Thank you SO much for this video! I had only seen pictures of this way of joining strips , and I just couldn't figure out how to finish it. Now that I know, it looks easy :)
Thank you so much! I am using up my fabric stash oddball cotton fabrics and making braided trivets for Christmas gifts one 9x11 oval and two 9 inch rounds. I know I could quilt them but right now this is fun! Anyway ... thank you concise and clear Instructions and now I don't have to sew those strips together. Yay!
My fabric is new, and wonder if you suggest washing it before I start? Some of it is already in strips, and some in rectangles. Should I tear it, or cut it into th right size strips?
How do you join a yarn with 2 small ends each!? Practically, one end has a ball of yarn and another end has your crochet project?! How do you join that?
Very simple before you wind it up into a ball, you hook them together. Of course that requires pre planning when you are making the yard. There has got to be a way to do it, dam If I can think of one. I guess there always super glue, lol.
Ellen, I would not wash the strips or small pieces as you will just get a giant wad of threads tangled around fabric and it will waste lots of fabric and time as it is nearly impossible to straighten and undo ot all. I speak from experience. If you have yardage that has never been washed, you could launder. If one is using recycled clothes etc, they are usually pre-shrunk.
