I’ve heard remarks on Sid’s intelligence multiple times now, with people going on about how he wasn’t bright. My response, drawn from my own personal experience is, he was 21 year old kid, who was very insecure. I have no idea what his score was on the IQ chart, however, insecurities coupled with young age, doesn’t allow you to show who you really are to the world. I used to be the butt of the joke to most of my friends, because of my insecurities I played a goofball character, and used to micromanage everything I said. Then, as I learned not to let my past dictate my future, and developed a belief in myself, I felt like my intelligence blossomed overnight. But, self-doubt, reinforced by the people who are supposed to be in your corner, over and over again, can make you feel stupid. RIP Sid
That's quite a detailed rhetoric that doesn't make any sense. Your past dictates your present and your future. What else could ? Present only lasts for a second and everything you do of that specific second is directly related to the previous second and directly impacts the next one. When you're halfway through a book, is the beginning of the story not relevant anymore just because it's of the past ? You ought to decide what you make of it ; if your past actions have a negative impact on your present, call it a mistake, if it gives you a positive impact, call it experience. After all, your present and your future are simply your next past, aren't they ?
I absolutely adore this man! Beautiful on the inside as well as the outside. Johnny is the most fascinating, intelligent, articulate, talented, authentic, highly entertaining, hilariously funny and absolutely gorgeously handsome rock star on the planet! I could watch and listen to him all day, he has me transfixed LOL! The way he talked about Sid was lovely. Love Johnny, the most amazing human being. ❤❤❤❤❤💋💋
I'm 21 years old but I've listened to the Sex Pistols and loved Sid Vicious ever since the 4th grade. I want to know if anyone here has ever gotten to meet Sid when he was alive? If so tell me your stories.
I don't suppose Patti Smith's brother Todd(?), who Sid glassed in the face, would be overly fond of Vicious, nor the unfortunate girl whose sight was permanently damaged by a splinter from a smashed glass, supposedly thrown by Sid. I think it pathetic that people consider Sid Vicious someone worthy of idol worship rather than extreme pity. Do you not know how insecure and unhappy the poor bastard was?
Nick Kent wrote a few years ago about how he and Sid later became friends, of a kind. I think they briefly shared a flat! They did share a habit, which drew them together.
I come from the no bullshit attitude like John Lydon, I love his scrutiny he doesn't take crap more ppl should be critical or you get screwed around left and right in this evil world, be somebody that won't get pushed around be solid and fight it back. come all as one and take over the planet from wicked oligarchs destroying our society. freedom
Theistic Satanism yeah but there are different forms of Satanism some like Theistic Satanism believe in a physical deity but others don't. I like the fact Satanism is against the so called light which it really isnt, it is the darkness...
Lydon's the fucking best I don't care what anyone thinks about him, he'd have the "Establishment" shitting their own pants because he's so unpredictable and incredibly capable, his improvisational skills are off the chain, his humour is quick-witted and sardonic, but also with cheeky elements of light-heartedness, such as his Bible joke at the end and look at the pleasure he gave that man and in turn everyone else.
When u interview john lydon u can't be sensitive man u know he will come at u like bulldozer man special when it come with dum question much love for john lydon man
It’s strange how he seems to be almost universally liked to some degree. Reminds me a little of Charles Barkley who just says what comes to mind and sometimes it’s insulting, but you know there is no malice behind it and he’s partially doing it to be entertaining.
Lydon I admire as my philosophy teacher, God I would love to get a in person lecture from him in real. No doubt a one in a kind with one of the brightest soul's out there, you can learn so much from his words and character.
+Daniela Schwarz lol nice to children --- maybe for 5 minutes, after that he would be annoyed with them and ignore them or bully them . he definitely psychopath .
Daniela Schwarz Get a life ffs.I see you in every pistols video and always same shit. You're always praising them.Sid was cool but he wasn't brilliant at all.He wasn't pretty also.I bet he wouldn't give a shit about being brilliant and pretty. He described himself as a low intelligent people. You fanshits are just ridiculous. They were pretty, they were amazing bla bla. They were just punk and that's it.
I like how he says "Sign o the times" and there's "TIMES" written on the wall then the camera pans to the interviewer looking like 60s retro with that exact curly hair lol
Nowadays, Mr. Lydon speaks quite candid of Sid. When I was in high school (class of '83) I saw an interview in which he walked off throwing the Mic down when asked about Sid.
Yeah most of his older interviews he was stand-offish, angry and arrogant (a total asshole quite frankly), because he didn't like doing them. It's great to see a lighter human side and a sense of humour.
I love Paul cook too, the drummer. He seems a really down to earth guy unaffected by his fame/celebrity at the time, Steve, John and especially Sid all went on a massive ego trip, it's a shame too as the sex pistols were magnificent in their hey day, my top 3 bands of all time.
@@pk6810 Jonesy is a super laid back dude. How did fame get into his head? He started a band, made one album that blew up. Sid died and they moved on to other ventures. I mean if we are going to be honest anyone in the music industry probably has an ego. But it's what you use your ego for is what counts.
“It’s like Satanists... they’d be fuck all without God.” Very true. The moment I first saw Marilyn Manson I knew what kind of background he’d had immediately. Cos if you hadn’t had that strict Christian upbringing why would you think Satanist had anything to offer, was ‘edgy’ or a worthy avenue of rebellion... it’s entirely reactionary. Act, rather than react.
"Hi John, my question is: out of the three main classes, you know: upper, middle and working, which one do you consider yourself to have come from? It's just that I've never heard you declare which one, really."
Mikael Lewis -it’s how he contracted meningitis, their first flat on Benwell Rd in Highbury had no running water, and became ill. He then moved to a council flat in Finsbury Park, not exactly “upper” class, although, Highbury and Finsbury Park looked a lot different in 1974 than it does now, but he was very poor as a child.
Mithrian of Mirkwood -at this point I’m so influenced by John and his prose that I’m not sure if I love him or hate him. he did turn into Bill Grundy for a second let’s call a spade a spade but he still Johnny
+Luudh uruk Essentially it's, " Sid (fuck) was (fuck) a (fuck) really (fuck) great(fuck) guy (fuck), until (fuck) the (fuck) smack (fuck) took (fuck) over (fuck) his (fuck) life (shit)".
