Rabbit, Run is a 1960 novel by the American author, John Updike. Although it was originally intended as a one off, it eventually became the first in a tetralogy. Updike used its central character - Harry Angstrom, nicknamed Rabbit - to dissect the concerns and values of contemporary America. The four novels were written at intervals of a decade, with the last - Rabbit at Rest - appearing in 1990. A short postscript, called Rabbit Remembered, appeared in 2001, concerning events after Harry’s death. This review contains spoilers.
