I only ever recorded my ex in the hopes of eventually getting through to him that he was treating me unfairly- that he was being irrational and violent and mean- but to ever confront him- even and especially on a good day would result in a very very bad day. It's illegal to record a conversation between yourself and another party without consent in CA...that means that 99% of AH's audio recordings were illicitly obtained and illegal, therefore they shouldn't be allowed as evidence for her defense in a legal case. I'm guessing that b/c this is a civil suit, the rules are a bit different, but JD informed her of when he was recording - she snuck and did it, which means she was prepared and postured for her recordings whereas JD was being his authentic self.
That's not true. One does not need permission to film in their own homestead even if someone else is there. How do you think security cameras work? Also, you can film whatever you want in public areas. It's called something like reasonable assumption of lack of privacy or w/e. Then he came back and scored major points with his cross examination, evidence, successfully arguing against objections, and getting JD to behave in a combative manner which helps Heard's credibility. Can't wait to see Heard's testimony and cross examination.

She comes every day and sits there with the same look on her face, it's so disturbing and creepy. Recording during his vulnerable moments, without his consent and having to destroy his self-built career. I hope he receives justice and mental peace as well.
There are several videos where people look into her body language. It's my thought that she is purposefully keeping a straight face as much as she can. That way the body Language specialist can't dig into what she may be thinking. She's trying really hard to be straight face for the cameras! It gives me an uneasy feeling when I listen to him have to talk to her in the recordings. I know exactly how it feels and getting over constant intentional arguments and fights is so draining, it's a feeling you can never forget after you experience an ongoing encounter with an abusive person like her.

I was recorded during my marriage too. I was the woman in my relationship, but I can relate to him. Even when the stress of everything made me ill, he still used it against me. That's not how the legal system works. It won't reach conclusion until all of the admitted evidence and testimony has concluded. It has to run it's course to try to be thorough. It won't just stop the moment Amber admitted to hitting him. Then the jury decides at the end. Depp basically got canceled because of Amber's accusations. Even though he was never arrested or convicted. He was convicted in the court of public opinion and with the Hollywood studios dropping him. Even if he doesn't win the money in this case he may get justice in the end just by airing their dirty laundry in this whole trial. Johnny Depp must have thought about this by choosing to go thru with this trial. Even if he doesn't get the money judgement that he wants he made get justice in that regard at least.

Been in a abusive relationship to the point where my ex had taken complete control of my life and I started to believe the things my ex would say to me like “nobody will ever marry you or love you”. It’s been about 6 years but I still have that trauma and feeling of worthlessness, it takes many years to heal and to finally feel free again. Hate to break it to you, but smiling and laughter can be a trauma response. A way to soothe oneself to keep from breaking. I smile or laugh when recounting traumatic events. It's not uncommon. It doesn't mean someone isn't hurt or taking it seriously.

It comes across more like she was recording Depp to gain leverage to "expose" him if she felt like taking that route, but in reality, she was the instigator in the physical confrontation, so whether the headbutt was intentional or not doesn't even matter. She was clearly not afraid of Depp and could have left at anytime. Recording a drug addict in a vulnerable state is also extremely scummy, even worse to try to use it against him.
