It's so bizarre to realise (according to the timeline and Johnny's own statements at his trial) that at this time, he already is addicted to opioids thanks to an injury on the set of pirates 4. I guess Johnny is telling the truth about his drug use, you really can't tell, or notice anything off about him. He comes down as a calm and mellow individual, but he doesn't seem "out of it" as they say.
