John was a"triple threat" back in the day. An actor, singer, dancer. That being when he was just starting out he was available to do any of the 3 while trying to make it in the business.
@@SVDBYJC THey lampshaded it by having Danny singing along to Those Magic Changes during rhe high school prom/National Bandstand OB and going offkey...
Its sad her breast cancer has come back its stage 4. My sister died from breast cancer when its stage 4 there is no hope left. I will cry when this great woman passes!
That movie still an iconic hit, even with today’s kids, some 40 years after its release. Completely timeless and fun movie. If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend it.
@Dexter Morgan I'm implying that she's arousing me in a complete and absolute sexual way with no feelings involved by any means, just rough and dirty sex... do you find my explanation detailed enough?
Yes. John Travolta was a fabulous singer and dancer back in the 70's. He was a huge star. He sings lead on numerous songs in Grease. Grease has an amazing soundtrack and the movie is one of the best movie musicals of all time. It is probably in my top ten movies of all time.
Yes, you're right. Him following her and her 'encouraging' him to follow. Like two love birds. It was a classic courtship dance. And with two beautiful people like them, its hard not to watch and smile!
@Joseph Scally I was 9 when this movie came out. I give major props to my dad who gave in to my repeated requests for him to take me to see the movie! He was sitting there in the theatre listening to me and the other 500 girls sing song after song...lol! Thanks Dad!
Yes that was definately John Travolta & the beautiful Olivia Newton-John. Sadly she had cancer but will hopefully pull through. I just love her (& John!!) xx
It my all time favorite ever. Every time it on TV I watch it .When kids was l little it they that it was on TV they would run and day mommy Grease is on 🤣🤣🤣🙂
I love your reaction so raw and genuine. Time is not always kind. Beautiful Olivia Newton John is battling cancer again and my thoughts are with her. This vid was soo upbeat though.
One of THE best musical performances in film history...! Great song married to a great performance all caught on film for us to enjoy 40 years later...!
I seriously hope that after you reacted to this you went and watched the full movie. So many more classic songs and just one of the best musicals of all time!!! A legendary iconic classic, for sure!!
Hi from Bonnie Scotland, that was the best reaction i have ever seen in joy,as you were dancing on the chair,yo were just a big beautiful smile,10 out of 10,the number 1 reaction on Utube.
I am glad to see that she appreciates what music is supposed to be. It is a shame that most of today's music does not stack up to previous decades. You would think a new generation would want to be bonded through meaningful and timeless music. I am not sure what lead to the downfall. Where are all the real talented song writers and musical artists? Every now and then I like something new I hear but it is very rare. I usually have a thousand songs I listen to from the 60's, 70's, 80's and even 90's. I will say that India seems to be a well rounded person and maybe even a "old soul" in a young girl's body. I think she is the best on youtube with her reactions because they are so genuine and entertaining. She is a natural at this.
Brings back great memories! I was 18 and saw Grease with friends on a trip after graduating high school. Keep checking out the 70's music! Thanks for this diversion India it was much needed and appreciated!
When my kids were younger this movie stayed in the VCR for several years. Still see my oldest daughter singing and dancing to this song every time it played.
It was really John and Olivia singing that and each song they sang in the movie. All the songs were sung by the people in the movie - Stockard Channing was the one who sang on "There Are Worse Things I Could Do," and, all the girls sang on "Look At Me, I'm Sandra Dee." Now, *THIS* movie is my *ALL-TIME* FAVORITE movie!!! Have watched it *SOOOOOOO MANY TIMES* that while watching it (only,) I can "mouth" or "repeat" *EVERY" word and every song they say and sing!!! If you haven't seen this movie, you need to watch it!!! I went to see it with my family when it first came out in the theaters, and, I went to see the 25th anniversary "re-run" of it at the theater!!! I was sitting there, at the latter, watching it, and, "speaking" and "singing" every line!!! As I said above, I can only do that while watching it - but, it *TRULY IS* my "all-time" favorite movie, and, it *ALWAYS* will be that for me!!! Love your comments!!! Keep. 'em coming, please!!!
Well yes they were lip syncing here but it was their actual voices in the recording. The director talks in a video about how in this specific scene they had someone there off camera to watch for lip syncing match up, and that they sang along with the recording (playing on loud speakers) to make it more convincing visually.
You should see the video of them singing this live 40 years later impromptu in Hawaii. She was in concert and he happened to be in the audience, she calls him to the stage and they did the song together. They sounded great 24 years later.
Yup...a good old fashioned duet number. Real singin’ and Dancin’. Way too much fun. They both have TALENT just oozing out all over the dance floor. The fun for us is seeing you get all excited over this stuff. Proof it can be relevant today as much as it was then.
"That's cool baby, you know how it is, rockin' and rollin' and what not. " "What's the matter with you? " "What's the matter with me, baby, what's the matter with you? " "What happened to the Danny Zuko I met at the beach? " "Well I do not know. Maybe there's two of us. Why don't you take out a missing person's ad? Or try the yellow pages, I don't know. "
Been searching for a copy of Xanadu to introduce to my daughter. She’s seen RU-vid clips and wants the movie. I was 13 when this came out and I was in LOVE with Olivia Newton John !!
Your expression when you see John in the video is my expression when I see Olivia. My GF still loves Travolta, she swoons over him anytime he is on TV or in the news.
Go back and watch the movie if you have the time. She was the goody two-shoes before then and he was the bad boy, her friends made her up and dressed her and sent her out! I love it. John sang throughout the movie...and danced. : )
I have watched Grease a million times it seems like. The first time was in 1978. Whenever I see it is playing on tv I will change the channel and watch it. One of the Best Movies of all times. My wife hates it because I know all the lines and songs. Great stuff.
@@AT87 That would change it totally. And make it weird if India still reacted positively. I was just saying, some people would freak out at hearing "I love that he was chasing her", even with the girl liking the guy back!
Up to this point in the movie, Sandy was sweet and demure. This is the last day of school and she didn't want to lose him. He was ready to become a gentleman finally. That's why he had his letter jacket on.
You said so much when you stated "this is nothing like music today"... Amen! True talent .. True artistry .. and original song writing seems to be gone from the music today. Olivia's best song ever is I honestly love you... brings me to tears. Give it a try.
Grease is the most successful musical/ movie ever. Came out when I was young. We seen it 10 time's in the theater. EVERYONE LOVES GREESE. YES. JOHN WAS SINGING
I've been in love with this movie since a little girl! This is still my favorite movie! I loved those two together! I still love this song! My first love looked precisely like John Travolta lol. He is my son's bio dad and was a cassanova type, like my son, whose 25 now! Lol. I will die loving this song and it'll be always in my heart
I'm 55 and I remember my mother's reaction to this part of this movie. She said those pants she's wearing didn't exist in the 50s. Mom was great at letting us know how wrong movies were about the fifties. I miss her.
This was the first movie I ever saw in a movie theater. My parents took me for my first communion. They then bought my the Grease album for Christmas. I love it.
