Their culture of constantly getting caught in paradoxical and contradictory stances is inculcated largely from their faith. For example, they can insist their prophet Muhammad(pbuh) is clearly prophesied in the bible while also claiming the bible to be corrupted, claiming their allah to be all knowing and powerful yet cannot even stop scriptural corruption, claim Muhammad(pbuh) is good and holy yet have recorded evidences in sahih/authenticated hadeeths/scriptures clearly depicting his life of shames and crimes. Everything is confusing to them cos they allow themselves to be confused. If anyone dares to point that out, that person will be hit with 'blasphemy' charges. LOL.

Many of the older local Malays' generations with an ossidified mindset still think that Malaysia solely belongs to their race only. They insensibly refuse to face & accept the Reality that after 1957 Independence, the Federation of Malaysia belongs to all Malaysian citizens namely the local Malays, Chinese, Indians, Orang Asli/Asal, Dayaks, Bidayuhs, Ibans, Kadazandusuns, etc of Sabah & Sarawak, and overall citizens of Malayans, Sabahans and Sarawakians! 😊

@@limtc1733 I think that's why the success of the Unity Government is crucial for economic development. With the emphasis of good governance and its tough anti-corruption stance, the economic transformation of Malaysia is looking brighter. This UG unites the many races/religions of Malaysians and with the revival of a 'reformed' UMNO, it can bring political stability for the years ahead. The UG in contrast to the Opposition, emphases on Multi-racial/religious and equitable development. Being led by PH whose reputation of competency and not being bogged down by corruption, UMNO, would find it in its interest to reform instead of trying to revive it's glory days. The greatest threat to the UG is from PAS due to religious 'brainwashing' of their supporters. However, with the take down of the corrupted Malay elites in the Opposition fold, and the ageing of their leaders and funding supporters, PAS may not have the necessary funding to truly threaten the UG. Malaysia's future seemed much brighter in that light.

In my personal opinion : whenever both elephant surface on any patch of grassland to fight for territory, the end result will be destroying all the grass most of the time suitable for feeding feeding domestic animals like cow and goat on both sides of the land. Moreover the dark side of that small little island has been abusing Authority against vulnerable citizens for so many decades to deprive them seeking justice by incarcerating poor victims at mental hospital to consume toxic medicines and vaccinating them with illegal drugs to become a hopeless citizen incapable to think about doing something correctly at the mental ward. Every day, about 300,000 people cross the causeway to work in Singapore. The RTS will move 10,000 passengers PER HOUR. It seems modest. So, likely the RTS will be overcrowded/overloaded/over demanded at Bt Chagar running into Singapore in the morning, and empty on the return journey in the morning. Then when people realise the RTS's capacity is modest, they will return to their own mode of transport (motorcycles). The causeway will see a slight (30,000?) drop in traffic (assuming rush hour from 6 am to 9 am). But pretty soon, the planners will realise that the RTS capacity is too low for the morning rush hour. The RTS, based on the capacity of 10,000 passengers per hour, is not likely to be a game changer. Maybe if it can move 50,000 passengers per hour... The real game changer is if Malaysia and Singapore can have a passport-free/borderless crossing between Johor and Singapore. BUT... it would likely mean that a de facto "border" or at least immigration checkpoint will have to be established at Johor's border with the Northern states. Because, once a Malaysian (or any nationality for that matter) crosses into Johor, they can in effect cross into Singapore without further checks. So if they cross form say Pahang into Johor, they are effectively also applying to enter Singapore. So Singapore will have to set up a CIQ at Johor's "borders", and Malaysia/Johor must allow Singapore to do so. Will they? And you see at our Immigration checkpoints, there will be police on standby to enforce any immigration laws that are broken. Will Malaysia let Singapore police on their land, up to the border with other states? Or will Malaysian/Johor Police enforce Singapore Immigration laws? All those are questions that will need to be sorted out. As Johoreans (or other Malaysians living in Johor) will now find it easy to work in Singapore, while staying in Johor, Singapore can draw on the labour in Johor. We have a shortage of nurses? More Johor nurses are willing to work in Singapore hospitals now. Maybe we will end up draining the staff from Johor Hospitals. Maybe a few Johor hospitals will have to close due to lack of nurses and even doctors? But Johor Hospitals can fight back - attracting Singapore patients with lower costs. OR Singapore nursing homes and aged care facilities may move to or open branches in Johor with cheaper land, and cheaper labour, and the relatives of patients can easily visit them (because passport-free/borderless). Not because of the RTS.

