With a number of injuries down the middle for the Blue Jackets, Columbus coach John Tortorella voiced his frustration with a classic tirade, and criticized his team for their recent struggles.
this man has shaped me into the youth coach i am and the player i have been. this man is a god of mine lol im going to make a poster of him to put it above my bed so he can watch over me as i sleep lol
@@cmoulder3157 My dad was my coach growing up and he was just like Torts. He really toughened me up and made me a decent player. Learned a lot from Torts too about using your passion and anger to win the game.
He has a different way of coaching, and it did not work well with Vancouver for sure. And we don't like him, but still MAD respect over what Calgary did for us and what he tried to do
Torts RIPPED his team?!? Bullshit. That was tame/lame. 'Brooksie' should just follow him game after game, town to town. Then we'd see the old melt downs. I miss those Ranger days ...
I love Tort's...He makes the NHL famous and great... we need coach's like that... not people who are afraid to talk because they might hurt someone's feelings... Tort's says it like it is. NO BS!!!
And we had a terrific strong, America first President and half of the fucking country hates him because he is such a strong leader...and the USA is back to horseshit gutless leadership! Shameful! This kind of personality, work ethic no longer has a place in modern society ( i didn't say that and don't agree with that statement but half the country and the moron liberal democrats sure do! and they will stop at nothing to make sure it isn't that way!)
@@Gotem905 No major conflicts, got our troops out of unnecessary BS, good economy, good border policy.....But yeah he was "an idiot" take a seat clown, look where we are now, surging inflation and terrible leadership.
Offended? Why would anyone be offended, unless it was one of his veteran players giving it his all only to have Torts in his face saying he is going to kick his ass because he isn't trying hard enough. That kind of stuff can be effective on young players (just like drill instructors can motivate young recruits in boot camp), but older veterans become resentful and it becomes counterproductive. That type of leadership style went out with the dinosaur.
I think Torts is misunderstood by a lot of people. He's a hell of a coach, but most people know him by his press conferences and not what he does as a coach. His passion and intensity are what make him a great coach, and at times he's let it go a little too far - but his heart was always in the right place. He's gotten better over the years, but he's just not good at sugar coating, or saying what they want to hear. He's just straightforward, no BS, and blunt. It's respectable honestly, but it rubs some people the wrong way. Not saying he's perfect, but I think he's one of the better coaches in the league. I'm not even a huge CBJ fan, but I'm glad he's been able to help turn the franchise around.
Hey Torts.....Personally I think your the most honest, straight forward coach in the NHL. Im also a Canadian boy and a Leafs fan. You will go down in history as one on the best coaches in all of sports. Ps....I dont know if you remember Greg Walters. Coach of Oshawa Generals today. Met the man plenty of times and word for word you were his most influential coach ever. Also im from Georgetown Ontario Canada. Just wanted to let you know brother. Drop me a line.
I am a blue jackets fan and I was at the game and they all just played terrible the defense just let Eichel and sheary just sit in front of the net and most of the goals weren’t bobs fault it was a total lapse in the defense
Is that Sean Astin in the corner? (I typed in 'indie film start pack' to find his name, as opposed to "stranger things"+"lord of the rings" [which rhymes] like any other sane person would do)
Man I just said that to my dad Wednesday. If Berube ever leaves bring John Tortorella to STL!!! # GO CARDINALS AND HOPEFULLY BLUES GO DEEP IN 21/22 SEASON
Couldnt stand him when he coached for the Rangers because im an Islanders fan and i was jealous..He is exactly the kind of coach that i would want for my team ( of course if we didnt have Trotz already )..I would run through a wall for this guy...
