John MacArthur: The Nonnegotiable Gospel 

He teaches a false gospel. The true gospel is the good news of the Person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ. In other words, it is concerning who Christ is and what He did to save His elect only. The gospel includes the how and why, which can only be seen by faith. It is a message that declares how the eternal Son of God came down, took on a body of sinless flesh (John 1:14) as He was born of a virgin (Mat 1:23). He was both God and man in one Person. He was born under the Law to keep and fulfill it (Mat 5:18, Gal 4:4). He did that, not for Himself, but for all those He represented because they could not keep it themselves. The word of God calls these people the elect or His sheep, among several other names. His obedient life also included the part of dying. He took on the sin of His people as both a Substitute and Representative of those people. The Bible said He was "made to be sin" (II Cor 5:21) and the way that was done is by God imputing (legally reckoned or charged to the account of) sin to Christ. That means all the sin of all those people God chose was "laid on Him" (Isaiah 53:6). This sin was legally transferred to His account and He then owned it in such a way to be guilty of it all. God the Father poured out His wrath and hatred toward sin on His Son and had pleasure (Isaiah 53:10) in doing so, in that, He was completely satisfied in Christ as a Sacrifice that met all the demands of His strict Law and inflexible justice. Christ finished the work of paying the penalty of the Law and then said " It is finished" (John 19:30). He secured salvation for all God’s chosen people that would even be born. His resurrection is evidence of the acceptance of His sacrifice to the Father. The combined work of His obedience to the Law and His obedience unto death on the cross was considered establishing righteousness. This is what one of the Old Testament prophets prophesied as "bringing in an everlasting righteousness" (Daniel 9:24) as Christ died effectually and exclusively for those chosen of God before the world began (Eph 1:4). This righteousness is what God imputes to His people in the context of giving the life to believe in Christ. This puts them in a state called "Justification" and as a result they are eternally secure, in Christ. This is the gospel (Rom 1:16-17). All this takes place in such a way to show God as both a God of justice and a Savior. This is how grace reigns through righteousness (Rom 5:21)

Evans' heresies include (but are not limited to) Pelagianism (the denial of original sin), Inclusivism (you don't have to be a Christian to be saved), and Limited Theism (the denial of God's omnipotence). Why are you lacking discernment?

Pray for discernment and to be led to the right pastors and dig a Little deeper as I did and you'll see the truth about him. Stick with JM and also check out DTBM if you haven't done so already. I love JM and his books but my authority is the Bible and I can tell you that JM always profess the authority of the Bible. I always tell belivers to spend their time reading the word of God and meditate on it day and night.

You are correct, but don't ever forget that God gave some to be pastors and teachers. We need these men of God to lead us, to make sure we are well read in the scripture. To help keep us from accepting error. It's a balance. And likewise we need to test everything they teach, like the Berean's in the book of Acts. We need both. I've listened to JM for over 25 years now and have yet to see a need to raise a red flag. But I still examine his teachings and thank God for him.

I know how deeply you feel and think because I have also been taught by John MacArthur for the 42nd year straight now 5 weeks after I became a Christian the Lord led me to him on the radio and have listened five days a week in red at least 75 of his book study books probably closer to 100 books he is a blessing too Christian's which is just like the Lord isn't it he already gave us his very best won't he give us all that which is less than the best as well of course he will we are the most blessed people on earth and while everyone is talking about their group identity we need to remember that we believers have an Infinity eternal identity as Christians amen

You can't just sit around and wait for Heaven. God has a will that He wants you to live out on earth, that's why we pray in the Father’s prayer "Your kingdom come Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven". You need to ask God to reveal His will to you. He has a specific purpose for your life, He wills to use your life for His glory. But you have not because you ask not.

I agree that giving pastors alot of praise comes dangerously close to the warning in 1 Corinth 12, but the purpose of my comment is to share a faithful preacher of the Gospel- his sermons are online and they are very good. sadly there aren't that many biblibal preachers out there 😢 . personally I am not an idoloter of lloydjones I just prefer his style of preaching.

A lot of preachers seem to only preach what people want to hear, and not what the Bible says. Take the TV-evangelists or Joel Osteen as an extreme example of 'non-biblical'. I use biblical as the opposite of that. Lloyd Jones has been dead for 50 years, so I don't think my praise will harm him :). Concerning McArther though, He doesn't seem like a particularity prideful person(?).

@Gulfield Jones The key to understanding any Biblical passage is to make sure that you are keeping it IN CONTEXT. Jesus came to save the lost sheep of Israel. He was born under the Law and everything He did was to fulfill the Law and usher in His Eternal Kingdom, BEYOND the Law - a Kingdom of grace. He was sifting the wheat from the chaff. Those who received Him were the first Christians, firstfruits of the Kingdom. Those who did not received Him were destroyed in the siege of Jerusalem in AD70. (One path led to life, the other to destruction - quite literally...) The "Old Testament" is "types and shadows" of the New... Read Joshua 1, just the very first few verses... God tells Joshua, my servant Moses is DEAD, NOW go to the Land I promised you. EVERYWHERE the sole of your foot treads, I have given to you. This is TRUE TODAY... the Kingdom of God has no boundaries or borders - it exists wherever Christians are. Wherever we place our feet, we stand on the ground of the Kingdom of Heaven. (On earth as it is in heaven...) The covenant of Moses (Torah) was fulfilled and came to an end in AD70... the Temple was destroyed. Torah was over. In other words, Moses was dead. When God tells Joshua "Moses, my servant, is dead, 'rise up'"... it is the same word used for the Resurrection... this is because the "Resurrection" occurred in AD70... Moses (the Law) was DEAD; the Christians "rose up" and claimed their inheritance...

MacArthur's perverted gospel requires a person to make a continual effort to live above sin as part of salvation. If you claim to trust in Christ, but don't live holy and surrender your life to Christ, then MacArthur says you're not saved. That is a hellish false gospel that Ray Comfort, Kirk Cameron and Paul Washer all ascribe to.

Lorship Salvationists have cultic mindsets in the fact that they"are the only true Christians and they are the only ones who preach the truth". LS think that if someone sins too much then their not truly saved. Is this not thinking they are like God and able to know uf someone is saved or not? They say there is no such thing as a carnal Christian which is unbiblical and proven false by all the apostles behavior and according to 1 Corinthians as well. I guess LS teachers shoukd rewrite the Bible and take 1 John 1:9 out of it-- if we confess our sins the He forgives us hence were going to sin after being saved. And yes John is addressing believers here and they were already saved. To say that a Christian cannot be carnal us like saying that Jesus' sacrifice on the cross only covers sin up to a certain point instead of all sin. Its Pharisee-ical hypocrisy! ! "Peter is saying categorically that the essence of what it means to be a Christian is to love Jesus Christ. In fact, there may be no better way to describe the essential expression of the new nature than to say it is continual love for Christ" (pg. 185). John MacArthur clearly teaches that every believer is NOT assured a home in Heaven. According to MacArthur, one's salvation is DEPENDENT upon the life he or she lives. This is the damnable heresy of Lordship Salvation!
