Lucky Johnny! He looks very handsome in his nice new halter. It looks very comfortable. He was very well behaved today, greeting others in the stable without putting on a big stallion attitude. Good boy! Nice to see him greeting Risey. It is interesting how young horses show submission by chewing. They do it instinctively. Yvonne, a piece on how horses communicate with each other would be very interesting.

Yvonne actually mentioned it previously that the horses having the chewing motion means they are being submissive. Of course, they have other means of communication as well.

The day I found the video of Uniek and Risey first meeting, was the day my StepFather passed away suddenly. Granted- the video had been posted about a month prior to me seeing it- however I had been sitting here crying and listening to music while I waited to hear from my Mem about where I needed to be. All the sudden- the video popped up on my feed. I have never watched any videos like it but I decided to click and I am SO GLAD I DID. I have watched that video probably 100 times and that brought me to the rest of your videos and now I can't get enough of them. I am on disability and have not much to look forward too some days, but I get up every morning hoping for videos from you and how it makes my day when they get posted. I can not tell you how great this channel, your family and our internet family has been for me. My heart has never felt more full.

I first read about how youngsters do that in a book by The Horse Whisperer, Monty Roberts. He is colorblind but sees very well at night, and that is one of the things he saw when as a boy he'd spend nights watching horses. Horses communicate more than people realize. 😊

@@franceshale584 -- I have it packed away somewhere (unless I gave it away to a horse lover years ago, can't recall). I think he did a video based on his work with that horse. I do recall that MR came to town (Albuquerque) one one of his tours (1980s? 90s?) and our Public TV station followed him around and made a documentary about him (including working in our convention center [lots of space] with a skittish horse and other activities). I'm sure I had it on VHS and may have converted it to DVD. Several older videos about him are here on RU-vid, including that one, I think, in parts, and he may still keep his YT channel up. Wikipedia says he was born on May 14, 1935, so he may simply watch his family and friends keep up his ranch :) He might have fun watching Friesians; I think Dr. Jan Pol (The Incredible Dr. Pol) has several Friesians at his place in frozen middle Michigan, but I haven't been able to keep up with his show (no cable).

Very nice halter and rope. Very nice color for him and looks very strong.He was glad to show it off as long as he could eat grass. As soon as he got to Risey and mates I could see their mouth moving and remembered you saying it was submissive. Johnny was very good i have seen him be very ornery before.

Lovely present from Camille 😍😍! That head collar is lovely and fluffy, and looks like it's so comfortable when Johnny is wearing it 😊😊. It definitely suits him, he's such a handsome boy 😍😍😍. Johnny seems to like his new head collar and lead rope, and was enjoying his wander round the yard - especially the grass 😂😂. Sjors was so funny sticking his head through the gap to be nosy, and I loved the way that Johnny greeted first Lianne on the way out, and then the three colts on the way in 😂😍😂😍. This time, Johnny accepted Sjors as his equal and did not do a dominance play. The three musketeers a.k.a Rising Star, Rinse Janko and Pieter are as emotive as ever. It's like Johnny was seeing if they are worthy to dethrone him as the "most handsome stud muffin" there. Can I ask what's Johnny's role at Stal G? Is he a registered stallion? If so, is he allowed to pro-created with the mares at Stal G or only the ponies due to his short size? Also, is he a friesian breed?

Johnny is a “Teaser Stallion” at Stal G. He is a Dartmoor Pony and isn’t allowed to fraternize with the mares there. He does occasionally have date nights with local ponies.
