The cheering on live at Folsom prison was recorded after the fact. The prisoners were relatively quiet during his performance for fear of repercussions from the guards afterwards. I can never listen to it the same after learning that😂

I absolutely HAD to watch this video. June Carter Cash(Johnny's wife) and my Dad were second cousins. What's even crazier is that June, Johnny, and Dad all died within months of each other in 2003. Johnny's best song, in my opinion, is "Sunday Morning Coming Down," written by legendary hell-raiser Kris Kristofferson. "Hurt" is the song that all of the reactors watch first, but this song is a gem itself. You should react to it if you haven't already. Sometime soon, I wish you would react to Nanci Griffith. She died Friday, and I want someone to keep her legacy alive as well. Great job, guys!

I first heard this song on my parents' vinyl copy of "Johnny Cash At Folsom Prison" around 1980, when I was a little Alabama white boy with a bowl cut. It would be several more years before anyone in my part of the world heard of rap. And this is still the most gangsta shit I've ever heard.

Love your Johnny Cash reactions! I mean, all your reactions, but I got a special spot in my heart for Johnny's music. Some of the language he uses seems pretty plain today but back then cursing of any sort in a song was usually considered shocking... If you want another song of his, I recommend 'Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down.' But I also wanted to ask y'all to listen to 'The Legend of Chavo Guerrero,' a song from The Mountain Goats - the music video for it, if you can. Either way, still excited to see more from you!

Johnny Cash as a cool dude way before his time. The record company refused to let him do a live album from Folsom Prison. They told him his music is for church folk. He said they were wrong. He gets huge bags of mail from prisoners every day. He did the album and it soared to the top of the charts. The record executives told him him that because he always wore all black he looked like he was going to a funeral. He said, "Maybe I am"! You guys have to watch the movie about him called "Walk The Line". You'll like it alot.

In spite of the fact that I can't exactly say that this new joint by Lil Nas X with the accompanying video is my favorite thing in the world, I understand why a lot of people are looking sideways at the kind of people who dislike it. I guess I myself have to hold an L for hypocrisy here. After all, "Industry Baby" only depicted a prison, while "Cocaine Blues" was part of an album recorded inside in actual prison in front of actual inmates, and "Cocaine Blues" the song itself was about a man going on a cocaine high then murdering his girlfriend.
