aint watched tv since 1994 once globalist / leftist started wreckin america so never seen miss brody before and was amazed what a great voice , n lookin . i was thinkin she look like dolly alot
It's too bad not everyone likes the classic country. Sadly we lost several great artists that paved the way for the new generation. Today's country music sounds like a mixture of rock & hip / hop or rap
exactly .. i quit listenin to current day country bout 10 year ago and now just listen to my cd collection of country from 80s til bout 2010 . hank jr , willie , waylon , milsap , travis , strait , adkins , brook n dunn , yearwood , sara evan , rascal fats , etc
Oh, my. Lane gave me chills when she opened her mouth. Johnny was so right at the end when he said she sounds just the same. And he showed during the bridge he can still bring the quips I remember from his concerts. A genuine gentleman loving what he does.
I don't usually comment on music unless i hear something that i think is special. This was one of my fav songs back when J.L. & L.B. first recorded it. To say they still sound better live than on the recording, i don't think is going too far. Their voices are a perfect blend. Finding this version and hearing this song again made my ears smile.
When my wife of 40 years passed away Lane and Johnny sang quietly. You sang probably ten times at her celebration of life. When I lowered her ashes the last Two songs were DIXIE and THE YELLOW ROSE OF TEXAS. Beautiful life Beautiful song
They do a terrific job singing that song. Lane Brody projects a happy and lively image. Plus she's awful easy on the eyes. Beautiful woman. Johnny Lee and her make a great duet. Voices go together very well.
Just sent this to my darling, cousin and Goddaughter who is just home from the hospital in Portland, Oregon. Born and raised in Galveston and Nonie loved the song. Thank you! (Sent her yellow roses, as well from her, native, New Yorker cousin.). All good!
I met Ms. Lane Brody some years ago. She is as beautiful inside as well as outside. Down to earth. I have stayed in touch with her through the years. She is now doing different gigs in and around Tx and Ok.
The great charm of the female age! Greetings. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2AoP7rava2Y.html *MARIA ELENA* in the style of *Santo & Johnny*
What a beautiful song it brings tears to my eyes singing along with it. My grandpa just loved it when I sung it to him when I was a little boy. I also have copies of this song on an 8 track and a 45 record
I wish theyd do a segment with this setup for the award shows....would be good having a medley including this tune with as many of the legends sitting around the stage.
I had the pleasure of meeting Johnny Lee at the county fair this weekend and he is a sweet approachable person. So very friendly and sweet. I asked him for a guitar pic for my daughter and he gladly gave her one after the song. He also took pics with us, hugged him and he's just an awesome man. His daughter sang this with him, Cherish Lee and she's as nice as he is. He put on a great concert and very sweet. Love u Johnny!!
The TV drama by the same name might not have lasted long, but this song will last forever in my memory. For many years,I never even knew who Lane Brody was.
I honestly had never heard of Lane Brody until she came into my restaurant with Eddie Bayers and I talked to them for a little bit just yesterday. They are very nice people and very big health nuts, lol. They both are a very cute couple. Then they told me they used to big pretty big and country-jazz music. He is a great drummer and used to play for big names like Garth Brooks, Peter Frampton, and Bob Seger. They told me a little about themselves then of course I had to look them up. Pretty cool. Eddie was diagnosed with diabetes and she helped get him beat it within 3 months! She would let him have any of our apple pie ;-)
Neat story. Always like to hear how people come across when they're just being themselves. From her on screen/on stage persona she just looks like she'd be a fun person to hang with.
Thanks for sharing, this is awesome! I'm so blessed to be a Daughter of the Republic of Texas and United Daughter of the Confederacy. My family is very patriotic and most are members of the military or law enforcement. ♥
+Cindy Rizzato I am confused on the Confederacy Ma'am (wasnt listening in History class I'm sure) personaly i am NOT a CW fan (although i do occ like a country song loved Patsy,k.d. lang,Dolly) but I remember "Lookin For Love" back in 1980 and did buy the single (i amusually a r&b soul music fan of female vocalists in ALL genres its the females) but Mr.Lee sold me on that song (I especially loved the female backing vocals.) Thank You DM (Pgh,PA.)
whenever i watch this video..lane brody...puts a smile on my face...she is all woman....sexy, girly, she really make a man feel like a king....for some reason i feel that if i was with that group...she would sing and smile while looking at me...and i just know she would be the diamond of the desert, the yellow flower of spring...she would be my yellow rose of texas....she would make me feel like a king...
Fannnnntastic! I been doing this song for a hunnert years but Y'all done it up brown and round! Now I gotta go learn it right. Thanks. ...dw (old tx boy)
Little Jimmy Dickens! Thank you. I don't know how old this video is but he caught my attention because he looked so alone inspite of the crowd around him. The song Yellow Rose is so inspiring esp. when sang by Johnny Lee and Lane. I'm not an American but I love country songs so much.
there's a good reason this song has over a million views.....not a greater state than Texas.....and i'm from NJ....but who cannot love that big lone star state!!!!
This is a very old song, I rememb when Gene Autry sang this song on a movie "Yellow Rose of Texas" in 1933, I was 6 years old at the time. Great song :-)
