun's/Earth's magnetosphere which creates life = Fossil Fools. "Nothing new under the Sun." Solomon. As in the Earth is a 4.5 Billion yer old Closed CO2 Loop that self regulates CO2 with life by combining CO2 with H2O Hydro/Carbons, H2O/CO2. Green house effect and Forcing are not scientific principles they are more like putting the cart before the horse Science Fiction. Especially when you consider that Temp Sun's EM energy is rising first & Co2 follows as the frozen CO2 in eh Arctic thaws. Cause & Effect. Jesus the Son of YahWeh delivered the New Covenant so that Jew & Gentile alike might have life & life more abundantly. Jesus warned us about these the climate change END TIMES with the book of REVELATION & the cause with the 7 north stars of the PRECESSION of the Alpha/Omega Vernal/Autumnal equinoxes he held in his hand. Every 12,000 years half the Great Year our solar system eclipses the centre of our galaxies double torus magnetosphere's nucleus for a 1,000 years causing the climate change END TIMES with EMP pillars of fire/Lightning & Brimstone/Sulfur storms, Oort cloud comets, 100 LB Talent sized hail, increased frequency & intensity of Tornadoes, hurricanes, earth quakes, volcanoes etc. And those are just the birthing pains. Mother Earth's WATER won't break until the major conjunction of the planets causes the moon to pull the earth's tides/oceans/magnetosphere out and around the planet east to west 800 mph at the equator every 40 years as evidenced with the striations that buried Gobekli Karahan tepe's 12,000 years the last ti me we eclipsed the galactic plane. Jesus even told us how to survive these the cliamte change END TIMES "All shall seek shelter under rocks or in caves." Ezekiel Musk Boring Company Ezekiel Musk VTVL rocket Arks. "Meek hunter gatherer & homesteaders shall inherit the earth." All swords shall be pounded into plough shares. Build Trumps wall but bigger and further north more like the Carnac stones to divert Noah's east to west tidal waves to come. What came first the continental glaciers with lower sea levels or Noah's cataclysmic tidal waves that get pulled around the planet east to west by the moon every unlucky 12th millennium for a millennium when we eclipse the Milky Way? Jesus warned us!

@@mick1gallagher I would bet you he uses whatever money he makes to help those in need, and doesn't hoard it to himself. Sincere Christians, whether they have much money or not, tend to actually do that and live on very little. Why don't you go pick on some televangelist who preaches a prosperity gospel and brags about their wealth on national television? John Lennox is not cut from the same cloth. If you want to criticize the man, why don't you refute what he's saying instead?

@JCW7100 6 лет назад
Hi Dd s, I was just wondering, what "questionable" inferences and arguments are you referring to?
@JCW7100
@JCW7100 6 лет назад
I'm not really familiar with those arguments, have you been listening to creationists? The usual ones I hear from Theists are the Leibnizian, Cosmological, Moral, Ontological, and Teleological arguments for God's existence. I also hear the argument from the Applicability of Mathematics, the Argument from Consciousness, the Argument from Reason, and the Argument from Evil. There are also some hints of Aesthetic arguments I've heard some about, but I'm not real familiar with those either. I think they are very interesting, I'm curious, how many books have you read discussing these arguments in depth? I think you'd find them very interesting, it is an interesting topic after all, no matter what your position is on the existence of God. :)
@JCW7100
@JCW7100 6 лет назад
Dd s Wow, a few decades! I must say friend I am very impressed by your prodigious amounts of reading! I'm curious to know which argument for Theism you find compelling, every atheist (forgive me if you're not an atheist, but you strike me as one) I've encountered has one argument that they think makes Theism persuasive and even powerfully so, I'm just wondering if there's one that makes you think "yeah that's a pretty good argument for God's existence." Cheers mate!
@JCW7100
@JCW7100 6 лет назад
Dd s I respect your position, I think it's very honest (and honesty can be hard to come by in these discussions sometimes lol). And you're right, we can't know all things about all reality, and that's why the theist would subscribe to divine revelation (because if God (and God, by definition is "the greatest conceivable being") exists then he knows all and can share some of his knowledge with us. Stay hopeful friend, hopeful Agnostics are some of the most awesome people no doubt!
@JCW7100
@JCW7100 6 лет назад
I think you make very important points, and that's why I don't think divine revelation should be used as evidence for God's existence. I think you need to already believe in a sort of "generic God" before you look at the various world religions (which as you correctly said do indeed contradict each other). And in order to come to a belief in a sort of "generic God" I think you would have to examine the various arguments for God's existence. Now unfortunately, you said that you don't think there are any compelling arguments for God's existence. The good news is that your "not thinking there are any compelling arguments for God's existence" is just a psychological state of affairs, which means the arguments could very possibly be valid and true, regardless of whether or not you think they are compelling.

