I have owned many Haines manuals over the last forty years, mainly because they have the monopoly, but the best by far is Johns caravan manual, brilliant guy and gentlemen.
I share lots of his thoughts. Many motorhomes out there for sale are boring, space is filled with cupboards and closets and hardly any space to move around. Addition to that, most of them are built with ugly materials and no taste, cheap plastic is used extensively. If you look some of the best home made models they simply look stunning from inside.
I don't know about the Caravan Manual, but Haynes' car manuals have been awfully dumbed down in recent years, almost to the point where they just tell you to take the car to the dealer.
I recently bought Haynes manual to be able to fix my car. The book was shitty without any detailed explanation how to remove something complex I had to. They just said "remove it", easy money.
