@@scottwilliamson8887 I think it's possible to like Johnny Marr and still think it silly to consider him the "best guitarist." It's probably silly to call any single player the the best, for that mater. Marr's a very tasteful, subtle player (and seems to be a great bloke) but there are plenty of players out there who are more original, creative, versatile and technically proficient and no less expressive. None of which should detract from Marr's own brilliance.
Interviewer: What color is the guitar again Johnny? Johnny: It's Sherwood Green Interviewer: It's so beautiful it reminds me of Viko mint biscuit wrapper from the 80's. Is that what you were going for. Johnny: No. lol.
around @3:00 Marr began softly playing this charming man …but then stopped bc the convo continued. dammit we were that close to hearing the master play it guitar-only
lay off Keaveny he's a sick man and he and Johnny know each other. Johnny doesn't seem annoyed so why does everyone feel the need to get annoyed for him
Could anyone who's owns Boss gt 100 tell me what the detune effect is and what pedal it's modelled on? I've been looking for a sound like that for sometime, and as they pointed out chorus is done to death!
Definitely agree on James Williamson-one of the greatest rock guitarist and Raw Power is an amazing album which delivers on the title. Of course, if you are going to make a list of the greats, Marr has to be one of those at the top of that list
¿Es idea mía o hay algo "sospechoso" en la manera en que ese entrevistador acaricia la guitarra de Johnny? Me gustan las manos de Johnny en 3:57, están muy cuidadas y bien pintadas.

Mosque,...did Johnny not know about that band? Such a funny reaction he has.
Love this! They obviously are are familiar and comfortable with each other, don’t know what all the shit comments are about. Johnny Marr is my favorite guitarist of all time❤️✌🏻
If that guy could have shut up there would have been way more of what everyone wanted to see. He interrupted every time he was going to play something...
Don't understand the hate directed at the interviewer - really...? Johnny has always had a rather sardonic wit and I think the interviewer is trying to be similar and connect with J - maybe not your cup of tea but hardly the worst interviewer ever
Christ Almighty, so many people bitching about this invterview without the faintest idea that they know each other pretty well. (Johnny Marr owes Shaun £10, it is a running joke. So just calm down, everyone who is apoplectic about the interview technique in this clip...)
haha Shaun's dry, dower northern style has been completely lost on all the yank Marr fan boys out there haha, i bet they'd love to read this comment section 😂
"the technicality of jimmy page" "cough" am not really having a go at jimmy page or anything he is one of my guitar heroes of course but i don't know about him being that great in technique or at least enough for it to be something he would be known for, i'd say he was one of the greatest guitar songwriters and a great lead player but i dont know about technique
Love Johnny Marr guitar genius,,,,but Brian May another guitar 🎸 genius,,could keep going on,,,but they are all master’s of their craft,,,to them it’s a job that they enjoy,,🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Shaun Keavenly does ruin what could have been a good interview. He should have asked Marr to play the chorus of what difference, Marr never plays the chorus for some reason.
Cringeworthy with that dodgy interviewer, all great guitarists like Johnny Marr have their own sound like great bands regardless of special effects pedals, rare nowadays you can distinguish different guitarists, musicianship is a dying trade/hobby sadly.
Marr was a gentleman - this interviewer is a complete bozo, wow! Give the man some personal space, for goodness sakes! talk about your unlikeable close talkers, yikes!
