This is the first podcast of yours I have ever heard and just a few months ago I had no idea John Mayer exists (I'm from Europe) but this is so awesome I have no words to explain. I Was at their night 2 show at the Forum last month and I literally got weepy, but in the best way !!!😊 Made me fall in Love With The Grateful Dead all over again!♡ or even more if thats even possible. Jerry's vibe was there, no doubt. I'm close to the same age as John, and it's very cool to see folks that have made it big be able to still keep it real...and also, be a little vulnerble by actually being who he is. Dean I love how honest and transparent you are in this interview. I never heard an interviewer admit that they didn't like an artist...and then have a turnaround about them later. I used to hate Bruce Springsteen too. And I think because in the 80's MTV wore his music out. I think when TV and radio overkills artists to the extent that you don't appreciate them. (They did that to Amy Winehouse. Didn't know how amazing she was until AFTER she passed. "Rehab" is a gross misrepresentation of her artistry and genius). Now I love Bruce Springsteen. He is a masterful poet. His lyrics, his writings is absolutely mindblowing. I think we have a greater appreciation of things when we are older and more mature. Also I think Born and Raised is John's best album too! Everyone insist its Continuum. But Born and Raised is so underrated. To me any record you can play all the way through without skipping any track is a favorite album. I too play it all day on repeat all the way through! This is one of the BEST interviews I've ever heard of all time. Fantastic job Sir!!!🏆

oh god...this is killing me. I have back ups of two fairly rare guitars (low production models Japanese guitars aka lawsuit guitars from the late 70's /early 80's) and so much you guys said reflected my personality...it was really funny.

18:15 - John accomplished this with Slow Dancing -- Btw, also heavy on the linn DX7 thing. Difficult to make it work as a guitar player!
