I saw him two years ago . John was 88 he said onstage . I have to much love and respect to say anything negative about him. I’ll finish with saying that two weeks after the show he retired in CA .
John Mayall is such a blues legend. Remarkable that he still sounded this good at 85 years old. Oh, and Carolyn played the hell out of that Gibson BluesHawk!!
Gracias !
Play it John, The Godfather of the British Blues, I am glad that you are still here, i hope you live another 86 years, The Blues would be lost without you, Cousin Figel
89 years today and watching this performance from back in 2019 is mind blowing. Such a legacy and influence to blues music. The significant contribution John has made to blues is monumental....may he celebrate more years on the stage.
Grew up with John Mayall from when I was kid learning guitar and the blues ... thankyou ... have seen him several times live ... watching him now is like watching my grandfather play
I saw mr.mayall in barcelona back in 1975, he has always played fine music. I have almost all his lps, because the right way to listen to those great musicians is on vynil. The best music was that of late 60´s and early 70´s though he is still at it. Thank you John.
Eric Clapton should of sent John Mayall several Million dollars for making him the " God " he became. Seriously. I wouldn't of became a professional musician if not for John. All love and respect to the Great John Mayall!
Thank you Leifur for posting this. John Mayall's Bluesbreakers with Eric and later Peter got me hooked to the blues. This was an amazing performance from a 85 year old legend.
'Bare WIres' and 'Blues From Laurel Canyon'. Awesome early concept albums with the greatest British Blues, and then came Peter Green, on 'Hard Road'. And all the talent from the Bluesbreakers, John carrying on amazingly well, having sang and played and launched so many careers.
I saw John Mayall in Brisbane Festival Hall a long tme ago.It must have been the the late sixties and I was still at high school. I remember a ticket to get in was 2 dollars 50 cents.
He is still amazing... has forgotten nothing and the band sounds great. Hard to list the great musicians who played in his Bluesbreakers. Eric Clapton, Peter Green, Mick Taylor, Coco Montoya & Walter Trout, Buddy Whittington, and now the lady in red. I hope I can see them on stage in my home town once again!
Been listening to John's music for 54 years. Still so fresh, so wonderful. What a giant. And all of his gigantic band mates over the years. Saw this lineup in Portland, OR. Great music. Didn't think I'd see greater live bands than the Bluesbreakers with Mick Taylor, or the Jon Mark-- Johnny Almond--Steven Thompson band. But these guys are stout stalwarts of Blues. Thanks for posting
Outstanding music clip, a pleasure to look and listen! Great camera, great quality and it seems that you know where the music plays! - I had the opportunity to see John Mayall at February 2019 in the Columbia Hall in Berlin for weeks earlier. One of my best concerts in life and this with a man who was 85 years old. Outstanding! Greetings from Berlin!
John Mayall still on stage and still having fun keeping young ... and... Carolyn got some Tedeschi intensity goin down here ! [and to actually see nice Bass solo go to 16:10 ] Great upload Leifur.
Saw this band a year or so ago in a club here in San Juan Capistrano, CA., and they were an amazing show. We and the audience were blown away by the musicianship, the showmanship, and the song selection that we had the opportunity to experience. It was a truly wonderful music happening!
@@paulreavley5900 I've seen Carolyn twice. Quite good on vocals and guitar. I'm going to see John Mayall this coming Friday,08/20/21 in Madison,Indiana. don't know if Carolyn is still in his band or not.
@@bluesrocker79 I lived in Austin a long time and would have had plenty of opportunity to see her there, but I did not start to appreciate her until after I had moved away. I hope working with Mr. Mayall has won her some new fans. Have a good time on Friday!
I saw this week that he’s doing his final show in LA next month , one of the first albums I bought was the beano album , I was fourteen and John was already nearly thirty , good luck to him and thank you mr mayall
John Mayall is one of if not the most innovative blues artists ever.Hi voice is unique and his records (especially in the 1960's) were groundbreaking. Everyone knows the Beano album was groundbreaking mainly because of Eric's guitar tone and phrasing but his albums with Mick Taylor....particulary "Bare Wires" and "Blues from Laurel Canyon" really do take the blues to places it never went. Respect to John Mayall,to me you're the greatest.
I have seen John and his bands play many times and each one was a fantastic, highly memorable experience. An the performance in this video is too. I also love his sense of humor!
Gracias. Todavía, sigo tu música. Sigo envejeciendo y volviéndome más sabio gracias a ti
I learned how to play harp in 1971 in Lauderdale by the Sea, Florida. There was a great little music store on Commercial and Bougainvilla Drive where I picked up a harp music book, by the great John Mayall!! You're a real rock star John!
We lived a old farm house three or four old hippies each morning I would put on the John record and Play it all the day long. It had a plane t as king off two hits of good acid then wake up an play it another day..lone wolf from Virginia.
I can say that's a first for me,I've been a blues fan most of my life and never seen anybody play keyboard and harmonica at the same time. But I have seen johnny winters bass player blowing harp at the same time hes whipping the bass to death