I am just a lay person,this is my first time hearing Dr Lennox and watching SITC podcast. After listening to part 1 I had to listen to part 2. I am a firm believer in the Lord God the creator of all. I believe that mathematics is one of the top languages of God. Given to mankind to help understand God and his creations. I have a teacher many years ago who had a picture on her desk and in that picture it was of the universe with the dark background and the stars all around and each star was a single or a mark for mathematics and at the bottom of the picture there was a line that said,"the language of GOD!". I believe that GOD has given sciences(all forms) as a means of revealing his Majesty. I'm glad to listen and discover how very intelligent people look at God and atheism are not compatible. That listening to Dr Lenox has given me some insight into an argument that a person could have with an atheist about the creation and who created it.

John Lennox isn't intellectually superior to those he debates as he is not a biologist he is not a paleontologist he is not a anthropologist he is not a astrophysicist or cosmologist These are facts that he has admitted himself! so how he can be seen to know more about these subjects than those who specialise in their fields is ridiculous! No offence but in years to come the work of Dawkins Krauss and Hawking will be remembered and studied for helping our human understanding whereas Lennox will just be remembered as a Christian apologist who contributed nothing to science!

My message to Lennox is that there is information (an organized sequence of material/energy) and there is understanding, which is spiritual, beyond matter and energy. Understanding is what Lennox is talking about but he does not separate it from information. In-formation can only exist if there is an entity, a soul, an intelligence that understands the information.

John Lennox mentioned the fact that it seems as if any attempt currently to explain away the concept of God descends into foolishness. That is precisely what the Scriptures said would happen, "claiming to be wise, they became fools" (Romans 1:22). Many of the postmodernist arguments about the nature and understanding of truth, deconstructionism, etc when appropriately listened to are exactly that, foolishness.

SITC: A show about "nothing". Thanks for this great material that the world needs to hear. Some men of great intelligence run from God, even past insurmountable evidence. I theorize it a desire for control: if you place mankind at a pinnacle, redefine/negate morality and encase the universe in a physical-only realm, then you remove concerns there is a creator out there whom your soul is subject. We yet duplicate a version of the material world using computers: an application akin to the physical universe (which interestingly does not take up any literal space), and an OS and program language akin to the fact math, science and the 4 forces are as they are. Both require a programmer to write code; ours is through keyboards, God's is through His word commanding the very physical nothingness in order to "code" this most artistically designed existence.

It is also why we don't have to dance to the material music of our genes....we can defy the material with the moral. My question is: Could sufficiently complex artificial intelligence in man made machines ever become conscious? Especially in the most advanced AI, programmed to learn? Could AI prove the plausibility, at least, of the reductionist claim that our minds could be no more than the physical/biochemical properties of our brains?

I do not believe so. It would prove that a programmer is needed to code in consciousness.

Hindu temples allow to understand the difference and richness of temple worship methods adapted for vishnu and shivan temples which clarify most of the understanding worship i just relate to science for the understanding other than nothing to say

Creation is the answer meaning ie creation is omnipresent creation always was always will be.. there is nothing outside of creation and creation is in all things.. creation is eternal.. creation needs no creator

The differential equation for a mechanical spring- mass-damper system is the same as the one for a electrical RLC circuit. Uncanny, strange? Why does math describe the natural world so well? Fibonacci Series? Seems very transcendent!

I am curious about the billions of years between creation and now, which they seem to believe.

I love this. But there is a question. 'Who created God' is a stupid question, I agree. But my question is: why does God exist? Why IS God? Does God even know why He is there, why he has always been there? We are here for His glory. But why was He around before the beginning of all times? He might as well just not exist... right?

You still assume that GOD is limited beings, that's not what GOD of the Bible Im not even going to write every scripture here, but HE is the alpha and the omega. If we can fit GOD into our 2kg brains then HE is not GOD.