@angeluscorpius

@@araara4746 Spoken/written like a true Malaysian? Satisfied with inconsequential improvements? "3 lanes better than 2"? More like "2 lanes and a cycling path is better than 2 lanes alone". But of course you missed the point of my comment: that the RTS is going to be a modest improvement that will not make a difference. So they are going with the "passport-free" border crossing. This will mean that 350,000 (according to wikipedia) can cross the border without passport. Which will speed up the border crossing. And "disguise" the... "effectiveness" of the RTS. And no, I'm not debating you.
@araara4746

@@angeluscorpius I'm not Malaysian, nor Singaporean, but Indonesian. It's very clear that your thoughts are influenced by politics, no longer about the efficiency of transportation between Singapore and Malaysia. It doesn't take an IQ of 200 to understand that adding one lane will reduce congestion on the two existing lanes. That's no longer up for debate. Regarding passport free or not, that's just your speculation, because it doesn't necessarily mean that RTS must be passport free. Immigration checks can be carried out by Singapore and Malaysia together on the departure side. If the other two lanes (causeway and the second link) are not passport free, then why does RTS have to be passport free? Free passports usually based on citizenship, not based on the mode of transportation used. If passport free is between Singapore and Malaysia, then whether via the causeway, via the second link or via the airport it will still be passport free. It doesn't make sense that passing through the causeway, second link and airport is not passport free, but specifically via RTS it will be passport free. Too difficult for you to understand?

@@araara4746 wrote: "It doesn't take an IQ of 200 to understand that adding one lane will reduce congestion on the two existing lanes". Of course! If it adds "ONE LANE"! So tell me, how does 10,000 passengers per hour = "ONE LANE"? When 350,000 Malaysians cross into Singapore EVERY MORNING? Ah! Indonesian exaggeration? 10,000 = 100,000 to 150,000? I like this "modern" Indonesian mathematics... You also wrote: "It doesn't make sense that passing through the causeway, second link and airport is not passport free, but specifically via RTS it will be passport free." And WHERE did you get THIS fiction? (You DID NOT understand my comment in the first place, did you? You have NO REFERENCE to the discussion between Malaysia and Singapore to have a passport-free Special Economic Zone, do you? In other words, you are not very up to date on current affairs, no?) Please. I need to know how Indonesians think. They (i.e YOU) are our neighbours anyway. It therefore helps to know how they create their... "world view". In the first place, the long term, cross border RTS and HSR infrastructure projects should be under design, build, owned & operate (DBOO) bidding model, where viability must be worked out first. Otherwise, it is a no go. That they will not have any government linked entities involved in operation other than overseeing the tendering and awarding process, collecting taxes and regulations. Let the private sector plans and finances the projects such that no government subsidy is necessary other than land allocation. It is unwise to have politicians involved where election may result in a change of government, not so the private sector. The RTS link construction is now far ahead and chances of being cancelled physically is very remote. The next set of issues on operation and determination of fare price will have to be resolved based on market principles of P&L by the two governments, which if left to a single private commercial entity would be easier to manage. The best is yet to be.

Only small percentage of tourist will travel from Singapore crossing boarder to JB. In terms of property market it was the JB property agent who are so excited and predicting their own future growth. The true fact was not like that. Only small percentage of investors buying the property in JB. Why would Singaporean move and stay in JB? Nothing cheap is JB . Poor road conditions, crime rate is average but not particularly safe, infrastructure are poorly maintain, poor road planning. Everything will be the same even after the RTS completion.
