Delightful. Song was written by Johnny’s friend, the poet Shel Silverstein. This is first record I ever got, my dad drove me to the record store when it came out. I was not yet 5. I still have it even if Johnny and my dad have passed on. Thanks, guys Ps - meeting Cash and being hugged by him felt like being touched by the hand of God. Definitely a highlight in a life well lived,

The 1973 version is the Original and (to me) Funniest Version.

My brothers teased me mercilessly with this song. My name was Mary susan, and they called me Sue.

Johnny Cash is 💯 the GOAT 🐐 I grew up listening to him with my Daddy. He had a Reel to Reel and I believe every song JC ever made (before my Daddy died) was on that old Reel to Reel. My son is 23 and he's just as much a fan as my Daddy & I ever were. Legends never die!! ❤️

This was an historic performance he gave for the prisoners at San Quentin, on the off-chance you didn't notice or no one mentioned it. It was a pretty big deal.
