Seriously this Jag is a be all end all guitar for me. Everything about it. You can tell, Hear and see all the details of hard work. It has been my number 1 must get guitar for me since it came out. Sadly life gets in the way. But watching these videos is a treat. Thank you Johnny.

Johnny, please consider putting the truss rod adjustment on the top of the fingerboard. I know you're being 'time correct' with it under the pickguard but .it just doesn't make sense in this day and age to have to take the neck off for what is sometimes a very quick truss rod adjustment. I'd buy a Lake Placid blue Marr in a second.

interesting. Looks like Johnny used two of the same pickups as the EOB strat. The sustainer in the neck and the mini humbucker (JB?) in the bridge.

Converted a Squier VM Jag (in CA Red) to 'Marr spec' a couple of years back, using budget parts and lateral thinking - including sorting the pickup polarities. Okay, it's not 'as good as the real thing', but it's still a helluva guitar, came in under £500, and looks the dog's, with the pearly 'plate.

I bought a jagstang yesterday and I absolutely adore it. The entire reason I wanted it was because it's half Jaguar. I'd have bought a regular Jaguar, but I've actually never seen one in person.

Bought the Olympic White - it was a very correct solid reliable guitar. But then I played a 62 - and man the resonance of the old wood - so sadly sold the JM and bought the 62 - still I would absolutely recommend it

Johnny Marr is such a dude. Love his tasteful playing, love his attitude. But why oh why can't you get stock Fender Jaguar models with 7.25" camber vintage necks and that astounding Lake Placid Blue finish anywhere? All the modern ones, you can't get that exact shade, it's always too pale, and they tend to have 9.5" or so radius necks. Vintage is so much comfier for smaller handed players, I'd argue. Top Jag tips for anyone who bothered to read this far, to balance the thing out. Keep the stock vibrato tailpiece always because if you stop tail, you lose the essence of the Jag signature sound, that huge attack. Fit a buzz stop to help prevent string skip and add a little sustain. Swap the terrible stock bridge out for a Mastery, huge improvement in so many ways. Change the volume/tone pots on the lead circuit (stock is often 1M, and trust me 500K is way better and the bass cut/strangle switch has far more effect). If going for pickup swaps to make the guitar more suitable for rock, I'd recommend Seymour Duncans - SJAG-3 matched set with RWRP on one for humbucking, or my personal favourite which is a Hot Rails SHR-1b, technically for a Strat but with some wire stripping you can make it fit into a Jag, potentially even rewire the bass cut switch as a coil tap.

I think your Jaguar and the Kurt Cobain Jaguar are the epitome of Fender's Jaguar line... They don't get any better than your custom Jaguar and for heavier rock, the Cobain Jaguar is it... Just wish it had what your Jaguar has for playability/versatility... Now, if your Jaguar had a baby with the Cobain Jaguar and inherited all of your Jags traits like the proper working tremolo, the switching, coil taps, and so on... It would be the only set of guitars I would ever want! I can't find this Lake Placid blue Jaguar anywhere, but this is really the only color I want. As it is, your custom is the God of Fender custom guitars! Glad to find your own RU-vid channel, your music was the only thing that made the 80's bearable in Texas! The rest of what they were playing was shyte!

Played one of these around a relatives a few months ago... Wasn't my cup of tea really, there's nothing to wrestle with, could've been the setup, but it didn't have the character of an original jaguar, played a lot like a strat to me

Love my Marr, But old smiths sound better on my tribute Ric, Tribute Ric plays better than a real one and I have done with one truss rod what rick could not with 2 truss rods. It sounds spot on and the slightly wider neck makes it way more playable at my age.

Hi Johnny, what's the problem with making a guitar album without Morrissey. Your youth musical motives don't really hit your audience. Make an album with cool guitar riffs like "headmaster ritual".
